Kaites we need to get a new cycle trailer to go on the tandem

Kte its still long but shorter iykwim.... feels really light (ive had it less than an inch before so its not scary short )

Flora gosh that sounds scary :hugs: for you both.

Chaos massive :hugs: knowing you are losing someone special is so hard.

Flora - :hugs: Earl's had a couple of gagging incidents but never anything as scary as that. I hope that you're both ok.

Well, I've finally got all the applications off. That's 5 I've sent off in the last week. If I can keep up this pace, I should be in work soon......bit of mixed emotion about that as I'm sure you girls can appreciate, but it's all good. One in particular, the one that I've spent ages on tonight, is the one I really want. It's a good wage and only 4 days a week  Would be pretty much perfect. Also good opportunities to work from home too....even better, oh and 5 weeks holiday a year. Really got my fingers crossed for that one. Interviews are in 2 weeks so if I don't hear next week I guess I'll just have to keep on looking. Also have another 3 day per week one to apply for which again is a very good wage for part time so hoping to get one of them really.

Hope we're ok. I made some peach puree for Earl's breakfasts (has fruit puree with either rice or, if he likes it, with his porridge too, oh and it's meant to be good on toast too). I gave him a taste when it was all pureed and he actually cried because he wanted more. I'm yet to find something he doesn't like (bit like his Mummy....I only dislike/despise about 6 food stuffs, Nuts, bacon, licourice, coffee, pears, any form of lettuce lol)

Anyway, I'm off up for a bath and then attempt to get some sleep. We're putting off the NRM so that hubby can get his studying done for his diving course.....pool session tomorrow then OW dives over the next two weekends. Earl and I are getting lots of days on our own by the looks. Instead we're off into town to do a trawl of the charity shops for clothes for him....always love shopping for bargains! :happydance:

Morning all, well OH came home with a lovely birthday pressie. So I dont have to lump my dslr everywhere he said he wants me to enjoy the next 6 months off with Noah and got me a new point and shoot camera, so now a proud owner of a Nikon coolpix s570 must say its strange holding a compact after using the dslr  he also bought us a share anniversary present a gorilla pod :happydance:

Right a pic of new hair (its messy as I have took it straight out of bed :haha:

Second jabs yesterday evening, and touch wood all is well.

Feeds were at 11pm and 3am, and then all the way through to 7am. But we had another nighttime poo! Which meant the 3am feed went feed one side, change nappy, feed on other side, bed, poo, change nappy, bed. Then Monty tossed and turned in his bed for about 20minutes, trying to get back to sleep. It was like watching a grown-up who couldn't sleep - first his head would be one side, then the other, then he'd fidget his body, then his legs would wriggle, then his head from side to side again ... Seems odd that a little (ha, not so little) baby doesn't just go straight to sleep and should struggle to get comfy, but what do I know eh? I was always of the belief that babies slept and ate and that was it, but then I had my own LOL. We're thinking his hammock may not be comfy for him any more so am currently researching cot beds ready for The Big Change. Until he stops night feeds, the cot bed will need to go in our room, as I don't want to be walking around the house in the middle of the night, so it looks like we'll need to do some furniture rearranging to get the bed to fit in.

Friends are stopping in the village this weekend so we'll catch up with them later. Then tomorrow it's swimming lessons - it's my turn to go in the water so am really looking forward to that. Fortunately my new swimming cossie arrived yesterday, otherwise I might have been a little revealing in my pre-pg bikini LOL.

Morning all,

I think I have seen the Duggers, do all the kinds names start with a 'J'? The one episode I saw they made the boys do girls chores and the girls do boy things!

Flora: OMG poor Harry! and you! :hugs: I don't think your being a wuss. I'm glad he is okay now though. :flower: p.s I used to watch Little Big People programme too!

Aimee: Hugs, I know what you mean with the mixed emotion. Do you find emotions hit you and go all over the place? E.g one min you are sat there okay and the next you figure out you will miss something then get all sad, then you think about other things and get all happy! Enjoy the bargain hunt!

Maffie: New hair suits you  (not that old hair didn't!)

Colsy
: Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned :D

Great to hear all your news girls.

Flora - that indeed sounds scary I remember a HV saying once if it is safe to do so then don't bother strapping them into the highchair so if they choke you can get them out easily.

Re weaning and sleeping, i've found it doesn't really affect sleep at night, but Isla is more content during the day.

xx

Yep! Can't remember whether you're BF, but certainly that's what I put all my hormonal surges down to.

Nah she is just a stress head lol.

To ne honest, I expected her to be a lot worse than she is. Most of the time she is happy, but the CM can really alter that :):haha:

Speaking of the CM you reminded me I forgot to tell everyone, I got a 'home made' mothers card from Chloe yesterday, made at the CM's, it had a photo of Chloe on it and some glitter - very cute!

Shame I got the card first then read a note from the CM in Chloe's book. CM had said to me on Monday she wouldn't mention it to me again which she hasn't and I was happy. Well, yesterday there was kind of an indirect comment in the book and I am worried the CM thinks she is right now!

Before I took Chloe to CM's her routine at home was that she ate 4 bottles in a certain time period so I packed 4 bottles but at the CM's (bearing in mind it was Chloe's first full week last week) she only ate 2 of the bottle in the same amount of time. I figured she is just getting used to a new place and routine and taking a bottle from someone new. Anyway, this week she has taken 3 bottles so now CM obviously thinks she is right as its because Chloe is getting hungry when in fact last week was wrong and Chloe is obviously returning to her normal ways. Looks like I am still going to have to fight the CM off of the idea of early weaning! BAH!

I don't BF anymore and I thought taking pill would help but no my hormones certainly can surge!

Good morning!

Flora- that must have been terrifying! I hope Harry is okay :hugs: 19 Kids and Counting is my guilty pleasure- something both creepy yet likeable about them. We used to watch Jon and Kate- even DH loved watching that train wreck near the end, lol. I'm a bit of a closet TLC/Discovery Health/Food Network junkie :haha:

Maffie- wow a bike trailer on a tandem- that's brave, lol :) Excellent way to get around as a family though. My parents had a tandem but didn't use it much since my mum had terrible balance when they were starting and stopping and it usually resulting in them face planting on the ground. Sounds like you got some nice birthday pressies :) Your hair looks nice too :)

Aimee- have fun shopping for Earl :) He sounds so cute trying your pureed concoctions!

Colsy- Sounds like a fun weekend planned! Enjoy the swimming :)

Kte- yep it's the one with all the kids with "J" names. I hope the CM doesn't pull anymore weaning BS with you just 'cause Chloe is getting back to her normal feedings. That sucks that she keeps trying to push her agenda, especially since it's just a case of Chloe starting to adapt to the change.

Not much going on around here today. I should get some laundry done- does anyone else find that the baby's laundry is always done but their own clothes just pile up for ages before they finally make it into the washer? Just have to share more pics too :) My mum and dad got back from a shopping trip down to the states and went a little crazy buying stuff for Emma. Here are a couple of the swimsuits they bought her- I love the tutu one :cloud9:

Afternoon girls and guy lol. Hope everyone is having a good afternoon. James is being a naughty boy today lol. He is getting up on his knees, faceplanting the floor cos hes not figured he needs his hands too lol, but getting up on his knees and trying to crawl all the same lol. Going to have to baby proof the house! He is also trying to say his first word...but can't decide what its going to be! Keeps going 'Mmmmm-duh!' and then 'Nnnnnnnn'.

LOL someone recognises I am here!

Chloe is having a bad day, she isnt happy and no matter what I try nothing seams to work!

We tried to go to baby and toddler group but she was so grizzly we came home, after getting some milk from the shops. But being a numpty I shut the pram with the milk in the base - luckily it didnt burst!

But were surviving ok really.

We have grizzle days like this. In fact, in a previous life most of our days felt like this :nope: What's nice though is when the next day you have a good'n and then you remember the good stuff all over again. Hope the rest of the day gets better for you

Noah having lunch (thought id share a video)

lol, I think it's more out of habit that we tend to say "hello ladies", etc. We need more daddies here- although if my DH were here then I couldn't bitch about him... not that I usually do, but it's nice having the option :haha:

LK- James crawling efforts sound cute. Emma was doing something similar the other day- looked like she was trying to do a downward dog from yoga class :) Yesterday when we were at my parents she started to fuss when my dad was holding her and she let out this "Mummmmmm Meeee" sound. I'm sure it was a fluke, but it definitely got my mum running into the room all excited so it wasn't just my imagination, lol.

eta- Maffie- Cute video of Noah :)

Cheers Colsy, unfortunately I know she will be a happy bunny tomorrow, but I am at work so will miss it.

Katies - I dont know what made me come back on B&B but I am glad I have.

Gosh, so many of your babies are rolling over, sitting up and even starting crawling now. I think it will be a while yet before Monty rolls over, although he is trying now and again. And also be a few weeks I think till he sits unaided. TBH, he's only quite recently found his feet. He loves to do left hand-left foot, and he can just about do left hand-right foot, but for some reason he can't quite find his right foot with his right hand! The prob I have with teaching him foot-holding and rolling over is that he really isn't a big fan of lying on his back, so he doesn't get much chance to practise. (He sleeps in a hammock, so that's not flat on his back, and we've recently moved from pram to pushchair, so again that's not flat on his back.) I'm always torn between trying to do stuff to encourage him more, and on the other hand letting him learn all by himself because eventually he will do it in his own sweet time.

Just been talking to my friend, who is trying to encourage her baby to develop affection for a special cuddly toy, Taggie or similar sort of thing, but to no avail. We also haven't found a really special toy that we can't leave the house without yet. Is this one of those things that babies do at a later stage do you think? Or is it more likely one of those things that some babies do and some babies don't?
