Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Baby George 236.jpg

Hi Girls here is a updated pic of George, and hes smiling xxxxxx

hes such a pleasant baby, im over the moon with him xxxxxxxxxx

Morning ladies, Noah and myself met some ladies from the forum yesterday and went shopping. He was a star and slept most of it. Got him a new play thing which will let him have tummy time so going to try that today.

He's sleeping better now we are putting him in his chair. I think lying down is causing issues due to wind and to a cold. Poor little mite.

Sam76 ~ Awh gorgeous pic of George :D

Maffie ~ hope Noah likes his new play thing :)

Afternoon ladies. We have had a lovely morning. Baby group was great and we made a reindeer from his feet and hand prints, and a bauble for the tree. Then we went for lunch with my friend and her baby. Just got home! Can't wait to show OH what we made :)

Afternoon all

Feeling a bit down today but cant really get it all out on here, heads not straight.

Noah was weighed today and he's now 8lbs 11oz, slow but steady weight increase. Took him to doctors today as he vomited blood, but it turns out my poor nipples are bleeding when he feeds. They never fully recovered after the thrush so are sensitive even though he's latched on well.

Hope you start to feel better soon. We're all here if you do want to chat.

Gosh, scary! I remember my MW talking about babies bringing up blood and it turning out to be bleeding nipples, but even though I know that I would still be terrified if Monty brought up blood. Just can't be too careful, can you. I hope your breasts get back to normal soon - must be hard work BF when you're sore.

xx

We've had an odd couple of days ... Sunday night was a BAD night, with colic-tastic symptoms. Then yesterday was fine until colic kicked in around the usual 6pm. Then Monty went to bed fine at 11pm and slept for almost six hours compared with his usual 3 or 4 hours! But today ever since lunch he has done NOTHING but eat and cry and we can't work out what is wrong. Does this all sound like another growth spurt to you? Was the sleeping twice as long as usual just a coincidence or is it related to the spurt?

Hi again Maffie, did you meet other Bumpkins, or was it other BnB Manchester lasses? We should try to organise a huge Bumpkins meet - although I guess most people are spaced too far apart for this to work.

BTW, anybody heard from BabyLove, Mer, LindaK or TaylorsMummy? They've all disappeared off the radar lately. Be nice to know they're all OK.

Aimee-Lou, my OH insists I ask you this: is your OH a fan of the movie 'Tremors'?

Hi

I met a couple of Manchester mums and a couple who had travelled further. Noah was the youngest there.

Well i'm meant to be house hunting tosday but not motivated.... looking at knutsford/glossop/north cheshire sort of areas.

Glossop good. I can wave at you if I go up on Kinder for a hike :)

Cosly ~ I have seen that Babylove has been active on Facebook and JLoSommerset, I was wondering about the others myself, as well as Eswift. Lets hope they can get on here at some point too, there seems to little of us left now! I know Bonfloss struggles to get online nowerdays too but her and Rachel are okay. It would be nice to be able to meet up with some of the Bumpkins, like you say I bet we are all quite spaced out, trouble is you, me and Aimee are all classed as Yorkshire but we all know how big Yorkshire actually is!! It would be nice if we could possibly manage a cental meet somewhere and that way people from Manchester (like Maffie) could meet as that's not too far away from my neck of the woods either really.

LittleKitten ~ that sounds like such a nice keepsake, I really need to be a bit more brave and get my act to go to one of these groups, I just feel a little daft as Chloe is only just a month gone  I suppose there is not harm in enquiring with some places to see if it's okay.

Maffie ~ sorry to hear your having a rought time and hope that you feel more up to house hunting soon :flower:

I failed in finding a suitable place to take Chloe swimming but there is a new swimming pool under development where I live so I will try again once that is opened.

I am going to meet my friend tomorrow in town so its an adventure taking Chloe on the bus, I hope the weather is decent enought. I am popping into work first to pay my Christmas lunch money, excited! Saddo eh! I am getting everything ready tonight incase Chloe is grizzily in the morning. I have a few other outdoor errands to run as well. I am getting quite excited, haven't been out the house since Sunday and this will be the first time I take Chloe out on my own too!

Let us know how you get on with using the bus. Are you taking the pram or sling? I'm keen to get out on the bus with Monty but I can't remember whether our local buses are buggy-friendly.

I will :) I am taking the pram  It's just more rain-proof than my sling (I need to invest in a better one really). I know that the bus I want to get is pram friendly, its just a case of if there are already people with prams on there but they are every 10 mins so I should be okay and not having to hang around too long.

Right off to rescue my daugher as she was asleep on OH but he now asleep too and now he is fidgiting and she is slowly falling between him and the couch! :dohh:

Hi Ladies!!!!!

Colsy - YES!!! OH loves the film Tremors (I think....can't get hold of him at work to check but he loves that kind of thing! lol)

Kte - Enjoy the bus! We took Earl on the bus to get to hospital the other day and it's amazing how many people just talk to you becuase you have a tiny baby in tow lol.

We Should have a meet! Kte - I think that you and I are pretty close (i'm classed as York but I'm sort of half way between York and Hull). Helz81 and I are pretty close geographically too- think she's in Goole. It's difficult though....maybe a virtual meet in the chatroom?! lol

Earl and I have had a pretty good day. He slept pretty much all afternoon so is now kicking the blue blazes out of his play mat! lol We're off out christmas shopping tomorrow to get the last few bits....I've ordered some teats from mothercare and got Earl a 2009 Xmas bear! :happydance: I'm really looking forward to going out tomorrow though.....should be fun and It will be lovely to get out of the house!

Is it me or are the days just so much shorter nowadays?! I mean, I'm up at 5am with Earl, I sometimes manage a couple of hours more then leave hubby in bed to get some housework done. He then goes to work at 12noon. I take the tribe out for a walk, have lunch, pootle on here, more housework, deal with Earl, and before I know it it's 6pm and I have to stick the hot water on, remember to have some food and think about bedtimes!! Hubby then gets home at 9pm and I then cook us a quick tea (mmmm fresh pasta!! lol) and then off to bed at about 10.30.........It goes so quickly and I seem to have nothing to show for it apart from a few loads of washing that have moved from one side of the house to the other! :dohh:

Anyhoo....Earl's obviously beaten up his playmat enough! Speak to you later on girls....hope tonight is ok for everyone :hugs:

You DO have something to show for it - a healthy happy baby :) Read the book "what mothers do, especially when it looks like nothing". You will feel that you have most definitely done stuff then. I know what you mean though!

Gotta go and tell OH about Tremors, ha ha :)

Well James is sound asleep in his bed! Quite shocked really cos normally when I try to put him down at this time he grizzles and needs more milk to go to sleep. Tonight he had 2oz and went straight down. Sure he will wake by 8pm but we will see how he gets on. Had a nice bath before a bottle and bed so perhaps that was the key. Don't always get time to bath him at that time of night though because OH has usually gone back to work at 5.30pm but tonight he didn't have to go back til 6 so he could help me. Not that he did anything more than get the bath and fill it up lol. I'm making spaghetti bolegnese for dinner tonight yummy. Sat watching scrubs for 10 minutes while I get up the energy to finish my housework lol. Oh spoke too soon. James is now crying lol.

I'd love to meet you all, i'm Manchester but spend so much time in Yorkshire as parents are there. (i'm never one to turn down a day somewhere new to have a look around)

Kte what sling do you use? I'm wanting to turn into a baby wearing mummy. I get the pram about everywhere, been on the buses and trams but would love to be able to strap him on and go too.
