Afternoon girls. Hows everyone today? I've been doing housework all morning. Off to see OH later and mum is putting James to bed. Last weekend at work so no more commuting 100 miles each way to work after this weekend!

Afternoon all

Aimee: Link sent  Sounds like you had fun anniversary celebration. Nij and I still never did anything, maybe something even so late would be a good idea lol. Gorgeous Earl pictures as ever! Little cutie!

Colsy: Chloe loves little balls not sure I posted this here or not now lol . . . they fit in her hands nicely so not too little obviuosly. She also has a duck teddy that has wrattle beads in it and she just laughs at it and shakes this for ages. They are her two faves a the mo. Okay so hers are plastic / fabric etc but maybe there could be a natural alternative you could give to Monty? I wish I knew what was in the 'natural' basket at her nursery as they get that out for the babies to explore quite often.

LK: Hope i'ts a nice last weekend at your soon-to-be old work :flower:

Off to stay at a friends tonight, good food, giggles and wine :) Defo needed I say! Chloe coming with me too.

LK -Yay to no more commute!

Colsy - I try to go for quality over quantity with toys. We've said that we'll get about 2/3 every 3 months. For example yesterday we bought the bus, some stacking cups and a boat for in the bath. He has plenty of rattles etc so doesn't need any more. in the in-between months we have a budget for books so we're gadually building up a library  I like ELC and the more skill-based toys rather than just for the sake of it. I'm not adverse to anything as long as there is benefit.

Hi Ladies!

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Rainy here so I should probably be doing housework but somehow ended up on BnB again- funny how that always happens when I should be cleaning

Kte- That's rotten that people put Nij on the spot and ask when you are getting married! Some people seriously need to think before they ask personal questions like that. Have fun at your friend's tonight!

Aimee- Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday even if it was busy :) Your SIL's experience with Earl sounds exactly like what happened to my Mum when she watched Emma for Valentine's Day, lol :) She said she'd watch Emma again, but I haven't been brave enough to leave her :haha: Earl is looking so grown up in those photos! He's a cutie :)

Colsy- other than the plastic, battery filled toys that the grandparents have bought, Emma plays mostly with her stuffed animals and a Taggies-style blanket that I made her. I think we'll buy some wooden puzzles for when she's a little bit older and there are some cute wooden food sets for playing house too (magnets that hold the two halves of a piece of fruit together for pretending to cut up apples, etc.). My aunt knitted Emma some dolls and she seems to like them too. Emma prefers stuff that has some kind of "cause and effect" or different textures to explore- obviously too young for imaginary play but that'll be fun when she reaches that phase :)

LK- congrats on being almost finished with the commute to work! Hope your last weekend is a breeze :)

So any special plans for the weekend? We have the boring task of finishing our income tax returns  Fingers crossed we get nice fat cheques now that we've got a dependent, lol :) I think hubby wants to get another batch of home brew on the go too- pain in the butt, but our beer and wine stocks are dwindling :) Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hello all,

How is everyone's weekend going? I had a girlie night with my friend last night, chinese, gossip, wine, coffee and chocolates with Mamma Mia to boot. Never see the film on account of I seem to be the only woman to not be into Pierce Brosnan! (sp). I actually quite liked it :) It wasn't the wine either as I only had 1 glass on account of being such a lightweight now and having Chloe with me. She was such a good girl and seemed to enjoy herself too.

Well I am off to bed as it was a late one last night adn I am pooped!

Nite all x

Another quiet weekend in Bumpkinland!

We're having a very unproductive weekend here. Laundry is about the only thing that has been accomplished. I think grocery shopping and a coffee with hubby are on the agenda for this afternoon- pretty boring weekend, lol :) Emma decided to wake up at 2am, 5am, 6am, 6:45am and 7:30 so I'm wiped out today. I probably should have given in and just got up at 6am but was desperate for a little more sleep.

Kte- sounds like a nice girls night :) I'm a lightweight now too. That's sweet that Chloe is a part of girls night now :)

Here's a pic of Emma enjoying some rotini with bolongnese sauce. One minute she had a small smear on her cheek and the next, she was completely covered, giving herself a tomato facial- fun times cleaning up after that meal :dohh:

Afternoon all

Kaites great pic  love the fabric on your high chair too.

Kte sounds great your girls night. Miss having those with BF but we lost touch cos of an ex BF :grr:

Aimee Earl looks like he is enjoying the shape sorter.

LK will you just be working mon-fri now?

Not much happening here, mum popped over today so brother could rod the drains and fix a leaking bath (landlord is rubbish)

Trying to have a good tidy up as OH as a friend coming to stay at the end of the month.

Evening ladies,

I too have been a domestic goddess today, I have decided to call tidying up 'making the house more user friendly', its working for now lol! Did 3 loads of washing, well 4 as one the powder was still on the clothes, dunno why that happened?! Cleaned all the kitchen and moped floor so it was nice and clean to make purees for Chloe. Made her some carrot, butternut squash and Nij then helped with that and the pear as Chloe wanted a cuddle. She wasn't well last night, not sure if it was her gums or a funny tummy as she was sick but that was after mega screeming for ages so not sure if she just made herself sick being so worked up. She has been a super snoozer all day today now too and when she is awake has played a little and then wanted cuddles. Oh, she did try a spoonful of each puree and they seemed to go down well, she was even licking the carrot off her cardigan! :haha:

Kaites  @ Emma! Fun & messy!

It was nice been such a long time and I was impressed Chloe was so good, she can be a little nosey madam in new places and usually end up fighting sleep or something but she was as good as gold.

Your weekend sounds nice to me! :) Nij can no longer have weekends off which sucks beyond belief as we get hardly any time together as it is.

Maffie: Awh, sounds a shame about you and your BF.

Right, now it's ironing time . . . not done that for a while, kettle on first though me thinks!

Never let men get in way of friendships!!!!

Well noah normally feeds hourly from 5ish he's had a feed at 5.30 and is still fast asleep on the sofa next to me

Evening ladies. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Finished work woooo! Can't remember who asked and too tired to scroll back so will just answer anyway lol - yes will mostly be Monday to Friday with odd weekends.

Morning all

Morning!

Last night: bed at 7pm, woke at 9.15pm for feed, woke at midnight for feed, woke at 4.15am for feed. Woke at 6.10am bright and breezy ready to face the joys of the day ahead. Mummy v grotty and wondering what on earth those joys could possibly be ;-)

Morning girls. Well I have been good this morning. By 10am I was showered, dressed, had put on a load of washing and washed the car! James is in a right grump this morning with his teeth :(

Afternoon all now  LOL was a tad busy in the end at work! Just on my lunch break. Tuna pasta yum yum. Took me an 1hr 45m to get to work today what with traffic and roadworks, normally 30 mins with Chloe drop off included! She was so happy when we got to the nursery, like 'oh, yipee I am here again' on her face. Not that we didn't have a lovely weekend together.

Colsy: Isn't it weird how they do that, they wake up and so we feel like the living dead yet then they are suddently all sprightly! You think they would be worn out too! Found any joy's yet?

LK: Super productive! Go you! Poor James, would be nice if all these teeth came at once to save them multiple aggro - obviulsy just the pain of one tooth (or none at all :))

Maffie: Re Boys and Friends - 100% true. I missed out on seeing my BF for years due to my ex being a control freak. Luckily she understood and we have made up for lost time.

Afternoon all tried a baby group today, Noah loved meeting all the other babies. I acually felt slightly less zombie like this morning. Only 2 night feeds 3.30 and 5

Hey girls. Thought I would jump online for a few before I cook dinner to let you know how we got on at clinic this afternoon. James now weighs 16lb 3oz and is back on 25th centile :)

Did first solid food today ... not much happened ... Monty tried to eat the plate as per usual while the avocado slices got squashed into his babygrow LOL. Then he was hungry so we had a big long breastfeed. I am doing baby-led so I am in no rush at all. I'll just offer a bit of fruit or veg each day for a while until he starts to show a proper interest - at the mo, he is far more interested in the plate. The thing he is keen on is watching us drink, whether out of a cup, glass or bottle. Now that absolutely fascinates him, far more than watching us eat anything. I wonder what that's all about then?

Sounds like Monty had fun with his food! :)

Noah loves food, think his fave now are baked sweet potato. He shoves handfuls in his mouth :haha: and he adores bananas.

I'm doing a mix of TW and BL, Noah loves the food but gets frustrated sometimes when he's chasing food round his tray. If you pick a piece up he lunges mouth first towards it.

I'm attempting to clean up the kitchen so I can make dinner, but Noah wanted boob again

Free pictures arrived today, not bad at all for freebies :) Finally can add 4 & 5 months to the 'My First Year' photo frame we have!

oh no crying . . .
