Noah can sit unaided but not for long, if he sits forward slightly he's fine but sit upright and he topples over backwards :haha:

He cant sit up from flat though (when does this happen roughly)

Ooh forgot to say too.....do any of you girls have any experience with Cradle cap? Earl has a patch of it right in his fringe and it's not sore but obviously scaly. I was advised by my MIL to put sudacrem on it directly for 12 hours, then brush it out, wash it and repeat it once more. Then leave it for 24 hours. We're trying it at the moment. He had some sudacrem on at 8am this morning (only got the advice at 9pm last night drat lol.) so will have it taken out and re-applied at bedtime. Will report back if it works but it does look funny. lol Also in the piccies you can see the array of cushions and the ingenius use of a travel cot mattress lol.

We are using baby oil to lift the cradle cap, leave on an hour then shampoo off, need repeating a few times.

LK - yes please smack the 'female dog' for me, I said ages ago to Kte I didn't wanna go and collect Chloe from the CM as she makes my blood boil!

Kaites - I have now discovered the drinkless hangover was a early part of what ever variation of man flu that I have got :(

Update on the CM.

We have a few issues, mainly that the cancellation period with the CM is one month, so we have to pay for one month £575 to be exact even though Chloe wont be going there as I don't trust her, I would prefer to leave Chloe sat in her car-seat in the middle of Tescos all day because IMO she will get as much, if not more care!
But me being me and a cunning git, I have written a letter (supervised by Kte) which is kinda blaming her and saying she isn't up to the job, but saying it very politely. The last sentance is;
If you feel that you cannot 'carry on' with Chloe being 'unsettled' like you say she is, then we need to find a resolution to this situation.
which I hope will be enough for her to kinda give us the boot, at which point we say we don't require your services anyway, then we don't owe her a penny! If that doesn't work, she will have to accept a payment plan, say £2 a week lol

We have found a nursery, which Katie likes, they have spaces, but is a little more expensive that the CM, so we will have to tighten out belts even more. BUT I have been informed that I will have to start working every Sunday (good as it is double time, bad because its family time)

Aimee : I love that picture! The first one! Made me smile. I used olive oil on chloe at night time. During the day I used some baby moisturiser from johnsons, didnt want her all oily in the day! So thats kinda similar to the sudocrem. Hope it clears up soon. :flower:

Chloe is also teething really badly at the moment and to top it off she has a cold, bogie river streaming from her nose then bunged up. She keeps waking in the night crying. havent been able to get hold of hv but thinking it must be to do with either teeth or cold as i popped on Nij side of the bed and elevated her with a pillow ans she then slept like a dream.

Nursary looks good, all these little babies smiling away looking at me when i went in, forget everything else, that shows you something, cant fake the baby smiles!!. I was very impressed, just hope chloe likes it! It will be like one big long baby play group.

Aimee- I love the piccies of Earl! The smile in the first one with the sudocream plastered on his head is priceless :) We've used olive oil overnight for cradle cap too but I am a little sick of the smell now so we've switched to grapeseed oil as a moisturizer for Emma and it's great stuff too

Nij and Kte- glad to hear you'll be kicking the nasty CM to the curb and the new nursery looks promising! I hope you feel better soon Nij and Chloe!

I'm having a very unproductive day- my parents came round this morning. Emma definitely enjoys visits from them. MIL is finally coming over on Saturday (early Easter dinner with both sides of the family) and my mum is concerned about whether she should give Emma her Easter gifts some other time so that MIL doesn't feel bad if she doesn't bring a gift. I told my mum to bring the gift on Saturday- it might cause my MIL to feel awkward, but screw it. We've had enough problems with MIL stirring up sh*t, let her feel awkward (guess that makes me a bad hostess, lol). So what are everyone's plans for Easter?

Aimee- Infaderm baby shampoo & bubble bath appears to be doing the trick for Harry's cradle cap... and when he does have the occasional flair up, I smother him in E45 cream for an hour or so, then give him a bath & that helps too.

Colsy- I feel like I am living your life sometimes. I get so angry & grumpy that OH just turns over & falls asleep when I'm 'stuck' feeding Harry & then having to listen to him snore when I am trying desperately to get back to sleep. He quite often gets an 'accidental' nudge in the ribs when I get annoyed, lol. Harry is sleeping terribly. I thought the solids would help him sleep better &* although he is now a little star during the day, he is a git at night, sometimes waking up to 6 times, which kills me & I'm like the walking dead the following day. Then other times, he will sleep 8 hours through & I wake up with boobs the size of Everest!!!! :dohh: Just no predicting him at the moment.

well.... 8 days till the wedding. Scared now, lol.

Thanks guys. That piccy is brilliant....he's really smiley desite the fact that his mouth is swollen from teething. Makes his smile wonky though bless. I've just remembered we have a clinic appointment tomorrow for his last jabs....soooooo late lol. So I've washed the sudacrem off and brushed it off and it seems to have worked quite well. Still a bit to come off but I'm hoping that if I do the same again tomorrow then we'll be home free. I've tried olive oil before and it didn't really work, and the cradle cap shampoo's make me come out in a rash so I can't use them :dohh: Seems like MIL is right again...gotta love having a MIL who's a nurse sometimes lol.

Right...off to make tea. Have a nice one ladies xxx

Evening ladies. Well my mum bathed James tonight and put him into a pair of PJ's rather than a babygro. He thought it was great. Bit warmer for him. They fit pretty well and the only thing I had to do was roll up the sleeves a little bit. Thing is they are 9-12 months!! :haha:

On the down side my depression has surfaced again  I had it a few years ago and I kinda guessed it would probably come back cos of how stressful things are at the mo. Things kind of came to a head this morning when I actually snapped at James cos he was sick in his cot. Just sat in the kitchen in tears and thought right thats it. Havn't been sleeping well for the last couple of weeks and have been quite snappy and low. So went to the GP this morning and she has put me back on my antidepressants (was on them for 18 months a few years back) and suggested Cognitive Behavioural Therapy so will give it a go

Kte and Nij - good idea about the letter. The new nursery sounds good. Fingers crossed that you get a place for Chloe.

Hope everyone has had a good day. Going to try to take James swimming again tomorrow. His bottom front teeth are almost breaking the gum. They are soooo swollen and the poor little man is just chewing EVERYTHING!! Ah well. Trials of being a parent I guess! I am off to grab a cup of tea and try to get an early night :coffee:

Nij & Kte ~ I glad to hear that you've taken some positive steps forward; if you're unsure about the care that your child receives she shouldn't be there. Trust your gut! My DS had a couple of nurseries before I found a child minder I felt happy with. He then stayed there until starting school... I've yet to tackle the child care issue for me returning to work, still kinda hoping my Mum's at home when I work... My OH's working week also starts on a Sunday and like most HGV drivers ther shifts are long; he does spend as much time with the kids as he can when he's off and doesn't moan about me organising stuff for him to do with them and him being the only bloke there... LOL... Needs must...

Right I best get myself organised, I've arranged for all OH family that live locally to come for tea, and my house looks like a bomb site... So much to do, I just don't know

Mornin all, thanks :flower:

I will have a proper catch up later, got to get ready, taking madam to the doctors to see about her cold as she is really struggling at night and the nasal saline stuff isn't working too good. She full of beans this morning though albeit a tad flemmy!

Morning girls. Hope everyone is having a good day so far. Its beautifully sunny here this morning. Slept pretty well last night cos the antidepressant knocked me the hell out lol. Got to go buy some more nappies today. Didn't keep a very good idea on the nappy supply. Opened a packet yesterday and then last night suddenly thought, oh crap hang on what size is that other box of nappies? They were the size 4 box that I had been given and he is still very comfortably in size 3 so its off to the shops I go when he wakes from his nap. He is so funny with his going to sleep atm. He was all sleepy in his bouncer so I changed his nappy and put him back in his chair and he started crying. Put him into his cot and he instantly rolls over onto his tummy and starts playing and chatting away. Then after about 10 minutes it goes quiet, you look over and he has rolled back onto his side, put his dummy in his mouth and gone to sleep lol. He now will only sleep in his cot, his car seat if we are in the car, or his pushchair if we are out and about. Anywhere else he just kicks and cries and moans until you put him to bed lol.

Just a quickie ladies and gents as I've got a couple of things to do this aft and I've ust realised the time! :dohh:

Earl had his last jabs this morning. He was brill. No tears and just a little bit of a cry after each one. He was quickly back to his normal self and was chatting away to the nurse as she filled in his book while I was dressing him. He was soooo hyper from about 10-12.30 then just passed out and has been asleep ever since. poor little thing. At least he's catching up on the lack of sleep from last night. His teeth did one final sting last night. He's so much better today with them. But he woke at 3am SCREAMING the house down! Was so loud it's a wonder the neighbours didn't call over lol. I went in and picked him up and he was just frantic trying to scratch his gums. They were all swollen and looked really angry. I gave him some calpol and bonjela, stripped him off to try to cool him down and gave him an ice teether ti chew on. I waited for 10 minutes and he started to calm down and get sleepy again so I thought brill...back to bed mister! Well how wrong was I. Every time I tried to leave him he would scream again. He was only happy being cuddled. In the end I pulled out the sofa bed in his nursery and popped us both onto it and get him to sleep cuddled up to me. He woke every so often but because he was cuddled in and I was just snoozing because I was freezing....couldn't be bothered to go and dig out the spare bedding :dohh:..... so I could see to him. He finally woke up happy as larry at 6.30 and has been in great form all day, even with his jabs. Wish I could say the same.....I'm absolutely exhausted!!!

I'll pop on later and see how everyone is. I hope we're all ok - loadsa hugs ladies and gents :hugs::flower:

My OH's working week also starts on a Sunday and like most HGV drivers ther shifts are long; he does spend as much time with the kids as he can when he's off and doesn't moan about me organising stuff for him to do with them and him being the only bloke there... LOL... Needs must...

Tell me about it, m shift pattern is about to change, from 2am monday to friday and alternative saturdays to midnight monday to sunday with 2 dasy off when they can give me them one week and a friday sat off the following week! :(

BUT there is more money for sundays lol

somene will take it off us Nij, they always do!

Aimee, Harry had his last lot of injections today... and cried so badly! really took me back seeing his bottom lip go, then hearing him howl- he's been pretty good the previous times... he's just slept for 2hrs though, so i got loadsa housework done, lol. Hopefully he wont be in too much discomfort tonight from them.

Happy 6mths Autumn (and Chaos, lol)... Can you believe we're now hitting the 6month mark???!!! Crazy!

Kte & Nij - I know what you mean about the money. Hubby works sunday-Saturday weeks 5/7 and it's a pain but he gets extra for Sundays. Doesn't seem worth it when he leaves at 8 and gets back at 7 - Earl doesn't see him those days. Still, only 8 weeks left!! We officially move next month.....where too is still in question, but we're handing in notices at the end of April! How are your plans coming along? Also, good on you for your stand against the CM.....I hope it all pans out and good to know you've got a good alternative for Chloe's care.

Flora - Awww poor Harry. I hope he's ok now he's had a sleep. You wouldn't know Earl had had his  He's just polished off a massive tea and a yoghurt, and is now laid yelling at the Simpsons :dohh:

eswift - hope the visits went ok. :flower:

Happy 6 months to all those reaching it. We've only just passed 5 months but I have 26th April on the planner and it's not that far away. Madness that we're half way through that first year.....then maybe I can stop collecting shares in SMA!! lol

Don't know if anyone has seen the thread I put up. Earl rolled....3 times!! It was brill and it's been a very busy week for him development wise! I actually saw him roll and he looked at me as if to say 'and for my next trick.....' lol. I swear I'm going to have a crawler by the end of next week!

And...cradle cap has GONE! I love my MIL. There are maybe a coupleof straggly scales so I'm going to do another dose of sudacrem overnight and get rid of them. I don't want Earl going to see Granny with cradle cap. He's also wearing mits in bed for the next few nights....do NOT want any more gouges out of his face. Always seems to be when we have visits to do he looks like he's been mauled! lol

Anyhoo's - time for a bath and then to bed. He's been really hard to settle for the last few nights so I'm hoping that he'll be better tonight now his teeth have calmed down....thank goodness. We'll see. Hoping he'll be down before 7.30 all being well.

Have a nice evening ladies. Hope we're ok.

Well I am shocked lol. James demolished a whole jar of Carribean Pork Casserole for dinner and then was yelling at me for more so he then demolished half a pouch of Strawberry and Apple puree. Then he had his bath and was sound asleep in bed by 7.20pm. Not stirred since. So I have cleaned the kitchen and lounge and am now chilling out chatting to friends online and watching tv.

Aimeelou - Wow go Earl!! Its so much fun when they start being mobile.

Flora - James screams the place down with his jabs. Bottom lip, tears, the lot!

have any of you tried the Ella Organic range of pouches? my sis bought some for harry, so since they were free i figured i'd try one & omg, harry loved it!!!! he had half the pouch in 1 sitting- the most hes ever eaten & OH wasnt too bothered coz it had natural ingredients, so win-win, lol. :)

I've looked at them on the shelf, but I make all my own purees so only keep a couple of jars in the cupboard for emergencies/junk food nights lol. They do sound nice though....may have to give them a go. Tonights tea was butternut squash and pear. Earl seems to love things like that. His favourite so far is definitely 3 root mash with gravy....I could give him 3 whole bowls of that and he'd still ask for more. Oh and also, any flavour fromage frais is a go-er lol.

Thanks LK - Yeah it's fun. He's definitely got it sussed. I can see I'm going to have my hands full and I must admit, it's going to be great fun! lol.
