Kte - I hate to say it but I think I would change CM! She seems to be very set in everything happening her way or the high way! I would be furious with her. I have only just started weaning James. And that is on a mixture of things and go ahead from the HV. I would say her chewing her hands and stuff is as you think, teething! The vast majority of babies ram everything into their mouths as soon as they learn how to. Doesn't mean they want food. You know Chloe best and I wouldn't let some woman who hasn't looked after a kid for 2 years tell you what is best for YOUR baby.

Hi ladies, not posted in ages so hope all well. Can I ask what you do during the week to entertain your babies? We go to a baby group on a Monday and have gone along to toddlers but still a bit early for this. I am keen to take Rachel swimming but need to pluck up the courage to do it alone as hubby not got much time off. Just looking for some new ideas.

Kte - childminder is way out of line, will text you.

xx

Happy Tuesday girls!

It's bloody snowing here again. It's like Autumn's 16th "1st snow" haha. Its starting to stick, but I'm hoping we won't get that much.

She had some vaccinations today. We can't use plasters on her legs any more, because like me, the glue burns her skin. She had a horrible eczema outbreak from the last ones.

Also .. she's totally sitting up by her self. :cry:I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm happy!! But it means shes not so little any more. She's also trying to crawl now. It's the funniest thing because she can push up really well on her arms and get her chest off the floor, and she can also get her legs under her belly and push .. now these two skills are GREAT by them selves .. but when she combines the two she face plants the floor every time haha. She gets right pissed off!!

Here's a lil pic of her sitting. omg, if any of you find one of these bouncing tiggers .. they are GREAT .. she thinks it so funny lol. Look at that lil porker belly haha.

Sam ~ Aw, sorry to hear about Georges bruises :( Sometimes those people are rough!

Aimee ~ Cauliflower! :) Hope Mr.E gets in a better mood!

Kte ~ How scary for your sissy. Fingers crossed for her!!

Re Aunt flo .. I'm back on my normal 28 days cycle, on for 4 days. But then I'm not back on the pill yet either. Have that app/smear on the 10th.

Flora ~ Aww poor Harry. I wonder why babies are so susceptible to ear infections. I have a few friends who's LO's get it a lot. A good "natural" product for ear infections (if you'd like to try and avoid antibiotics) is Colloidal Silver drops. Have a google and see what you think.

Ok time for my lunch!

Hmm well I'm part of a mummy's stay at home group on meetup.com. Fabulous bunch of girls. We have 3 or 4 playgroups a week (at peoples house) I try and get her out for a walk at least once a day cause she's like me and hates being cooped up all day. When at home, I alternate her between her jumparoo, excer-saucer, swing and then sitting/tummy time on the floor. I also sometimes just give her a brown paper bag to play with .. she LOVES crunching it up. Or I'll stick her in her high chair with a teether biscuit, or a few of her spoons, they keep her entertained for HOURS.

Kte - I agree entirely with the other ladies. I was going to write that if she carries on, look around for an alternative but I thought maybe I was being a bit harsh. It's the 2nd time she's tried to get you to question your decisions as a parent (to my memory anyway)....that is the eqivilant of a waitress telling you whether or not you would like something off the menu. Only you know what's right for your baby. She can 'recommend' something, but if you say no she should respect that.

We had apple for tea in the end and it went down well. Earl actually skipped a bottle tonight (had been having food at 3, 5 and 7 as well as his solids, but today had food at 3 and 7 :happydance: I think we may be on the way down from the peak of the growth spurt

Just had the most wonderful bath! I've started to have 1 evening a week if hubby is on lates just to myself....no housework, quick and easy tea (jacket potatoes) and some time to myself. It's doing me the world of good, and my house actually looks tidy as the rest of the week I'm on top of everything....except the washing but that's mainly becuase my dryer is out of commission and everything is taking ages to dry in the cold weather :dohh: Sorry, I'm in a bit of a good mood lol

Oh and on the job front, still nothing. If I haven't heard anything by Thursday evening then I can pretty much assume it's a no  Never mind.....I didn't want it anyway  lol

Have a nice evening ladies. I've got another half an hour before I have to bust a move and I plan to drink copious amounts of tea while watching the Hairy Bikers!

Thanks your right, part of me thinks she wants 'Chloe more settled' so she doesn't have to deal with her as much, just wants her to sleep or play without her full attention. the perfect baby kind of thing lol. Chloe is happy when she comes home I can't deny that, but regardless she can be happy other places.

She should listen to and respect our wishes (Nij agrees with me too).

I really rrsent the 'make Chloe happier remark' makes me feel like I am abusing her.

I know some of you ladies are weaning already and I can see why when you talk about your LO's, like we all say, every LO is different, tbh I am surprised Chloe isn't an early weaner in a way as most of my families babies have been but she just isn't ready, Chloe is om HB milk and I think that is still sustaining her.

I know its not you I need to convince tho! You have been very supportive thank you . . . anyone fancy coming with me on Friday as back-up lol, mob her! Seriously though, I think I will need to be extra brave, i'm not that good but I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR CHLOE and I will be brave!

Yanno, the other day, if I ever doubted before that it was too early to wean Autumn, she let know know I was right in my choice. I was holding her in one arm, and picked up a bit of pita bread in the other and turned my head to talk to someone. Next thing I know, I felt it being snatched out my fingers ... I looked around, and there is my daughter, bold as brass, chomping away on it!!

I kinda rolled my eyes, picked up another bit and carried on talking, and again I feel *snatch* .. look around to her having a bit of pita in each hand sucking away!! Blinking kid is gonna be eating a full roast dinner at the end of the week at this rate!!

Bonfloss  Hope you can find some groups and other activities :flower: Im not sure what to , I just used to rotate her toys too or touchy book time. The weather was never that great to take her out and about but I know you do that sometimes anyway :) I'd of loved to have gone swimming but OH wants to join in on her 1st swim and they are still building the pool in our town!

Chaos~ Absolutely gorgeous pic of Autumn, wow its amazing she can sit up! You blink and they grow up sooooo quickly! Bless her face planting, I'm sure she will figure that one out soon too.

Aimee ~ sounds like you have a good routine going :)

LOL bless, I can still remember that video you posted when she was going crazy over her food with the spoon! There is no way she wasn't ready!

Evening ladies. I have a piglet for a son today. He woke at 5.45am and took 6.5oz at around 7am (vomited about 3oz back up), then had 6.5oz at bout 9.30am, followed by baby rice at 9.50am, 7oz at 2.30pm, 7oz at 6.30pm, then had his bath at 8.15pm and another 4oz of milk at 8.30pm!

Kte, if you feel chloe isnt ready then you do as you wish, she's your baby not the child minders. TBH i think i would've lost it with the CM by now and probably told her to f off and take chloe away and find another CM. She is being paid by you to look after her as you wish not as she thinks she should be raised.

I have no experience in it but from what i hear feeding a baby solids doesnt automatically make them sleep through, both chloe and sam slept thru before they were weaning. I would definitely be worried that she will feed her stuff against your wishes.

 I spoke too soon. Earl was up so much in the night to eat. He had 7oz at bedtime, 7oz at 11pm, 7oz at 4am, and then up for the day at 6.30 (just about to have another 7oz bottle) He was awake for a full hour from 3.30-4.30 so I've had about 5 hours sleep and feel quite knackered now.

Jo - you're right. Weaning does not mean sleep at all........see above lol

Kte ~ Your childminder needs to learn when to give advice and when to keep her mouth shut... LOL CC is weaning really well. But she doesn't sleep through all the time plus she has very little sleep during the day too... Some babe's are like that... If you don't think Chloe's ready don't start! She's your child not the child minders...

Morning ladies. Well we had a better nights sleep last night. Back to sleeping through with just 1 brief wake up for dummy at 5.30am. Slept from 8.45pm to 7.30am. Unfortunately I didn't get to sleep til gone 12 so I'm still tired lol. Ah well such is life. Got to go get a passport photo done today to send off to my new job. Hate hate hate having my photo taken lol.

Hmm think I better go give James his rice...he is currently eating the ear of his musical elephant lol.

Morning all,

Thanks again for the support and advice ladies :hugs: :flower: I'm not going to let her tell me what to do, I mean to start as I go on otherwise she will be trying it with everything . . and if she even dare feed her there will be hell to pay! The thought did cross my mind too what if she tried it but I am hoping the fact that I could somehow report her if she did anything would put her off actually doing anything iykwim!

Sad news on my Sis's front I'm afraid  She had her scan this morning and the sacs stopped growing a few weeks ago, it's just her hormones have only just changed. It's really quite sad, they nicknamed them 1,2 & 3; it was kind of a family joke she would have more than one and it actually turned out that there were 3, a bit of a shock. So that's 3 little angel babies    To make matters worse for her she has yet to misscarry them, so she has been warned she will end up with similar pains to labour pains in the next week or so. Talk about rubbing salt in a sore wound. Wish I could make it better for her.

Kte thats so sad. im so sorry xxxxx. Big Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the support for my Sister :hugs: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry to be all stress and doom and gloom everyone!

I am missing Chloe soooooooooooooooooooooooo much today. I really don't know how I am going to manage two more days like this. She was so cute last night, I picked her up and when we got home she had a mad hour or so in her bouncy car. At six Nij went to bed, Chloe ate and then had a nap. I thought I would get her ready for bed when she was due her next feed about 8.00pm but she woke up at 7.30 just before then, ate a little bit more and fell asleep on the bottle so I was kind of stuck! I put her in her moses basked and she slept all the way until about 1.30am, well she didn't even wake then as I gave her a dream feed; she didn't wake up until 5.30am! Good job I was up anyway as I needed to wash my hair!

I just want to give her a hug and see her smilie gums!
