I think it might be one of those things that some babies do and some babies don't- my younger brother had a blanket, teddy bear and dummy with him at all times but I was happy with just my thumb  We have a bunny for Emma (actually 3 identical ones: 1 in the living room, 1 in the change bag and 1 at my parents house) that goes everywhere with us- I can't say she likes it better than her other toys though. Interesting topic though

We have a teddy Noah has to sleep with, it was a present and cant find another, i dread losing it

harry has a red monkey he adores & a blue elephant with orange teething ears (see piccy) that he likes n will interact with more so than any other toys/objects. and he really likes spoons for some reason
great video maffie! and kaites, that tutu is awesome!!!

James loves his green rattle bunny. But the thing we can't live without is a plain old muslin square!

Chloe isn't too fussed, well she doesn't have a fav as such. She likes her Dumbo teddy, a taggie thing that has a sqweeker in it and she goes mental at my old teddy bear!

I chose my teddy when I was a baby / toddler and hated leaving him behind, he's had some adventures being returned via Royal Mail!

I wonder too, neither of my Sisters really had a fave teddy. My cousin had a rag he called his 'nun nun'. Nij has Leo the Lion kept pride of place in the front room where he won't get lost or squished. Funny isn't how some do and others don't! I'm sure we will know about it if they do once its left somewhere and the scream the place down for it!

I have Olli from when I was little. I was given it for Christmas when I was one. It's not that I wouldn't go anywhere without him, but he certainly had to be in bed with me each night lol. He's been chewed by dogs, through countless washing machines, dipped in a deep fat fryer (don't ask lol) and all sorts and while he's a bit raggedy, he's still here lol.

Earl doesn't have anything at the moment but he goes through phases of different toys so I'm sure we'll settle. He has a pooh bear blankie that he does like but he got left in the car and so we've gone off him now lol. He has a muslin in bed that he wont sleep without though.

We've had one heck of a busy day lol. We got up, Earl ad his porridge, that I think he would have eaten the whole jar given half a chance lol. We then all had a bath each. Earl went into Daddy's bath, which was red hot, but he seemed to enjoy it lol. We then went into town, had lunch, did a bit of shopping. I got Earl the most adorable Nemo sun hat from the Disney Store.....they have the most fantastic little baby clothes in....none of which fit Earl now :dohh: Sun hat was the only thing they had that looked like it would last the summer lol. Even the sandals were on the verge of too small!

We got home and had some tea, then put Dumbo on. Well....Earl lasted nearly 10 minutes into it before getting bored. He was mesmerised!! It was so cute. Hubby absolutely loves Dumbo....the DVD was his birthday pressie! lol....so he's chuffed that Earl likes it.

We then went through a few family photo's while Earl had a chill out and we found some pictures of Hubby as a baby/toddler. Well, you'd swear they're of Earl. The best two to compare are below. Hubby is in the grey. The pic of Earl (in the red) was taken yesterday.

Earl has managed to get something in his eye and he keeps rubbing it so it's gone really red and bloodshot. I've ended up swaddling him to stop him from trying to rub/scratch it as it was keeping him awake. :dohh: Oh, and he's into his 9-12 month pyjamas....desperately need to go shopping for some more clothes for him on monday (payday lol) otherwise he's only got 3 grows :dohh:

Hubby has had his hair cut this afternoon too...had it really short! Even shorted than on our wedding day, but he needs it like that for Diving. He's off to his pool session as we speak and wont be back til 10, then tomorrow we're off to his Nana's to celebrate mother's day with his Mum, Nana, Auntie and various other relatives lol.

Hope we're all ok ladies (and Nij) and I'm now going to go and curl up as I'm shattered!!

Cheers Kte I feel quite embarased about Leo now!

I used to adore anything with a silky label, like on blankets I used to use them as soothers up until i was about 3.

Morning all,

Well, semi productive morning, some clothes washed (ongoing all day, Kaites spurred me on with the pile!) and I have put up Chloe's travell cot in our bedroom. I plan to move CHloe into her own room at the end of the month but she really is too small for her moses baskets, she can still fit but gets her legs caught in the handles (!) and I was watching her last night and she can't stretch out and I know she loves too. Her room is so full it will take me a while to re-sort it for the millionth time so I decided two weeks in a travel cot is only like being on a fortnights hol. Plus it helps me wean myself off her being right there, to just over there, to a different room!

Nij: I couldn't leave Leo out sorry, he is too cute. I wonder if because we both had a fave teddy that makes a difference to if Chloe would or not?

Got my friend coming over for a natter and some tea soon, Chloe is playing in her bouncer car and chewing her teether keys (I call them her car keys :haha:) She is trying to chew the hoop they keys are on and looks like one of those door knockers!

Nij, my OH was exactly the same with the silky labels & silky edging to blankets too. His mum gave us his Super Ted toy that he had from when he was first born, so that's kinda cool, even though it's grubby & a bit manky looking.
Harry is very touchy-feely, so anything with furry, silky, fleecy feelings to it, he pretty much can't get enough of!
I had a gray seal toy when I was a kid that I was obsessed with... I gave it away when I was 14 & cried. My god I am so sad, lol! My sister still has this ugly little Pound Puppy that's falling to pieces, but she wont get rid of it.
My 5 yr old nephew wont go anywhere without a crappy old red toy car that was my brother's when he was a kid.

I guess it's an emotional attatchment thing that reminds you of good times

Great pics everyone :)

Good morning ladies and Nij :)

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start! Ours is... :happydance: I finished helping Darrin with his resume on Thursday night and yesterday he went to a competitor of his old company to drop off his resume and last night they offered him a job :) The retraining programs were a no-go since he would have needed to be out of work for almost a year for them to consider him (no thanks!). He said he'll still apply for jobs in other industries now that his resume is updated but at least the pressure is off a bit and he can take his time. Today we are heading out to Toys R Us to get a baby swing to attach to a tree in our backyard since they are on sale and then we're heading to my parents for an early birthday celebration since we'll be going to Montreal next weekend. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend too :)

That's interesting about the silky labels- I bet lots of babies must like them for the Taggies company to base their products on it. Marketing genius- their stuff is so expensive here and it's just a bit of ribbon attached to toys and blankets. Emma does seem to go for the tags on stuff but they aren't usually the silky ones

Aimee- that's wild how much Earl looks like your hubby! They look like the same kid :) Did Earl seem to outgrow the 6-9mth sleepers overnight? Just wondering since Earl and Emma seem to be following a similar growth curve and it seemed like one day they fit and the next they didn't. I think we only have two 9-12mth sleepers- I decided to skip straight to the 12-18mth ones since they are only a little bit too long atm.

Kte- haha, glad to hear my laziness helped spur you on, lol :) I bought more socks and undies before the baby arrived and it was one of the best purchases since I can delay laundry a lot longer now :haha: Have fun with your friend :) I love Chloe's car- looks like a fun toy!

Well, time to hunt down some breakfast before shopping! Hope everyone is having a good day and :hugs: to those that need them!

Kaites - I only put him in the 9-12 month ones because all of his 6-9's are in the wash and it just fir him perfect. I had noticed that his 6-9's were fitting a little snug but didn't think we'd be that close to the next size up :dohh: I put him into another one tonight as it's the same. Lovely fit, little bit of growing room in the leg....guess we're in them now, good job I'm going to the shops on Monday to update his wardrobe. MIL has bought him a load of 9-12 tops so I just need to get him pyjamas and trackies....little chav that he is! lol

We have spent a nice day at hubby's nana's today. MIL was there, as well as hubby's cousin, his wife and their LO. She's 11 months, weighs 16lb (was only 5lb when she was born) and is in 6-9m clothes. She's so light and petite compared to Earl. I picked her up and nearly chucked her over my head she had nothing to her lol. I laid Earl on the floor to have a it of a roll and she was laid next to him and they were virtually the same height....crackers! There's over 6 months between them!! I'll post a pic when it's off Hubby's phone.

Tomorrow is a day of rest in this house then we;re off shopping and to the NRM on Monday. Should be nice and a break from job hunting. I've found 3 more jobs to apply for  I'm being picky for the time being, as we have a little time lol. As we get through the Summer I may get a little less discerning lol. Oh and we're booking our summer hols too....should be a good couple of days

Hope we're all good :hugs:

And, of course Ladies (sorry Nij, this really is for the ladies)

:flower::flower::flower:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY :flower::flower::flower:

LOL I think I can let you off with that Aimee.

I don't know what started this ladies/girls and nij thing (i think it was LK) and although I find it funny, I am actually quite flattered.

Anyhow, happy mothers day to you all for tomorrow. :flower::flower::flower::flower:

Kaites: Congrats for your OH on the new job! The taggy thing Chloe has was made by my Aunt, she sewed lots of different textured ribbons into a square winnie the pooh fabric, did seams so its nice and sealed and there is a sqweeker inside!

Aimee: Forgot to say in my last post, its uncanny how much your OH and Earl look alike. The stats for cousins LO sounds like Chloe minus the age of course, a tall 16lb-er in 6-9 clothes!

Flora: Lol I called my Teddy Super Ted!

:hugs: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TOMORROW ALL :hugs:

Happy Mothers Day to you all xx (I guess I am the only father in here lol)

https://i1003.photobucket.com/albums/af160/a397/100_2624.jpg

So what did you all get?

Chloe got Kte some flowers and a card, but Chloe decided she wanted a new outfit for the special occasion (9 to 12 months!!)

Happy Mothers Day everyone.

OH is at work started at midnight last night so not a clue whats happening for mothers day :( Ive had lots of Noah cuddles though

Noah was up most of the night his mouth seems to be really sharp looks loike quite a few teeth are cutting. Im shattered and having lurgy isnt helping. Not sure what to do for his teeth, he doesnt like gel, he isnt taking to his teethers he just wants to chew my finger which is a bit hard when he wants it all day, just glad he isnt chewing my nipples :haha:

Maffie, glad Noah is giving you special mothers day cuddles. Have you tried calpol/nurofen?

Going to try paracetmol, cant do nurofen as im allergic so dont want to risk it. I hate dosing up on meds but think he needs it today. Thing is when he chews on my fingers it seems to deal with the pain, so reluctant to use drugs.

I know the feeling, I tend to keep away from pain killers myself until it seams vital and even then I get mad with myself for taking them.
I gave Chloe both Calpol and Nurofen on Friday and they didnt seam to work TBH, only Timmy Time came close :haha:

Lol, Timmy Time is fab!

Maffie, awh see Noah can show his Mummy he appreciates her already :cloud9:

Mmm, Chloe has only just taken to her teething ring, otherwise she has been chewing on her fingers or her dummy. If I remember correctly Noah doesn't use a dummy tho? I think Kaites uses some beads for Emma and Aimee may be trying some powder for Earl, maybe those could help? Chloe has a teether that goes in the fridge but i have to hold it in her mouth.

:hugs:

Hope his gums ease soon and you feel better too.
