Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

I made paella this week and he demolished the calamari and chorizo which I didnt expect. Better than a fussy kid I guess, wish J would eat something. Anything lol

I think N gains around 1 lb every 3 months, he likes foods I wouldnt of expected but thats good, means he'll give anything a try.

I know what you mean! We went to a sea food restaurant last night and missy devoured onion rings, followed by 6 of my shrimp (large ones) and then my broccoli lol

Earl will eat virtually anything lol. As long as it's not mushrooms or carrots lol :haha:

He loves curry and rice with naan bread, and will happily scampi and chips from my plate if we go out lol. He will also eat any form of ravioli lol

I can't think of a single thing Chloe has refused either, she pretty much likes everything, it's more quantity as some days she just doesn't eat a full meal and other times she is a little gannet. Sometimes she can be fussy, she will eat potato skins but they have to be just so for her, or bread crumbs on fish fingers - but she still likes them if they come a certain way, so food doesn't get refused and she will always try and then pick around the below standard items if I haven't cooked them to her approval - but only those two items :haha:. She has even eaten black pudding which is a yuck for me!

We have had a few more words here and there lately too, this weekend she has revealed she can say 'bubble', 'choc' and 'please'. She can also repeat 'bobble' now but if I ask her what it is she doesn't say it. I find it weird at the moment as she has said 'cat' and 'doggy' for a long time but they did animals at nursery and now all she says is 'meow' or 'woof' rather than the name.

Earl mixes his animals up lol. Some are the proper names, some are the noises. Example is he says cow, pig, duck, dog but he calls sheep 'baas' He does say sheep but it comes out of Beep!

Ya, Missy called elephants a *raspberry* sound lol. And a frog is a "jump jump" (words + action!) A dog, sometimes she'll say daag but most the time when I ask her "what's that" she'll say "Grrrrr" for a growl lol

Anyone elses kid sound like they are talking proper Chinese when they are babbling? I aint even kidding .. she sounds like a Chinese person talking lol.

we took Milo to the beach yesterday (sunday). he had such a blast and loved playing in the water :D

Morning ladies. I was just about to type out a nice long reply, when one of Roo's toys (ELC Happyland Windmill) suddenly started playing its tune with no-one near it... Not only freaky, but somehow it was loud enough to wake Roo up :dohh: She slept through DH's motorbike starting up and going past her window, but the windmill tune? Right awake.

Will try and catch up properly later :D Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all,

Morning ladies. I was just about to type out a nice long reply, when one of Roo's toys (ELC Happyland Windmill) suddenly started playing its tune with no-one near it... Not only freaky, but somehow it was loud enough to wake Roo up :dohh: She slept through DH's motorbike starting up and going past her window, but the windmill tune? Right awake.

Chloe used to have some toys, a Tomy duck, cow and sheep that made noises and played tunes . . . they she drooled on them and afterwards they would always go off, I'd be lying in bed, 1am and hear them set off, totally freaked me out! Batteries went out ASAP I can tell you!

Missys toys do this when the batteries are getting low. Freaks me out.

One time we were having a really bad storm and a crack of lightening went off and set all her toys in the house off!

Argh we are having a rubbish time atm! Party and wedding on Saturday were awesome. But he woke up at 6.30am yesterday with a temp of 39.3! So off to the out of hours drs we went to be told he has a viral infection, give him calpol and nurofen (was already doing this) and make sure he has plenty of fluids. Spent the whole day yesterday trying desperately to get him to drink, fighting to get meds into him, and ended up syringing juice into him! Put him up to bed at about 8.15pm and half an hour later he was awake screaming, and choking on his own saliva. So we had another trip to out of hours at 9.30pm! Checked him over again and decided that cos his temp was still so high and his throat was very inflamed that he has a throat infection and put him on antibiotics. So I had him in my bed last night and he woke practically every hour coughing and crying. Having to pin him to get meds into him and hes attached to me constantly. Had to take today off to look after him.

Oh LK that sounds awful :( I feel for you - Romilly wasn't well just over a week ago, with a virus that sounds very similar to what James has. It was horrible :( I really hope that he starts to feel better soon :hugs: :hugs:

The Happyland Windmill is firmly switched off at the moment - the thing drives me nuts :dohh: It seems to take only the slightest movement to set it going, and it's usually at the point where if I jump with the shock I drop something!

LK: :hugs: Hope James feels better soon :hugs:

So after feeling really nauseous all week, AF arrived yesterday :growlmad: Not the best of days, what with it peeing down all day, and the car in the garage, and OH working away. It's hard not to TTC, even tho we're in theory only NTNP :dohh: Hey ho, we've had a lovely morning however at our parents/tots group end of term party.

:hugs: Colsy, bodies are mean - why do they always act differently and make you think 'hmmm . . . just maybe' only to then have AF arrive :hugs:

Colsy, sorry to hear that. Sometimes it feels like our bodies can be our own worst enemies  Fingers crossed that you get a BFP soon :hugs:

LK - how is James?

Colsy - sorry to hear that the witch got you. :hugs:

LK - hope James is feeling better and the antibiotics are working.

Not a lot going on here at the moment. Off to get new shoes tomorrow for all of us. Earl's are far far too small and hubby's have holes in the soles!

Morning all, bit rough here been up most of the night. J finally settled but im off out today so pointless going back to bed for an hour. Going to see if I can get some crocs later and N needs some slippers as he pinches everybody else's :haha:

I agree with kaites colsy our bodies are our worst enemies sometimes. :hugs:

milo skipped his nap today, as well as 2 days before. he's never done that before. i hope he's not getting ready to give up naps! i need them!! :dohh: :haha:

Chloe did this to me at the weekend too - not impressed! Although I let her sleep in a little so this maybe why, I think I prefer my nap break to my lie in! :haha: Hope he gets back into naps for a little longer for you.

Aimee: Your hubby's shoes sound like my trainers  I can't help it, they are just nice comfy shoes and I can not find a suitable replacement :haha: Hope you manage to kit eveyone out with some nice new ones.

Fraggles :hugs: Hope J gives you an easy day bless him, hope he is okay :flower:

Not much else going on here. Sick of debt companies calling me at work. We send them letters and they manage to get my work number from gawd knows where. Its so embaressing and darn frustrating, we sort the issue with one company and they pass it onto another and the whole chase and stress happens again.

Anyways . . . Nij is off again until Friday. So just me and lil miss for a few days :) She said peek-a-boo this morning, totally surprised me! Although yesterday wasn't so good as she bit someone at nursery. She was told off and I gave her a mini talking to this morning so hopefully we won't have any repeats. Lil madam.
