Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Already said it but congrats on your blue bump, have you any names in mind?

Mumof42009, not yet hun! Our brains are blank with boy names. X

Congrats on the blue bump nanaki!

I'm so excited! 5 days off now :happydance: I tell you this time off is dangerous. next week will kill me when I go back to 4 days per week! :dohh:

Not a lot else going on with us. Going to the library tomorrow and maybe to swimming later on in the week. Going to try for a day out aswell - we never made it to the railway last weekend so maybe there. Spoiled for choice :haha:

Hope everyone is good. Best be going - time for a cuppa! :coffee:

milo is starting to notice that Ava needs more attention than him. last night he was ready for bed but she was up and cranky. so i couldnt just leave her. milo started trying to hit her and pull on my clothes :/ my SIL was there. but she's never held a newborn so i didnt wanna leave her with Ava. but eventually ava calmed down just enough for me to run milo upstairs. when i came down SIL was holding ava (which kinda surprised me). i asked my mom to come down for just 10 minutes while i got milo to bed, but she said "i have to figure it out sometime". ugh. i know, but it was the first night and she's so young still. i hope tonight goes smoother.

:hugs: MilosMommy. TBH, that was not a very helpful comment from your mum!

Sorry so short girls, there is SOOOO much happening with us this week and last week. Will be another week yet before all settled down, but I defo see light at end of tunnel for my work proejcts :happydance:

Milosmummy - :hugs: Glad your sister was able to help a little though. Maybe get a sling so you can settle Ava while dealing with milo. I'm sure you'll get into the swing of things soon hun and that Milo will settle down too.

Hope we're all ok. Enjoying day 1 of our mini-break lol. Took Earl to the library and got him some new books. He was chatting away to a little boy (I'd say about 3 years) as he does and this little boy was just giggling at him as Earl kept giving him books and then asking for them back, then giving them back......you get the picture lol. :haha:

Other than that it's all quite subdued but I'm loving it. May put something on the tv for a bit then lasagne for tea! Yummy!

Have a nice evening ladies. xx

Milosmommy the swing of things will come, but yes you'll feel like tearing your hair out on occasion. Its a big adjustment having 2 and its a biggie for Milo sharing his mummy. Our worst time is evening when eldest is tired and wants cuddling and it always coincides with the baby's feed. Ive had to learn to feed one while cuddling the other. It looks comical to say the least.

Not much going on here at the moment, seem to be lots of hospital trips for one thing and another. Lots of tests tomorrow :(

Flora loving all your new pics on FB

Chaos does Autumn interact with your bump?

Weeeeeeeeeee I'm finally allowed of of bed!!! Shesh 3 days bed rest is quite enough for me. The bleeding has stopped!

Frags ~ I tell her there is a baby in my belly but I don't think she understands. When I say it she slaps her hands over her mouth and giggles and then lifts my top up to play with my belly button stud lol

Chaos, your daughter did the similar to my Billy!! And he thinks there is a baby in his tummy!! hehe!

last night was a bit better since Ava was sleeping when he was ready for bed. usually when he's tired if when he wants to share me the least. lol. it seems like he's warming up to her a little bit more. he'll come up and rub her head. didnt try swatting at her yesterday, thankfully! i imagine by the end of the weekend or so he'll be more used to things :)

Well, Chloe is on a Daddy-Daughter day today, it's been a while but I am sure they will have some fun. Chloe is a little off colour at the moment, more in the evenings but she was a bit iffy this morning too. She had a single rosey cheek which confused me a bit as I thought she had done all the teething that was to be done for a while!?!

I'm a bit unsure at the mo, my supervisor's job has just gone up on the web. She is having a years MAT leave, she is due in August. The job is advertised for 9 months and would be good experience but I just feel like its pointless filling in the form as then they would have to replace me etc and I just don't think they will want to do that. Our manager and even my supervisor haven't even told us the job is up yet, infact, she hasn't even told us when she plans to leave and how long for! Pretty poor really tbh! I just don't want to waste my time but don't want to not be considered if that makes sence. I prob wouldn't even get an interview, stupid office politics! :grr:

Emma's doing okay thanks- I still can't pinpoint 100% what is causing her issues  We have our next doctor's appt this aft so unfortunately, I'm no closer to being able to say to the doctor that I think it's xyz causing her sleeplessness. The last 2 nights have been a bit better though so who knows what's going on! I just hope this is a trend in the right direction :)

Not much else going on here- we decided to cancel our cable and increase our internet package and we've had nothing but problems with our internet ever since :grr: I have to reset the modem everytime the computer is restarted from hibernation mode and even then it doesn't always connect properly- such a pita!

Kte- I hope Chloe is feeling better and enjoy's daddy-daughter day :flower: Teething-wise, one of Emma's little friends is getting his last set of molars atm too so I guess it's really an individual thing rather than a set timeline- I hope they come through quickly if that's what's going on!

Hope everyone is doing well- :hugs: to those that need them!

She has always been early on the teething front so I guess it could be that! I hope so, don't want to think it is and she has an ear infection or something but I always check her ears as (TMI) Nij and I both have waxy ears so I like to keep an eye on hers. Plus, the whole rosey cheek-ness adds more to teething. Sorry, i'm waffling!

Hope the doc appointment goes well :hugs:

What a pain with the internet! Hope it gets sorted soon :flower:

Kte, not yet to pick the name! Realised it is not easy! :)

Hope you all have a nice day! x

James is cutting his last molars too so its entirely possible she is teething Kte.

Well I am in a right tiz. Childminder informed me this morning that she is giving up childminding as of July so I have to start over again! James wont be happy cos he adores this childminder. Thankfully tonight is my last night so tomorrow so I can start ringing round people but may have to consider nursery if no childminders have a space. I just give up lol.

Milosmummy; huge congratulations on the birth of Ava. i hope Milo adjusts quickly. Maybe try get him involved by asking him to pass toys or nappies or tickle her little tummy n stuff so he feels included in things? And get your friends n family to pay him lots of attention too when they see him so he doesn't feel like it's all about the new baby. It must be weird for toddlers who dont fully understand, bless them. x

nanaki, huge congrats on another blue bump! At least you'll be able to use some of Billy's things so it'll save you some money!

And congrats to you too Chaos on another pink bump. I just *knew* it'd be another girl, lol!

Eswift- when's your 20 weeks scan? Will you find out the sex or keep it a surprise? My best friend has her scan next week & she's sooooo nervous!

Fraggles, thanks, i take far too many pics of harry!!! I've had a few snide comments made about it on Facebook, but since my friends & family are scattered about all over the country (and world in some cases) it's the only way they get to see him growing up & what he gets up to, ya know?

well, we had a great time in Cornwall. harry was a total water baby as usual. I did my first try-dive as well, but was pretty useless as i kept panicking underwater; took me ages to get comfortable with it. It just isn't natural, lol!

Hubby's off to malta for work tomorrow, then next friday we're off to Wales for a week on holiday. i can't wait!

Anyways, hope everyone else is ok & doing well. xxx

flora - my dad has been coming down every day to play with just him. and my SIL is over to help when he gets into his "climb all over mommy" stage. last night after OH got off work i was holding Ava, and Milo came up to her and started playing with her fingers and kinda just looking at them for a while. lol. he tries to rub the top of her head as if he was petting our dog! but sometimes he starts to get a little rough. though it seems like he's warming up to her slowly but surely :) still cant give him to get give her a kiss :dohh:

bless him; he'll get there. Harry's very gentle, but he wont hug or kiss anyone smaller than him, lol. He's all over older toddlers & kids though. He loves it when older kids hold his hand & take him places, hehe- think it makes him feel special!
