Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Afternoon all,

Milo'sMummy: Well done Milo on winning! :flower:

Nanaki: Sounds like a busy weekend! Especially for Billy! Shame about the aromatherepy, my Sis had that in the end and she loved it

Ive got a possible short term solution to my work situation :happydance: please all keep your fingers crossed for me

OOOOOOOOOOo fingers crossed and good luck :flower: :D

FX'd for you Fraggles :flower:

Hope everyone is doing well and had a good weekend. Ours was busy as usual- today is my dad's birthday so we were over at their place yesterday for an early birthday dinner. My mum babysat Emma for a couple hours on Saturday so that I could go grocery shopping in peace- it was nice not having little hands trying to sneak a snack! All the kiddies have had runny noses for about a week and now I'm starting to feel wiped out- I hope I manage to avoid the latest cold! Not much else new here- Emma seems to be picking up a lot more words and is obsessed with foot wear (like mother, like daughter I guess) and I've noticed that she's now sleep talking a bit which cracks me up since they are recognizeable words (makes me wonder what she's dreaming about sometimes, lol). Anyway, hope everyone is well :flower:

Nanaki - shame about the aromatherapy. I had a little bit during my last labour as my birth centre specialised in it. I didn't realise it could be so powerful and will definitely be using it more in our next one!

Fraggles - Good luck and fingers and toes crossed for you!

Kaites - Hope you avoid the cold too. There's one doing the rounds at work and I really hope that I don't bring it home! Managed a whole 2 weeks without one! lol

Hope you avoid the work colds too :flower: You'd think we'd be beyond cold season by now, lol!

Aimee: Hope you avoid the colds :flower:. There are a few here with it, we were all sat in the office yesterday, triple layered it was that cold! Its crazy, and of course all the papers say is heat wave on the way - yeah right, sheesh after 2 years of no heatwave, you would think they would learn! :haha:

Kaites: Hope you also avoid the colds :flower: Chloe has a stream at the moment, although I can't decided if its teething or not. I think its more a cold as lately with the teething its more the drooly-icky nappies and rosey cheeks opposed to snot-ville. I did shopping on with just Chloe and I last sat, too much like hard work! There was a trail of screeming toddlers in prams  Oh and I must remember that when I give Chloe something to hold to 'help', not to pass her the bananas (yes the emergency ones! :haha:) as now the tops are all mushy brown from being squished :dohh: Must be really cute hearing Emma sleep talk!

Took Chloe to get some wellies on Sat, oh-dear is she not impressed with wellies! I ended up not buying any, partly becasue I am unsure what size to get (is it right you get the next size up?), and partly as she was so unimpressed! But I kind want to get her some for our holiday (being realistic here lol - for the seaside!) or at least to get used to before winter comes again!

Yeah, I learned the hard way not to pass Emma any items or let her put them in the cart too- she's tried to eat through a package of bagels amongst other things :dohh: Too bad about the rain boots- Emma loves hers because she can pull them on and off herself. I'm pretty sure rain boots are also supposed to be a size up too. I hope you get your heatwave and don't need the boots though, lol :) It's been pouring rain for about 4 days now here- yuck- I wanna go to the park! :hissy: :haha:

Earl had some wellies last year when he first learned to walk and he would walk like he had lead feet! I've not bought any yet but I think that may be the next thing.

Kaites - where I am (norfolk) we haven't had proper rain since March. All the grass is dying. We've had the odd shower, and a bit of drizzle over the past few days, but not enough to actually bring everything back to life. Temperature is still a touch cool and the wind is cold, but there still isn't any sign of any rain!

I once passed Earl a packet of biscuits in the shop when he was in his pushchair. I carried on with the shopping, went to pay and he'd gotten into the packet and had eaten about a third! :dohh: Embarrassing having to go and pay for a half eaten packet of malted milks!

As ever, the Yorkshire weather is true to form!

Although the sun is out . . . . a little right now.

Just send an email to the Union branch person thingy ( I am a unison steward) it was against the grain but damn I feel good for sending it! I have a backbone afterall! :haha:

Arggggggggggggggggggg

ah I feel better for that, good and bad day here

:hugs:

I'll join you! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :hissy: :grr: :hissy:

I gave Autumn a box of butter to hold once (here, a block of butter is sold in 4 sticks and inside a cardboard box) .. when I got to the checkout she had chewed thru the cardboard and ate half a stick of butter!

Think we need a list of items we can give to them :haha:

I shall join in with the aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh too lol. Those who have me on fb will see why. Had a tyre blow out driving at 50mph on the way to work last night.

N eats french sticks walking round the supermarket. Its one of his fave places to go :dohh:

Oh and he went in the fridge himself this morning and got out a punnet of strawberries, cheeky or what!!!

Emma does the same with the strawberries! Today while I had to step out of the room briefly, she actually reached up to the kitchen counter and got the plate of roast that I was about to heat up for lunch and passed it around to her little friends that were in the kitchen with her :dohh: She's getting way too tall!

:hugs: to the ladies that need them- sounds like there are a few needed! Hope everyone else is having a good day!

Girls, been on a lovely week's hols after my monster work project. Only just checking in now to say a brief hello and a huge congrats to FloraBean on your BFP :happydance: OH and I are off work until after the weekend, and then it's back to normal for a bit, so I should be in contact with the online world again next week. Talk to you all soon, hope you're all hunky dorey xxx

Morning all  :flower:

LK: I saw your car tyre, that just looks crazy and am glad you are okay :hugs:

Colsy: Glad you had a lovely hol

Had a grump this morning, Chloe was really woke up in a bad mood, I was worrying thinking I shouldn't take her to nursery but figured as we were getting a lift in I would see how she went and if they called me then fair enough. Nursery asked me how she was so I said clingy and grumpy, I passed her over and she just waved bye bye!!
