Bumpkins & Babies Chat Thread

I will be back to chat properly soon . . . and for Colsy when she can have a read . . .

 Rushing past. Chat again soon. All great here. Sorry so short but masses to do in about ten minutes (as always!). xxx

 :haha: :hugs:

Hi Ladies,

Well I should be doing my assignment again, has to be in tomorrow. Cant help but munch, all I can say is thank goodness I'm not a full time student or I would be a whale by now! Seriously, final year pressure as well as normal life pressures are not fun. I can do it, its just, I'm tired as I have been to my sisters all weekend. So my own fault but I didn't see her over Christmas so sod it. Plus one of Chloe's fav ducks has done a dissapearing act so its bugging the hell out of me, I have serious OCD when it comes to things like this. I'm just hoping he was left at my sis's by mistake as the home and travel bags have all been turned upside down! I can't rest until I know where he is!

On another note, I'm a bit worried / distressed as Chloe had a nosebleed today. She had one the other week. They haven't been major ones that won't stop but they still make me uneasy. Today she was sat eating her lunch and one of her cousins turned to look at her and realied she had blood coming out of her nose (I was sat behind her as we were having an indoor pick-nic watching Peppa Pig lol) I cleaned her up and she seems fine but thats just what freaks me out, she hadn't seriously hit her head, she was sat still so not overheated and she wasn't overly warm either. It was very odd. To be fair, I did suffer from them when I was little, and so did my Sis and my nephew, so it may be she is going to have the same, and obv I'm pretty apt at dealing with a nosebleed, its just the whole - why is she having them? I checked the NHS website and it said to mention it to a GP when I next go, so its not major but something to say. I just hope she is okay.

kte- :hugs: good luck with school. hopefully you can find her duck!

things have been alright over here for the most part  havent really been updating on BnB lately  but i've been trying to post in my parenting journal

:hi:
Kte- Hope you find the duck soon! I'm a bit the same with the toys too- we have a tiny Boots the Monkey figurine that has gone missing somewhere in the basement and it's been driving both hubby and I crazy. Is it possible that the cold, dry weather is causing the nosebleeds? My dad had that problem for a while and the doc just told him to smear a touch of KY just inside his nostrils a couple of times a day to keep them hydrated

Flora- How are things going with the new baby? coongrats on her arrival! :flower:

I've posted this: https://www.babyandbump.com/toddler...ing-number-little-accidents.html#post14941793 Any thoughts, anyone?

Awww, Florabean, big congrats. And I LOVE the name Poppy. I haven't read any posts from you - so tell me ... How was the birth? When did she arrive? How big? Are you all coping well? How is Harry dealing with the sudden change in life?

We had a splendid Xmas and new year. Really really loved it this year - so much better than the last two :happydance:

Today is my second proper day at work since very early in December, so it feels REALLY weird! I ain't feeling like working at all - I'd rather be having fun.

All is well with my world - apart from AF arrived this morn. I knew it was coming, as I had a migraine that started Monday and didn't shift for 36 hours. Toddler group with a migraine isn't amusing :dohh: So yeah, life is good but I do wish we could hurry up and make this baby  I'm not really stressing about it, but I do keep remembering my age has got a number "8" in it and it won't be a huge number of months until the "9" moves in ... And then ...

Am I the oldest lass in our Bumpkins group?!

So, I won't be expecting a glut of replies from you all, because it seems hardly anybody is on here lately - but maybe some of you are reading and not just not writing ... if so, give us a shout, it would be ace to hear from you all.

Love y'all xxx

DUCK WAS FOUND!
I only found him yesterday, 'he' was nestled between another teddy and a chair so Chloe must have had him out of a bag when we got home! Phew!

Colsy: I'm here, we all kinda are, just the silent types at the mo! I'll look at your Potty post tomorrow, I have to dash for the bus soon and I need to shut down my PC and pop to the ladies too! (Sorry TMI!) Glad you have had a fun time over Christmas and New Year :flower:

Kaites: Hope you find Boots! Thanks for the nosebleed tips too, I'll give that a try although she hasn't had another since, maybe it was a cold that set her off.

Milo'sMummy: I keep meaning to ready yous, I come on here, post in Bumpkins and then think about updating Chloe's journal too but I have so much to catch up on and I had my assignemnt so things have been on the backburner.

Hi all (and Colsy...hi!)

All's well here. I'm doing well but a bit shattered from work and a few stresses but all in all it's going well. Earl is great. We had a quick go at potty training but Earl is, as usual, more worried about other things in life lol. He is doing well (and will come and get me to 'go toilet' but you have to be quick otherwise you miss it :dohh:)

Not a lot of excitement here really. Hubby is back to Uni next week, Earl is back at the CM's and school now so it's situation normal (hence the lack of posts I suppose - no news is good news kind of thing).

Colsy - glad you had a good christmas!

Im here just busy with work upcoming job interview and issues with nursery. Blood boils when I just say the word nursery at the minute.

Not sure of all our ages im guessing im middle to top end of the pack

28 here - not bad but not good lol

We're having childminder issues here - hubby's timetable meant that we needed Earl to be with the CM til at least 6.30 but the CM wouldn't go past 7. We have an appointment to meet with another, more flexible CM tomorrow who hopefully will be able to take him for the next 10-12 weeks until I start maternity leave. Really annoying that we're having to do this so close to finishing, and work weren't willing to help me. I've got to ring my manager on Monday as we have this week to try to figure out as obviously the CM wont be able to take him from monday (or I don't think she can lol....you never know). We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Fraggles - sorry to hear you're having issues. Hope things get cleared up for you.

I think I'm the second oldest

Things are busy here too- I've been lurking but busy planning out the entire year of daycare activities. Emma's language development is really coming along and is very chatty these days which is fun :) Not much else new here though

Hope everyone is well :hugs:

Afternoon all

27 when I had Chloe; its 'the big 30' this year for me! I'm pretty sure we have discussed it before but I can't remember what the outcome was :haha:

Kaites: Wow, a full year, that is super organised but I guess it certainly helps. I can't believe it will be soon time to be making easter costumes again, perhaps I had best start now this year :haha:

Fraggles: So upsetting about the Nursery N goes/went to, certainly gives others a bad name and adds to the horror stories. I hope you give them what for :hugs: What are you planning on doing with him now? Finding another or an alternative? :flower: When is the interview? :flower:

Aimee: Hope you manage to get a CM sorted for Earl, what a pain.

All is fine this end, Chloe seems to be really into sounds at the minute, how about other Bumpkins? What I mean is, she will hear something and ask "what's that?" To practically anything and everything at the moment, even if she knows what it is! Although she doesn't like the heating pipes in her bedroom, they wake her at night, they scare her a little so not sure how to deal with this one fully, just giving her cuddles and reassurement at the moment. She points to the radiator and says "noisy".

Kte - Earl will ask 'What's that noise?' to everything, then make his own guess as to what the noise is. Sometimes he's right - the bin lorry going past 'sounds like lorry' - but sometimes he's not so - the washing machine emptying 'sounds like trumps!' lol

I think we have the CM sorted. I'm off today with him, but yesterday we went to meet a CM who would be able to take him Mondays and Tuesdays 2-7pm. Bonus is that that is all the childcare we need now as hubby's timetable is good apart from those sodding 6pm finishes lol. I've got to take him round in a few minutes (it's 10 mins walk up to the road lol) to do the paperwork and to let him meet with the assistant she has and the other children who are there when he is. He'll start properly tomorrow (thought that was ok as it's just one day, then next week he does 2 days). Only slight fly in the ointment is our old CM needs 4 weeks notice and because of the upheaval we still haven't given it (will have to wait until tomorrow now). We've already paid for January up front, so will have to pay the first 2 weeks of feb as per contract. Thankfully our new CM is cheaper and the fewer hours means that we have halved our childcare costs - plus it's only for 10 weeks. :happydance: and she's happy for him to finish at Easter.

Other than that it's all good. I think having the day off today has really helped me all around as I'm suffering with insomnia (just like last time) but of course with working, I'm struggling to keep myself going. But today we lazed around, went to Tesco's and have just got back. Have to go out again as I say for about an hour or so but then hubby wont be home til 6.30 at the earliest I reckon.

Have to laugh - Earl is sat watching the snooker (he watches it with his Daddy lol) and is cheering on Judd Trump while repeating all the scores the ref says lol. Bless him he gets all the colours right too. 'Come on Judge!' lol

aimee- good luck with the new CM. Earl sounds like fun! Milo's new thing is mimicking everything he sees on his cartoons. he has them memorized :dohh:

Hi girls. How is everyone? Havn't had access to a computer for a while. So we are doing pretty well. I got offered a job in NICU this week so I'm super excited! James's speech is coming along in leaps and bounds. He can do his colours and count to 13 without help, and copies me from 14 to 20 lol. He's not doing too badly with his tantrums now that he can vocalise alot better. I'm feeling thoroughly fed up of being alone though. Been 14 months now since Tom left. Was seeing this guy for the last 2 weeks and he decided yesterday that he just wants to be friends. So I'm a bit gutted cos we click so so well.

Hello all how are we doing. The kids are doing great and I have an interview for a new job next week *yikes* and I went on a date yesterday

good luck Fraggles  how was the date ;)

so what is everyone's LOs doing nowadays? like what are things they talk about? games they like to play, etc.

Sorry to hear things didn't go so well with the new guy LK but super congratulations on the new job!! Hurray! :hugs: :flower:

Good luck for the job interview Fraggles ~ how did the date go?!!

Chloe made a new friend at the weekend, one of the Roller Derby Mum's little girl who just turned two. We had a bath accident yesterday, Chloe has this bath mitt that's a cat and she likes to stick it to the side of the bath, she was kneeling down but slipped when she bent forward and bit into her bottom lip  I cleaned her up but she didn't want to get out the bath, a few shock tears and she was happily playing again. Looked awful though.

We seemed to have sussed the night time pipes - after stories and I sing to her she has a Peppa Pig CD on with nursery rhymes. I'm not really keen on her getting used to sleeping with it on but its something that actually works and I am sure is better than her being spooked by pipes.

:flower:

Kte - hope Chloe is ok. That's almost the same as what happened to Earl. His looked really bad (A&E trip worthy lol) but the glue etc wouldn't work. He now has a bit of a scar (chicks dig scars! lol).

Yeah date was good meeting up again soon when schedules allow it. Hope Chloe is ok

She is thanks :flower: Just a little swelling on her lip and some broken skin but it's healing nicely, she likes to suck her lip in and out and make silly noises because of it!

Thats good Fraggles :flower:
