Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

Er, 5 not counting the new one, which arrives tonight - thankfully my parents have got a 1yr warranty with this one! :haha: So 6 in total, which is crazy considering I am not a pram-a-holic, damn things just break on me too easily!

I still have the spare cosy-toes cover, moses bed bit and poss a spare rain cover for the 3D if you decide to keep it, if not no worries

I just managed to scoop up 5x Maisy mouse books at Pound Land. Chloe loves them so at £1 each I snapped them up! Can't wait for her to see them. Think I am pretty much done now though! She has a pile and more are to come tonight, so spending is curbed, as I still need to sort out her current toys!

Hopefully we are taking Chloe to see Santa on Friday at a garden centre, I'm excited! It's so nice that she is learning about Christmas and getting a bit excited, even though she isn't sure why she should be! What about everyone else? :flower:

We saw Santa a couple of weeks ago and it did not go well- not too sure if it's just an age thing or the fact that the same Santa visited her in hospital last year... either way I'm sure Em scared a few of the other kids waiting in line with her screams :haha:

Xmas shopping is all done here and I thought it was all wrapped until I discovered that hubby has a stash of Emma gifts in the linen closet :dohh: House needs a major tidy-up but there is no point of doing it until Friday once the kids have left the house.

What's everyone up to over the holidays? We're staying home but having my parents, brother and hubby's brother and gf over for the weekend. Pretty low key- lots of food and drink for the adults and a truck load of toys for Emma. I'm really looking forward to it since last year's xmas was such a wash-out

We're seeing Santa on Friday too!!!!

Earl met santa on Saturday when the lions came around with their float fund raising. I took Earl out to meet him (gave them £1 lol) and santa gave him a snickers from a tin of celebrations. Now, whenever you see Santa on the tv or even a santa hat, he'll say 'SANTA'S COMING SOON' really loud, closely followed by 'Bringing Sweeties!!!!' :haha:

Not a lot else going on here. Still at work til tomorrow night but I'm hoping to go and get the bulk of the food shopping done tomorrow morning so we only have to collect the turkey and get a few last minute presents/treats on friday before heading off to see Santa on his special train! So excited! lol

I am working tonight, then tomorrow we are heading off to do the last minute food shopping, making the biscuits for the christmas hamper, and cleaning the house ready for the onslaught.

I have a poorly James again. Hes not slept properly for the last 3 nights bless him. Mum took him to the drs this afternoon when I was in bed and he has antibiotics to start tomorrow if hes not better. I have a cold and sinusitis again....and to top off a bad day AF has finally made her appearance....10 days late and with a whole bunch of cramps. Grrr.

I hoping lots of rest here. One poorly mummy, 1 poorly boy and 1 teething baby, Way way too many toys have been bought.

Fraggles- How's N doing now?

I hope everyone is healthy by Christmas! We've all got sniffles here but fingers crossed that's as bad as it gets...

We seem to be ok so far (touch wood). I've had a few pregnancy related issues (tired and sicky feeling through over-doing it and carrying the turkey home!)

I have finally got all the shopping done. We are not going anywhere tomorrow. I have a bit of cleaning to do in the morning and I have to wrap ALL of my presents that I've bought for hubby and for Earl. Hubby is going to help me with Earl's tomorrow evening though so good news lol. Just ordered a takeaway for tonight though as we've had a busy day meeting Santa and collecting our 10lb turkey!!!! Only just fitted in the fridge and I managed to cook half the cheeses against the bulb in the fridge as a result! Still, we have enough food the sink a ship, presents galore all around, and a full TV schedule including 'Day of the Diesels' on channel 5 at 7am tomorrow. I know I know crazy lol. Full day of baking and prep too so this house will be awash with homemade sausage rolls, mince pies and redcurrant glazed hams! Yummmmy!

Have a lovely christmas everyone. Hope Santa brings you what you want and it's restful and blessed for you all. xx

N is much better, doc said it was flu meds have helped and he slept a whole day and woke his normal self. Still a little sniffly. My fluid on lung is back but off work now until Thursday.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas for the last few days and a happy Boxing day! :flower:

Er yeah, Friday's Santa visit didn't go down so well. We arrived and they said we had 30mins before Santa was there so as it was midday we decided to get some lunch. Whilst we were there Santa walked through the restaurant, Chloe was so excited, pointing and waving and got quite upset when he left so we promised her we would find him soon. After finishing up we walked through a Winter Wonderland with moving reindeer, Christmas trees, snow men (Chloe calls them 'man') and dancing penguins, it was all very pretty. Then we turn a corner and there was this huge troll/goblin thing in there (freaking out most the kids) and it was singing Christmas tunes but certainly was the oddest thing to see there! Chloe decided she liked it which was a relief as it was right outside the door to Santa's grotto! After a little wait it was time to go in and she just clung onto me, every time she almost came around to the idea of Santa she freaked again, he gave her stickers, let her ring a bell (which broke, doh!) and tried befriending her teddy but to no avail. So this years picture she is really upset but at least she wasn't hiding her face like at the start. She did give Santa a nice wave when it was time to leave bless her! She then got to go choose any toy she wanted and there was a bit of a selection. But she still seem's quite excited about Santa even after that experience!!

Aimee: I popped the Thomas special on record, Chloe was up but was in a Peppa mood :haha: Hope your not feeling too sickly now and he been able to put your feet up now. Wowzers that's a big Turkey, shame about the cheeses!

LK: Hope James is feeling better now, did he end up on the medication in the end? :hugs:

Fraggles: Hope your feeling better and the fluid clears up soon for you. Glad N is feeling better, hope he has fully recovered now and that J's teethies have cut or calmed a bit for him :hugs:

Kaites: Hope you had a really nice 'quiet one'. Sounds like lots of fun :) {Plus hope those sniffles stayed away!

Chloe seem's to be having a good Christmas, tonight is the second night she has gone to bed early, I suspect its the lack of naps but she just refuses to sleep during her usual nap time so I don't try and force her. It's just odd when she falls asleep at 6pm. She is getting up at the usual time which is okay, so long as that isn't brought forward I can cope! Nij is back at work for a few days from tomorrow so it will just be me and missy for a few days but we have just been playing most of the time and the occasional film in between with a cuddle so more of the same I think!

4 teeth now Kte they look massive, think the next lot are coming straight through. J is chewing the cot all night long, poor mite.

Any plans for new year folks?

Off shopping tomorrow as ive dropped a dress size while poorly and I went to feed the ducks yesterday and my undies were slipping down under my jeans :haha:

Kte - James hated father christmas too lol. And yes he ended up on the antibiotics. Put him on them on Friday morning cos he sounded dreadful and his temp was so high that he had to go straight in a tepid bath which of course made him scream the house down.

We had a lovely christmas. James was thoroughly spoilt and even got a bike from my sister. Just a flying visit from me I'm afraid! Hope everyone is well.

 i've been watching you all chat. hope everyone has a nice weekend this weekend! time to bring in 2012 when our babies turn THREE! :D

I will be back to chat properly soon . . . and for Colsy when she can have a read . . . fingers crossed for our lovely Flora who's waters broke at 3am this morning and about three hours ago was having contractions at 6mins apart! Good luck Flora and hope you get the water birth you wanted! xxxx

Also, a bit early but HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL :flower:

Happy New Year all and a massive congratulation to Fleur on the safe arrival of her gorgeous daughter.

Congratulations Fleur!!! and welcome to the world Poppy! :flower:

Happy New Year all - how are we all doing? :flower:

I still have my journal to update for over Christmas but I'm in assignment world again.

Forgot to mention, can you believe we used Chloe's new pram once and it broke! Seriously! Some of the sticking came loose - the first day we used it, which was bus journed, fold at nursery, bus journey home  :haha: Managed to get it swapped for a new one over Christmas - thank goodness for the warranty! This one is going strong thankfully!

Fraggles: How's J's 1st birthday preps going? :flower:

Nothing major planned, new discover tent needs assembling and I have the day off work. All pressies not arrived :( Nothing big planned as N having some tummy issues. Worried he may need surgery after all on it. Need to book him back into docs again so he can see his consultant

Awww no :( Hope it doesn't lead to that! Plus, hope J's presants turn up today for him then! :flower: :hugs:

He has his main present. He's fast asleep from all the excitement!

Think the hernias on N are getting worse rather than better and he keeps getting tummy aches. Ive popped pics of the tent in action on fb
