Quickie update ladies -

Dr's have just called to tell me that my tests have shown up positive for a thyroid problem. Got an appointment tomorrow to go in and get medicated up lol.

Now I've got to get Earl to go back to sleep as the phone woke him up! :dohh:

Kte massive :hugs: for your sis and you xxxxx

On the CM front if she does give food I was wondering how you'd find out but then I thought she'll poo different.

Aimee glad the docs are sorting you put quickly.

Went for a meeting at work today and as i've got so much leave looks like i'll be tagging a months leave to the end of my mat leave so thats a return to work date of 6th September :happydance:

Kte - so sorry to hear about your sis, I hope the next week gets over quick for her :(

Im thinking about trying jack with some baby rice over the next couple of days, he will be 5 months on saturday so i think its time he got used to spoons etc :)

Ohh KTE the CM is bang out of order here!! Don't let her push u around :hugs:
:hugs: for your sis too,how sad.

Well...my Ethan is 4 months old today :happydance::cry:(mixture of happy and sad there!)

And...:witch: has arrived :growlmad: and don't I bloody know it..I'm bleeding as heavily as when I'd just given birth!!

Ethan tasted a tiny bit of bananna yesterday (just my curiosity really) and LOVED it but Ive not given him anything other than his usual milk today and he's just fine, so I'm holding off weaning him properly for now.

3rd injections are next week, getting him weighed too, check he's still putting on as he should,I;m sure he is though.

Hope we are all ok,will try read abit further back than the last 5 pages untill I ge too tired heehhe xx

Happy Wednesday :)

Geesh the week is flying by! Not much new here- my brother is home on his spring break so he came over this afternoon to come to the park with Emma and I. It's been pretty warm here which is a nice change :) My flowers are starting to come up in the front garden- I hope the end of winter is in sight and it doesn't get cold again and kill them.

Kte- massive :hugs: to you and your sister. So sad... I hope things improve with the CM too.

Flora- hope Harry is feeling better and the drops work quickly!

LK- way to go James for rolling over!

Aimee- Emma has really taken to the park- we've gone everyday this week and she also likes the slide now too :) She giggles everytime the swing comes towards me- so cute. I'm sure Earl would love it too- that's awesome that you have a park behind your house. Our closest park is about a 5 min walk. We are going to look into buying a baby swing to attach to our tree in the back garden though. That's great that the doc got back to you so soon with results. Hope Earl lets you sleep a bit more tonight :)

Sam76- hope George's leg is okay and you are able to get a placement for him at the "good" nursery. Do they have a waitlist? Happy belated 5 mths :)

Bonfloss- we try to get out once a day to pass the time too. Swimming is on Monday, we just finished doing yoga classes on Tuesdays and we go out for walks or browse the shops other days. Taking the baby swimming alone takes a bit of organization but it's fun :)

Chaos- cute pic of Autumn :) I love those bouncing Tiggers- we don't have one but my mum has an Easter bunny from Hallmark that bounces and claps its ears together to music. Emma is always fascinated by it. Way to go Autumn for being almost mobile!

Maffie- That's awesome that you get an extra month of leave! Sounds like the meeting went well :)

h702- I think our babies share a birthday :) Emma will be 5 mths on Saturday too. They are growing up way too fast!

helz- happy 4 mths to you and Ethan! :)

Well, I gotta go find something for dinner- I was going to make spaghetti but I'm feeling lazy so it might be a pizza night :)

Evening girls. Hope everyone is well. James is finally asleep. Took damned ages to get him to settle cos he was being so nosy. And now the cat is asleep on my bed grrr.

Morning all,

Chloe slept like a trooper again. Came home, played for a hour or so, ate at about 7.30, fell asleep and that was that until 2am for a feed, back to sleep, woke at 5.30am but settled with her dummy until it was time to haul ass out of bed at 6! She helped me get ready (her watching in a good mood is helping!) and then had her breakfast at 7.20. :D

Maffie ~ Ooo sounds good being off unil September, thats good news

Your right about detecting it in the poo, trouble is as she not been eating the same amount so her poo is different, poor madam had the runs yesterday rather than a proper dirty nappy but she only had 2 out of the usual 4 bottles so that may be why.

I put a paragraph in Chloe's book (we have a daily log book) about how I feel she isn't ready, the reasons I think she is acting like she is and that I would naturally monitor Chloe's bahavour and review it again in the near future! Think it made CM think as when I went to pick her up Chloe yesterday she said that she would never feed Chloe anything and not tell me incase, for eg, Chloe had to go to hospital and they needed to know what she had eaten. So that's reassuring. The note has stopped her being bossy . . . for now!

Aimee ~ Glad your getting sorted quickly :flower:

helz ~ Happy 4 months for Ethan :happydance:

h702 ~ Happy 5 months on Sat for Jack :happydance:

Kaites ~ Happy 5 months for Emma on Sat too :happydance: Sounds like she loves the park, we are lucky and have one 2 mins behind us but its not in the best condition but hopefully they will be refurbing it soon. There is another nice big park down the road, 15 min walk max too. Its cold here but sunny again today, I hope spring is on its way too!

LK ~ Hope the cat nudged over for you!

:flower: Thanks again everyone for your thoughts, :hugs: and support :flower:

Morning all, Kte sorry for tmi but Noah has poos with lumps in now (all foods give him lumps even though he's only having the smallest of amounts once a day). I'd make a good detective

I do hope HR agree in writing to my extra month off. Need to look at CM/nursery

Well Noah is all happy and giggly this morning, he's a much more pleasent baby in the morning, must be after all the good sleep. He gets so grumpy of an evening.

oooh I cant believe we are all hitting the 4/5 month mark its going so fast.

Morning ladies. James slept well again last night so obviously the baby rice is making him feel fuller. His poo has definitely changed Kte so you would definitely notice if she was being sneaky! Thankfully he is in a better mood today. Was a grumpy little sausage yesterday so ended up taking him over to my sisters for most of the day so he didn't keep my dad awake (he works nights). But this morning he has woken up ravenous, demolished his bottle and baby rice, taken a nap and is now playing in his bouncer lol.

Good afternoon ladies,

Hope we're ok.

Kaites- Happy 5 months to Emma too, andto everyone else at the beginning of October. It's funny as you don't think a lot can happen in amonth but you look at the earlier babies, then you look at us lot from the end of the month and the difference is amazing...I always watch for Emma posts to see how she's doing lol.

I'm back from the Dr's - and I feel very much vindicated in how bad I've been feeling recently. The Dr was happy that I managed to come in soon as my results were shocking lol. They measure 2 things - Thyroxine (T4) and TSH (the hormone that makes the thyroid gland produce Thyroxine) and in a normal person you'd be looking for a minimum of 10 T4 and a maximum of 5 TSH. My T4 was 7 and my TSH was 55!!!! Basically my thyroid gland has stalled and the chances of it coming back to life are minimal. I've been put on a small dose of Thyroxine and I have to go back in 1 month to get re-checked and get my dose adjusted - he reckons I'll need double what he's put me on but apparently the side effects are like that of a class A drug  so I have to weaned upwards lol. I'm on tablets now for the rest of my life :nope:

Earl is having a good day apart from my Mum calling and waking him up from his nap :growlmad: I really need to put the phone on silent but I don't want to miss any phone calls from job applications etc. Hopefully it wont be too long and I can turn it off lol.

Have a nice day ladies :hugs: I'm off to go cmfort eat lol.....and enjoy my hubby's day off. We're going to the park this afternoon....I'm sure the camera will be coming with us lol.

Kte ~ Glad your CM is taking the hint... Hope things improve...

Aimee ~ Glad your Dr's have found out what's wrong...

Maffie ~ Sounds great on the leave front...

Well, I've finally made another apointment to the Dr's; My moods haven't improved any even with the iron tablets. OH gave me a cuddle last night and I just cried and cried... I'm not sure what's up with me I feel as though I'm just finding everything really hard...

CC is really easy TBH, really happy go lucky, weaning's going well etc so don't think that's the problem...

I keep trying to figure out why I find so much so hard to deal with... Nothing really makes any sense...

Aimee ~ :hugs: Wow, hope things get settled with the tablets soon enough for you :flower: Does that mean you would be able to eat sweet things again or do you have to monitor what you eat? (Sorry I am clueless about this).

I hate it when the phone rings, it was guaranteed to call when Chloe had just gone for a nap and then wake her up; worst thing was it was usually a wrong number!

Enjoy the park :D

Eswift ~ I hope your doctor can sort something out for you. Must be hard to deal with when you don't know what it is thats making you feel that way. I really hope thigs pick up for you soon :flower:

Kte, so sorry to hear about your sister; it must be very hard for her (& your family) to deal with that. :hugs: Also, I think I would've punched the CM by now; it's things like that that make me feel terrified about going back to work & leaving Harry with 'strangers.'

Bonfloss; other than playing withy his toys & going in his door bouncer, I try to take Harry out for a walk everyday if the weather's nice and we going swimming every week too. I also go to a BFing group every weds morning too, but that's about it really. The only person who ever comes round is my sister & her 2 kids, as all my family lives far away & my friends are scattered about all over Eng & Wales, so i feel quite lonely somedays & worry about Harry not having enough other child interaction...

Chaos; yay at Autumn sitting up. :)

My mind has now gone completely blank as to what everyone else posted, dammit.
I feel like poo today & ache all over & Harry keeps whinging so I'm not the happiest of bunnies. got haary weighed yesterdayb & at 21+1wks he is 12lbs 15oz. he can sit up for about 8secs before falling forwards n bent double, lol.

Re weaning; I am totally undecided as to whether Harry is ready or not. We started giving him some baby porridge last week at 20+3wks (just a teaspoon of it) & it seemed to go down well, but he hasn't had any for 2 days now 7 isn't bothered at all, so I'm guessing he doesn't 'need' it yet... I'll start properly at 6mths. He'll be 5mths on saturday, so will review it on a weekly basis I think.

Morning ladies!

Emma is having a fussy morning- pretty sure it's teething. She's also decided that she's afraid of the cat and bursts out crying when Beasty comes in the room- nothing has happened with the cat so I don't know why  My laptop is acting up too- crazy slow and a lot of programs are not working right :( I am hoping to make this computer last as long as possible, but it's 5 years old now so I guess in the computer world it's old. ANyway, hopefully it'll let me attach a pic from the park yesterday, lol

Kte- that's great that the note in Chloe's book seems to have kept the CM at bay :)

Maffie- Emma is a grump in the evening too. We've taken to doing lunch instead of dinner with my parents on the weekends since she's in a better mood earlier in the day. Enjoy the giggles :) Emma has finally found her sense of humour this week and giggling a lot more.

Aimee- Thanks :) This month has been the most fun so far as it seems like she's hit lots of little milestones. Sounds like Earl is already changing lots too with the solids, sitting up, etc. My mum is terrible at the wake up phone calls! Hope the tablets make you feel better- crazy the things these babies have done to our bodies, lol. Have fun at the park- can't wait to see piccies :)

Eswift- :hugs: I hope the doc has some answers for you and you feel better soon.

Flora- happy 5mths to Harry on Saturday! He looks handsome in his highchair :) How's his ear doing? Hope you feel better too :hugs:

Time to finally get some breakfast. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Kte - No it's just tablets forever lol. Nothing i can do diet wise, or indeed anything at all they can do bar just basically give me HRT. My mum's been on it since I was 2 so I kind of know what the deal is, but I now know that she has been doing it wrong all these years lol.....she takes her thyroxine with her iron tablets which apparently is a no-no as they cancel each other out.....answers a lot of questions I can tell you.

Oh and, no guarantee that the sweet thing will go away as it's not a recognised symptom :dohh: I may be doomed never to eat cake again, although that's a good thing as thyroxne is the hormone that controls your metabolism. Not enough and you find it hard to lose weight...so no sweet things may be a good thing lol.

Flora - Hope Harry's ear is better. I have found that Earl cries for his solids now he's tried them, so if Harry is happy to go without, then I would go with what he wants....unfortunately Earl is a demanding sod! lol

Hi ladies,

Hope your all well, i've just read a million pages but can't remember what everyone has said...doh! Hugs to those that need them & KTE i'm so so sorry to hear about your sister :(

We're all good here, started Theo on little tasters of things...so far so good, but i've done it the wrong way round & I should know better! Started him off with banana sunshine cereal, he loved this...probably had 3-4 weaning spoons, next day I tried him with a little bit of DDs yoghurt, this was a hit too...today I cooked some carrot and pureedd it, his face was DISGUSTED lol :( he ate the teeniest bit then spat it out, then clamped his mouth shut...hes already got a sweet gum (no teeth yet hehe) eeeek!
Going to leave him a few days now I think then try him again with carrot as i've been told thats best to try first? What have others offered first?

DD has been going to the childminders this week, have started her with 2 days to get her used to it before I go back to work, think Theo should be fine and wil start taking him a week or so before I start work! DD loves it though, CM has only just started out so we are her first customers! She has a little girl who is 3, Grace loves playing with her already, really impressed with it :D So thats one thing less to worry about when I go back to work! My MAT leave runs out on 23rd May so I have a while yet, just need to find a job as I don't want to go back to my old job! :( Looks like I might have to for a while though...booh!

DD just eating her tea then going to bath her and sit down with soaps with my little man! Hope everyone has a nice evening

mellie, my hv said root veges are the best things to start them on, like potato, sweet potato, yams, parsnips, carrots, squash...

kaites & all; Harry's ear is gross tbh!!! :dohh: it's leaking all kinda stinky crap, but the drops seem to be doing their job as his ear isn't all red n swollen anymore, so externally, it's pretty normal looking... just need the drops to work inside now & do their magic. they are pretty hard to get in, lol, i have to get him latched on my boobie, otherwise he just moves too much to even attempt getting them in. he has certainly cheered up as today has gone on (noisy!) and i was able to get another coat painted on 2 of the walls in the spare room while he had a quick nap too... my body is still achng like crazy. i feel like an 82 yr old rather than a 28 yr old. :(

aimee; my mum's on thyroxin too. on a plus note, you'll get free prescriptions now for the rest of your life simply for being on thyroxin...

eswift, sorry to hear you're feeling so lousy; i hope you get to the bottom of it. :hugs:

Evening all,

I thought the note had worked, she mentioned she had talked to me about it ti Nij when he went to pick up Chloe and she put another note in the book saying Chloe was unsettled again for her lunch time nap and was again watching everyone eat . . . . strange how none of this happens at home. Its making me feel quite stressed and sick in my stomach, we have a few options, im going to investigate part time possibilities and Nij is going to have a word with her on Monday if she carries on again tomorrow.

Chloe is having a nice snuggle on me :cloud9:

Kaites ~ Lovely pic of Emma in the swing

Flora ~ Happy 5 months for Harry on Sat  IW with the ear goo but glad its on the mend and not upsetting Harry as much

Mellie ~ awww hope Theo decides to try a bit of none-sweet munch in a few days! Glad your DD likes her CM, sounds like Theo will be fine if big sis is about too. Its just hard for the Mums!

Aimee ~ don't want this to sound wrong but I suppose its a good thing your mum has the same thing so you know enough about it. Sounds like your body is on your side then in a way with the 'no sweet things' :flower:

KTE - your CM sounds like a nightmare :( is she gd other than the mentioning of weaning? If not I would find a different CM, if you can't do PT hours that is :(

Flora - hope your LOs ear is better soon, glad to hear he has perked a little!

Kaites - Awww, Emma looks cute on the swing...think Theo would just flop forward and eat the bar lol

Hi all,

Didn't manage to get to the park....it was school ending time and it was full so we decided to just go for a walk instead. Lovely in the sunshine. Going to try again at the weekend when there aren't as many kiddies. It's funny as the village I live in is tiny, and it has qute a few families, but outside of school times, you wouldn't know it. Younever see them out playing.....such a shame.

Earl very much enjoyed his tea tonight. He's getting much more accurate with feeding himself (he prefers it as I feed him the 1st half then let him go nuts with the rest lol) Here's some piccies from tonights tea - sweet potato.

Thanks for the support ladies. Yeah it is a bonus that I'll get free prescriptions forever, and hopefully the lack of sweet things will work in my favour, as will the fact that I kind of know what to do and what to expect. Apparently it will mean I will have to be much more closely monitored when we TTC next as well. I really do miss my puddings though....looks like it's cheeseboards all the way lol. Problem is I can't even eat fruit....the pureed apple I made for Earl was far far too sweet. :dohh: Hopefully now my hair will stop falling out and I can stop wearing 18 layers and turn the heating down a bit.
