Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Hello all Mummys and Bumpkins hope were all well, sorry not been on for a few days, George seems to have settled more now, and the infacol is deffo working, last night he had his bottle at 10, and didnt wake up till 3.15!! i was made up, feeling better myself too, as i was blaming myself that he couldnt get his wind up and i was feeling really low too, we have also been out more the last couple of days, and thats made me feel alot better, i hope everyone is well and all babys are doing well too xxxxxxxxxx

So far: 75 girls & 89 boys. Girls have made a bit of a catch up this past week. Still waiting for some more overdue ladies to 'pop' and the rest are MIA at the mo... It's been pretty fun keeping track of all the births, lol, though i ndo feel like a bit of a stalker!!!

Sam: aww, so glad George is doing better for you :)

Also, congrats to MeggieMoo! Oscar looks totally adorable! I hope he's being good for you & that you're starting to heal well. I was cut aswell and I was so soe the first week. Have only really felt back to normal this week to be honest, which is a relief as it makes me want to go out & do more, rather than sit on one butt cheek & whince everytime I walk :dohh: I've added you & Oscar to the bumpkin birth thread, still in 3rd tri.

Kte: can't wait to read Chloe's birth story. :)

Harry was a star last night. Fed him at 8pm, then he slept through till 11:15, fed & changed him, was settled by midnight, then he slept through till 4:05am, changed & fed him again, put him down awake but swaddled & he settled himself 30mins later... then he woke up at 8am coz daddy was being a noisy git in the wardrobe again, fed him again & he fell asleep on me till my sister called me & woke us both up at 11am. I feel sooooo refreshed! Best lot of sleep I've had since he was born! Yay Harrybo! :) And at last, he's starting to grow out (length-wise) of his early baby sized clothes! Feel like I'm finally doing things right, iykwim?!

Got one of our mates from uni coming to stay today for the weekend, so I'm all excited. The house is a total mess, but oh well... She lived with my OH for 3 years, so she's seen worse, haha! We're also telling her this evening that we'd like her to be one of Harry's godparents too, so I'm expecting happy times & takeaways tonight!!!!!! :)

Is anyone else getting their LOs christened/name blessing, or the likes? We planning Harry's for about feb 1/2 term time. I wanted him done before xmas, but with the possible house move & general hecticness right now, that's defo not gonna happen, then our wedding's in april, so I'd prefer it to happen before then, so feb seemed like a good month, lol. Plus it'll be a year then since I got my :BFP: so it seems kinda fitting. :)

Anyways.... really shiould make a start on the mountain of washing up & empty the bins at the very least today!

:hugs: to you all :hugs:

Flora ~ Yep, we will be getting Chloe christened in end of Jan / early Feb time. We were going to wait a bit but one of her godmothers to be is expecting her own LO in March! We picked out some of his Mum and Dad's next door neighbours who OH has known for ages, we (all 4) became good friends over the last few weeks and they have always been really friendly and supportive and were thrilled we asked them to be her god parents.

Love your description of being cut & uncomfy, that is how I feel, made me laugh :haha:

Yeah I will have to write her birth story soon! I will get some more down today, hopefully it all, but we ended up being invited to a birhtday party on OH's side of family so we doing that now. I will put a post on when it is ready!!!

Good to hear about the sleep! Chloe had a grumpish day yesterday but OH and I had nothing much planned for today so we just stayed in bed until about 11.30! She is in a much better mood today :)

Have a good time with you friend :)

:hugs: to all xx

Well I had a bit of a hectic morning. My parents came up and brought my 2 nans with them. And my baby brother (bit of a joke as he is 23 and 6ft7 lol) came too. So James has had lots of cuddles and I didn't get a look in for 4 hours lol. They've gone home now so me and James are having some quality time together. When I got him back he looked at me as if to say oh there you are mummy. Bit of an embarrassing question but has anyone had any bleeding from their bottom when they have a poo? Wondering whether I have piles inside or something :(

yeah, I had a bleeding butt twice so far. I figure it's piles?

Hello, ladies. I feel totally out of the loop these days, it's the first time i've had a minute to boot the laptop up in days!
My little Smurph is 11 days old today and is still a little gem:cloud9:. He sleeps so well and is weighing heavier than his birth weight now, yay for the boob juice lol! He is my chilled out little man!
I'm healing pretty well after the section but still a bit raw in places:wacko: but well worth it :happydance: Murphy is such a little ladies man, he has an uncanny gift for wrapping the ladies around his little finger lol. We went to register his birth two days ago and he had every female in the building cooing over him. Hmmm, gonna have to watch that lol. Hope you're all doing well and enjoying mummyhood :) ! xx

I have been blessed with piles since having LO - best thing for them is Anusol cream, it is very effective. Trick is to try and not become constipated.
xx

Congrats MeggieMoo - he is adorable.

Kte - Chloe is also adorable. Hope your enjoying parenting. Rachel has had an unsettled day, looking forward to her Daddy getting home from work so I can get a break!

Oh yes, most defo. Having a poo is almost more painful than labour. See my post in the Postnatal Support section to read what other people have to say on the matter.

Hope it gets better soon xx

I am loving it thanks :D Hope you got a nice break x

Chloe has been having cuddles all afternoon at the party and being eating like a gannet. Now she won't settle very well  I can't think it's because she has had lots of attention as she was asleep through most of it. We got all her wind up too. She is just having little moans.

My cats are doing my head in at the moment, they are all trying to maull me. All 3 of them are obviously feeling neglected and possibly a little jealous. They are being more demaning than Chloe!

Well I am off to bed soon, just going to sort out her bottles. We have another busy day tomorrow, off to Mamas and Papas with OH's cousin (who is expecting) so will be up and out for 11.

Nite all x

Morning all, well Noah is a lovely baby but boy has he been grizzly yesterday. He seems to be struggling to poo. It upsets him so much when he's doing it. He's definitely a bit of a mummy's boy as he often only wants me. Maybe its because I always smell of milk, I dont think he was impressed when i'd had a bath and was lovely and fresh

Also has anyone rediscovered their libido? Mine seems to of come back with a vengeance so I need to quickly think of suitable contraception!

Morning All!

I was so out of it yesterday, and feel so groggy today; CC is letting us have a little sleep, but not too sure either me or OH are getting any true sleep. I wake up feeling so urgh!?! It can't be that time aready can it? Had breakie this morning, looked at the clock and it's 11 O'clock! Where has all the time gone???

Oh, well best get dressed; we've DS to collect from my Grandparents & parents. They're all at the rememberance parade. We all normally go, but I decided this year as the weather is so crappy and CC is still so young it's not worth her being out if we don't need to be. What with all the colds and flu's about at the moment...

Sounds like you're all managing and coping very well, with all the different challenges... Only thing I feel as though I'm struggling with is sleep... But that's only for a short while really, may have to start snoozing in the afternoons (when she's snoozing)... Managing to get CC settled in her moses basket now; which is a big step forward... Little minx, still tries to comfort herself on my nipple to sleep; hehehe so funny now as she sits with it just on the edge of her lips and licks the end... better then clamping down on it as she was doing before... (Boy does that hurt!?)

Have a great day all! And a lovely weekend, what's left of it...

MeggieMoo ~ Congratulations Girl! So nice to hear from you, I have been wondering how you were doing... Hope you heal soon, glad LO is feeding well!

Erm YES lol... I am shall we say 'randy' all the time .. My OH doesnt know whats going on bless him, although he isnt complaining  I am going to get the depo tomorrow so i know we are safe.. Dont want any accidents.

Anyways  how are we all? I am feeling fab :) started working out on the fit this week and have lost 2lb in 4 days :happydance: Plus today i weighed Sienna on it and she now weighs 9lb! Not bad considering she is 1 month old tomorrow. Her NB clothes are just starting to fit now.. although some are still massive.. Looks like i have a petite one on my hands.

Right i am off to watch my OH on the fit as it makes me laugh :haha:

Catch you all later xx

Afternoon everyone

Early night for us last night ....managed to get LO asleep at 1030 and he slept until 0245. Got up for a feed and managed to get him down again for 0330 until 0645 (how precise am I?!?! counting the valuable minutes!). He seems to be quite good at spacing out his feeds as when he went down at 1030 he hadnt actually eaten since 930 but our problem seems to be getting him settled. He definitely wants to be cuddled to sleep but apart from being knackered, concerned that if we do that every time he will come to expect it. If we put him down when he's not asleep he screams for ages and isnt easily soothed by just touch or talk. Any tips?! Or do you reckon we should do longer cuddles and slowly try to wean him off?! Cant believe weather is beautiful today so we're going out wiht babybjorn sling to the park!

Have a nice day!

Good morning!

Hope everyone had a good night. I thought I was going to be able to get to bed early since Emma fell asleep in my arms on the couch around 8:30, but as soon as I transferred her to her crib, she started to wail and I ended up snuggling/feeding her for another 2 hrs- argh. I have to keep reminding myself that this is "precious" time that I will never get back- probably just trying to trick myself into enjoying the sleep deprivation! To add to my frustration, everytime I went to change her diaper, she would pee again right as I was lifting her legs up to put a new diaper under her, peeing all over the fresh diaper and her clothes- either I had really bad timing yesterday or my fashionable daughter thought she needed a change of outfit every few hours :)

MeggieMoo- that's an adorable pic of Oscar!

Kte- our cat is super clingy at the moment too. I think she was initially mad at us for bringing home the baby but now she's trying to compete for our affection

baby.love- that's some awesome weight loss! I'm not quite back to my pre-preg weight but most of my pants fit, so I have to admit, my motivation is low

pootle- I cuddle Emma to sleep too- I figure she's still young and probably has problems self-soothing still. She won't take a dummy and is only starting to discover sucking on her hand so I'm going to keep the cuddles coming for a little longer and see how that goes.

Today we are going to tackle grocery shopping, raking leaves in the backyard and maybe putting up christmas lights in our trees (before it gets too cold and miserable)- probably a bit ambitious though! Hope everyone has a good day. :hugs: to all the other sleep deprived mums!

Morning girls and bumpkins. Had a better night with James last night. He slept from 7.30pm til 12.30pm. Then he slept til 4am. Then again til 8am. Put him into his moses basket at 9.30pm and he settled himself straight back to sleep without even his dummy which I was impressed with. Hes just had another feed at 11.30am and took ages to burp him so he is just settling to sleep now after some play time in his bouncer. Hoping he will go to sleep properly in a minute cos I'm starving! Not managed to eat yet today. He is doing that startle thing where he just starts to nod off and then jumps and wakes himself up.

hey all :)

BabyLove: congrats on the weight loss. I really should start the wii fit again soon too. I was still doing it up till about 22 weeks pregnant, but then it started making me feel really sick, so i stopped, put it under the TV & it's not seen the light of daya gain since, lol. I've got 10lbs to lose until I'm back to my normal pre-pregnancy weight, which in an ideal world, I'd like to have done by xmas... Then whatever I lose after that is a bonus for my wedding in april, lol. OH started slimfast a couple of weeks ago & is a bit disappointed coz he's only lost 4lbs so far, but I keep telling him that's really good, but he wont believe me! :dohh:

Harry slept really well again last night; 11pm till 5am!!! Then when he woke up, had his feed & got changed, he decided it was play time & didn;t want to go to sleep again! Managed to settle him again by 7am, then he didn;t wake up til 9am, was fed & slept again till 11:30am. I'm loving these morning lay-ins he's letting me have!

Having a lovely weekend with our friend from uni- was able to have a lovely long shower while she looked after harry, and she also did my washing up & cleaned my cooker!!! talk about gratefu :)

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend?

Evening all,

Well I am feeling really tired and even though i'm getting sleep feel worn out. I think I need to eat more, see if I can build up my energy. I've now lost 25 lbs in total. Thats shocked me as thats more than I gained while pregnant. Hopefully will keep losing when I start exercising.

I have an emergency dentist appointment tomorrow so feeling nervous!!!

I have Noah in his play gym today and he seems to really like it. He keeps grabbing at the toys. The other thing he's started doing his rolling onto his side. I thought he'd be too young to do this yet?

H rolls onto his side a lot too, and also pushes both his feet down & lifts his butt up in the air, then lets himself 'crash' down again a lot wqhen he's annoyed, lol.

OH is really driving me insane today.. hes been awake most of the night cause he was hot, and lyed there listening to dexter wake up but didnt bother getting up with him!! so i did the 3 night feeds again, i was so mad and hurt that he couldnt just let me sleep! 5 weeks iv done ALL the night feeds, im totally shattered. All hes done all day is moan hes tired! hes pissin me off today tbh =[
