I am so not letting my OH read this- he's begging for some nookie time too & I'm too scared so I told him I'm not done healing yet, even though I looked with the mirror & it all seems fine down there, lol. I'm making him wait for a while longer yet so I can psych myself up for it!!!!!!

lol iv done exactly the same. I pretty much feel back to normal but im sooooo scared. The annoying thing is he does manage to get me 'in the mood' but the idea of proper physical contact down there is terrifying =s
plus i had a look with a mirror and im permanantly scarred! I had a labia tear and didnt have it stitched and now its healed up but it looks like theres a bit missing out of it. like its healed apart.
its horrible, i nearly cried wen i saw it - im all lopsided
on a brighter note tommy slept from 2am till 8am last night XD XD
It was like a ful nights sleep! Hes growing so much i cant believe it, hes gone up a size in nappies!
better go tho, think he wants feeding,

Re the sex, that's the same for me. I had an episiotomy, that kinda goes diagonally outwards & downwards from my V to inside leg, and I split my external stitches 6 days afterwards, so it's healed apart.... All I keep telling myself is that I am covered in scars on my arms & thighs & knees (am very accident prone & was also in a car crash 4 yrs ago) & my Oh doesn't mind them at all, so I figure, maybe he wont mind the fact I'm scarred down there too.

Harry has finally caught my cough... I knew it was only a matter of time, lol. He has no temperature & is still feeding well, so i'm, not too worried. Got HV on weds so if he's any worse, I'll ask her if she thinks he needs a doc or anything. Sure he'll be fine tho.

Anyone heard from Maffie? I just saw on her FB status that baby Noah is in hospital, but it doesn't say why... Hope he's ok???

Re: sex - for want of a better expression, I want to get back on the horse lol. It's good exercise, and despite the 'trauma' I don't feel too bad (my tear was only minor....I'm convinced it was Earl's fingernails as his arm came first, a bit like Superman! lol) and everything else is gradually making it's way back to it's natural home......

Really funny, Earl was awake for about 2 hours this afternoon none stop. He had some fun in him bouncy chair for the first time, hit the dog a couple of times and generally made his presence felt. I fed him at about 3 and he's been asleep since then....woke up for a feed about 7ish and is now fast out. I can see another long night ahead Midwife tomorrow and she's doing his weigh in and guthrie.....FX everything is ok and I think he's gained weight/grown as his Newborn gro's (the Mothercare ones that were a little on the baggy side) are on the cusp of not fitting already so 0-3months here we come!!

Time for cake and tea and James Bond!

im wondering if wanting sex is a side effect of giving birth lol ive read and heard of lots of people wanting it! even me and i havent done it since we conceived sam!! i was lucky no tears or anything so all is ok down there but im too scared that i'll get pregnant again, sorry but dont do condoms!!! gonna try make an appointment to get the implant put back in next week hopefully so i wont have to worry.

Sam is 4 weeks today Its gone so fast. Not sure what he weighs now but we can go to baby clinic on tuesday to find out, he's feeding very well so i expect he's put on quite a bit.

Hope Maffie's Noah is ok.

I hope Maffie doesn't mind mind m putting this on here: on her FB it says Noah came up in a rash & had a high temp & she put that they'll be in hosp tll tues coz they have to wait for the blood cultures to grow so they can see if he needs antibiotics or anything. Hope he'll be okay...

OH & I are so loved up and yet so tired don't think the thought of a bit of the other has even crossed him mind... LOL time yet, and it's still very early days...

Sleep is definately a luxury and something we're all missing... Right I'll be on later, need to dress, wash; get madame sorted and walk DS to school all in about 30 mins... LOL talk about a challenge! Ready steady GO!?!?!

Re: sex (again I'm not obsessed honest lol) - I thought it was a 'see how you feel' kind of affair. If it hurts stop but it can't do any harm and surely it's good for the old tummy muscles which mine seem to have gone on a permanent holiday at the moment! lol

Earl had an interesting night.....I think i'm getting too nervous about the whole MW/HV thing. I know that they are just here to keep an eye and to check he's thriving....not to judge us but I hate the thought of someone coming in and telling us how to raise our child! It's really got my back up that we can't go anywhere until the MW has called/been today and it's beautiful - perfect for a stroll into the village in the sunshine.

Anyhoo......enough griping, I can tell that these visits are going to be a bugbear! lol

Looks like Earl is making a move so time for a quick top and tail and change before we're fully co-herent! lol

aimee-lou, I know what you mean about having to wait in for the HV. It's frustrating, espcially when you've you've got things to do!

Kte: congratulations hun; so glad Chloe made it as a Bumpkin afterall!

All: I'm gonna keep the birth thread going in 3rd tri until the middle of this month, as some of the ones due nearer the end of October will have gona overdue etc & I don't want to miss anyone out, lol, even if they are late, lol. If any of you know any of the 'missing' births, like from FB or on here that I might have missed, let me know & I'll update it. I am also a bit of a stats geek, so when I'm pretty sure everyone has popped so to speak, I'll do some Bumpkin stats, like average weight, most popular boy/girl name, day most babies were born etc etc... (yeah, I really am that sad, and besides, when Harry's asleep & there's no housework or errands to do & it's raining outside, other than have a cuppa & a choccy biscuit, what else is a girl to do?!) So far, 60+ girls & 70+ boys... Aiden/Aidyn seems to be very popular as a name so far, hehe.

Anyways, I hope all of you are well & that your babies are thriving.

Harry still has his cough, but again, no temperature or anything & in himself seems perfectly normal, so I'm not worried about him. Got a busy day on weds, with me having my flu jabs (ick), then Harry getting weighed at the HV clinic (easier than waiting in all day I figure), then I'm gonna be brave & go to the local breastfeeding mums group, which I've found out meet 10 mins walk from where I live at the church hall, and they have trained lactation specialists, so I figure it could be a handy contact & maybe meet some more mums out there as I dont know many people where I live. Hopefully they wont be too in your face & pro-BFing or have any slightly weirdo mums that still BF their 10 yr olds or anything

Anyways, better get back to my little Harrybo.

Hey girls. Had a much better night last night. James had a feed at 9pm and then a little top up at 10.30....and then slept til 4.15am!! Was bliss. Spent the day at Milton Keynes doing christmas shopping today. Got myself 2 new tshirts and 2 new winter jumpers. Was so nice to be able to go into a shop and buy normal clothes hehehe. We were meant to be going to see my family but they have colds so we decided not to go cos we didn't want him to get poorly....then OH picked up DSS last night and he has a bloody stinking cold. Great. So we may as well have gone back and seen everyone cos he is bound to get a cold anyway.

Maffie - hope Noah gets better soon. Hugs to you all.

Kte - Congrats! So glad you had a little bumpkin after all that. Can't wait to see pics and hear all the details.

Congratulations Kte, chloe is a lovely name
Had to take Tommy to get his Vit K update today, he had it orally at birth and the midwife forgot to give him his update at 7 days i only realised the other day wen i was reading my labour notes, felt sooo guilty for forgetting.
As for the sex thing i keep thinking im ready and eager and then it gets to bedtime and i find myself muttering excuses about feeling sore, not having healed, tired etc etc
my poor OH is getting desperate i think, i feel sorry for him but im so scared that its gonna hurt? Lol i feel like a virgin again
Anyway iv promised toad in the hole for dinner and Tommy needs his bath so id better be off
Hope all the bumpkins and mummys (and daddys!) r doing well

Evening everyone!

Well the MW finally showed up at 5.30pm! We had waited in all day, no notice and only a phone call when she couldn't find the house. I am also a little bit upset by the whole thing as I just feel a little bit trapped by it all....I hate being watched at the best of times!

Still, they did his guthrie so fingers crossed for that! He has put on 1.5oz so he's now 9lb7.5oz.....little monkey! He's been awake since 4pm and only just gone down so hoping for a lengthy bit of sleep now although being stripped off and weighed really stressed him out.

I've also been told that I need to massage his arm and shoulder....he's had a lazy arm since birth (we think it was a bit of a tight squeeze and it's bruised him a bit) - he has been moving it more each day but it's still noticeably limp at times. Still, it doesn't hurt him too much......if anyone has had a bruised bone they will know how uncomfortable it can me.

Anyhoo's...next visit isn't until Friday, HV coming on Thursday and I have to make a GP's appointment about his arm (I don't know why but I feel really upset about this - feel like a bad mum which I know is a total exaggeration!)

Yay, Harry is now 4 weeks old Can't believe it's been 4 weeks already. It's going too quickly!
On a downside, to add to his little cough, he is now full of cold bless him.
But on a good note, I finally fitted into a pair of my old jeans today (well, technically yesterday now since it's past midnight) so that made me feel good & then had a lovely soak in the bath tonight too.
Got a man coming to fix my oven (t's not heating up, but the hob & grill are still working fine) tomorrow. Hoping he doesn't come too early coz me & Harry dont do early mornings, lol.

Anyways.... for those of you interested, some of the Bumpkin stats SO FAR are:
most popular boys name: Aiden (James was the popular middle name)
most popular girls name: Emily (Louise & Grace the most popular middle names)
Average weight so far: 7lbs 3oz.
Day most babies were born: 15th Oct. (11 babies)
Heaviest Baby: Elaine Gees boy Zander at 11lbs!
Lightest Baby: Moonlight34's boy Owen at 1lb 14oz (one of the triplets)
Most overdue baby: Smallfry's little girl was 16 days late. (JLoSomerset's little boy Aidyn was the 2nd most overdue so far.)

These could change though, as there's still a few more to drop & some who haven't been online for a couple of weeks too.

Re: sex- yikes, scary thought... I'm putting it off until after my 6 week doc appointment. Emma's fast descent down the birth canal left me with a lacerated cervix- I assume the stitches and everything have healed but I can't really grab a mirror and take a peek, iykwim. Poor OH- he knows I've got the desire, just not the courage yet!

Hope all the mums and bumpkins had a good day. Ours started off really well but then Emma decided to feed for the whole afternoon, from 11am to 5pm!! Argh- it sounds terrible, but I really hope she isn't going through another growth spurt. I had to put away a bunch of her 3 mth clothes this morning because she's already outgrown them and moved onto 6 mth sized- too chubby and too long for the 3mth. Anyway, I've attached a couple of halloween pics of my chunky monkey. Of course she decided to spit up right after I put her in our only orange coloured t-shirt...
