oooh cornflake chicken sounds nice, ive been boring and had a kiev AGAIN.

Short message as im rough AGAIN

I thinkg again is my new fave word.

oooh, we had chicken kievs with baked potatoe & salad tonight :) Harry had the same but with half a turkey breast as I was too hungry to share my kiev with him, lol. OH got home tonight & Harry went mental-hyper to see him, launched himself at him on the floor for hugs & wrestling, then launched himself like a dolphin over OH's fat belly & landed face first on the floor on the other side before either of us could catch him... needless to say he was very upset & had a sore little nose & forehead for a while afterwards, little nutterbutter, hehe.

Megewansmum, sorry Megan isn't eating much at the moment... no advice other than to keep offering her little things throughout the day... even one mouthful is better than nothing I guess... I agree though, babies are certainly stressful sometimes!

One of my OH's old work collegues came round today & helped me dye my hair- same colour as it is naturally, but slightly richer, iykwim? I like it & you can't see my grays anymore! Harry likes her too. And she asked if she could come round more often, so it looks like maybe I have finally made a friend down here :happydance: That makes me sound like a loser, but it's been so hard making friends, and even though she's technically OH's friend, she seems to like hanging out with me & harry too, so, yay us!

Afternoon all,

Just popping in to say . Feeling a bit ug today, dunno why. :hugs:

ANyone any exciting weekend plans?

exciting?.... de-weeding the driveway & raking the gravel on it so it's flat again? yep, my like be like ooohhh, ahhhh :)

Maffie - Bless you...hope you're feeling better soon.:hugs:

Florabean - Hope Harry's recovered from his nose dive. :hugs: You don't sound sad. I feel the same about living over here. At least with a baby you seem to make friends at playgroup and stuff. Although I had to stop going after a few months as clashed with naptime. Hoping to start again in September but the nightmare thing is that Megan goes down for her first nap at 9am and it starts at 9am. Now she's a bit more used to napping I'm hoping that she will be ok. I guess she'll start to drop the morning nap in a few months anyway hopefully.
How do you get Harry to eat turkey breast and jacket potato. I'm in awe of you! Does he pick it up himself or do you spoon feed it to him?

She managed a bit of rice crispies and then some pear puree this morning for breakfast. Didn't really want to give her rice crispies as not sure you should but I had exhausted everything else and really never thought she'd eat it. She doesn't really do lumps or texture so I was surprised. She did try a bit of cornflake chicken last night but found it hard to mash as she only has 2 bottom teeth. Still at least she tried it. :happydance: She didn't want anything else though and then went to bed on 2oz.

I'm really hoping that she will start eating more of what we eat as she hates lumpy stuff so maybe more "adult" food is the way to go. Although she won't pick it up herself I have to pop it in her mouth. :dohh: What sort of stuff do the other bumpkins eat and love just to give me some ideas?

Harry's nose seem fine today, though he does have a little bump between his eyebrows; doesn't seem bothered by it. Had a crap night with him last night & he was awake from 2:40am until 5am... Me & OH took turns trying to settle him, but he was having none of it... I think it must've been teeth related, because he was really fussy feeding from me & kept biting his finger, then yelping like it was hurting him, so we put some bonjela on & that helped a bit, but he just kept crawling around the cot, crying, looking to be picked up. In the end, OH ended up holding his hand & sitting on the floor by the cot & eventually he fell asleep until 9am thismorning... I hope he's better tonight as I for one am knackered :dohh:

M: Well, Harry eats by himself (not on his own, I mean, with us, does does it by himself) & pretty much eats what we eat. the only stuff I spoon feed him is fromage frais, yogurts, jelly & occasionally his breakfast when he's having a can't be bothered fussy day, but everything else he does himself. He's just started mastering the 'art' of dipping so maybe he will start self-feeding with a spoon with these runnier foods soon?
I tried Harry with a couple of pre-made pouches in the beginning (Ella's Kitchen) which he liked, but then we focussed more on blw, but I did give him a jar once which was a 7+ mths one which had little lumps in it & he gagged with every spoonful, which was weird considering he will ram huge lumps of 'adult' food in his mouth just fine wihtout gagging or choking. He's never had any since though, so i dunno if it was just a 'thing' he did because he didn't like it or something?
Will Megan eat 'real' food if you hold it & feed it to her? A friend of mine's baby refused to eat purees off a spoon & refused point blank to eat any food picked up by herself (she was great at squishing it & throwing it though, lol), but would happily eat things if her mum held them & let her gnaw on them... weird
sorry, no real advice, lol.

Afternoon all, had an eventful day and a ride in an ambulance, I only managed to collapse in TK Maxx :dohh: Apparently a vasovagal (sp) attack as blood pressure plummeted and blood sugars also dropped. Had some disgusting gel stuff shoved in my mouth to bring sugars up.

So I think it's going to be a weekend of relaxing

:hugs: Maffie, I hope you're ok? Did Noah ride in the ambulance too? I have visions of a baby in a buggy being thrown about while the para's drive crazily to hospital :dohh: (good ole overactive imagination kicking in there)

Noah went in car with brother, I came round surrounded by police and paramedics, apparently my first words were 'where's Noah' and think I panicked the police lady she thought a 9 month had gone missing. Mum had him in the buggy :dohh:

I feel fine just worn out, they warned me it may happen again. Got to talk to consultant when I go back in a couple of weeks.

Im like a flipping pin cushion though my fingers are bruised from all the pricks to test sugars.

Maffie: Glad your okay now, get those feet up! :hugs: Do you think you will have to monitor your sugars as well now as having the blood thinners if they say it could happen again? :hugs:

Megenwansmum: Glad Megan had some rice crispies, I don't think a few would do her any harm and like you say, at least she has attempted to eat something then. Er.. food wise Chloe loves her breakfast, usually Hipp porridge mixed with warm water. Her puddings! Usually a fromage. She has been really good trying most food but I just can't get her to eat a banana  That's a thought, have you tried her with food at different temperatures to see if that entices her at all?

Flora: How does Harry react when he hurts himself? (Hope he is okay now :flower:) Just wondering really, Chloe wants Mum, no matter what Nij does, she wants a Mummy cuddle. Glad you made a friend :D Are you expecting some nice weather this weekend then with those plans?! :haha: You had me inspecting my greys the other day, in denial lol. I keep on meaning to cut a sample of my hair so when I am much greyer I can colour match my old look

Well this weekends installment for me is cleaning, listing on ebay and inlaws. Ah well the next two coming up should be better so something to look forward to.

Im not sure Kte they said I need to try keep eating but in regards the blood pressure im already well monitored on that because its normally high i've never had it drop so low below but they were happy they got my sugars up.

Feet are well and truely up (I only got home because im not here alone)

Megenwansmum have you tried cheerios they always go down well here either dry or with milk.

Maffie, that sounds positively scary; I was really hoping you'd have an easier time of it this time round... I hope it doesn't happen again, or that if it does, you'll have a couple mins warning so you can sit down & rest & eat/drink something. Guess you should start stocking up on Lucozade? hehe.

Kte, generally speaking, harry will want a m ummy cuddle & maybe some booby if he's realy upset, however, over the last 2 weeks he's become a total daddy's boy & wants daddy to do everything with him & i'm just the feeding machine. :dohh:

Evening all,

Maffie - I hope you're ok. Get your feet up and rest (easier said than done I know). :hugs:

Megansmum - Earl will eat pretty much any cereal. Cheerios, shreddies, rice Krispies, even coco pops given the chance!! He got so excited this morning as because he's been sleeping funny he was an hour late for brekkie this morning so I gave him Weetbix with hot milk, and he was wolfing it down. It's his favourite but while the weather has been hot he wont touch it hot. I don't think rice krispies will do any harm, and with the milk I'd say they're probably pretty good.

Earl seems to be dropping his morning bottle. He missed it completely today and didn't bat an eyelid. He wouldn't feed himself today though (strange for him) so I had to cut a banana into cubes and feed him the cubes - strange child! lol :haha: But, it means that we're down to 3 bottles a day in that case - total of 20oz still.....crazy!

Anyone else bringing inthe cows milk yet? Earl loves it so I give him a couple of oz with his afternoon snack. He'd happily drink it all day!

No plans for the weekend really. We're off to see Dad tomorrow - it was his 83rd birthday on Thursday and he's getting back to normal really. Off to go and sign on on Monday too.... :nope: Not happy about it but It would appear to be the only choice.

Best be off. Speak to you all later xx

Aimee Noah likes cows milk, he has had one treat of a babychinno (sp) from Starbucks it's basically a little cup of warm frothy milk (only an espresso cup) and they are free.

just a quickie while Emma's finishing up her nap :)

Maffie- hope you are okay now and your blood sugar behaves itself for the rest of the pregnancy :hugs:

kte- no big plans- might make it back to the beach again so Emma can play in the water if the weather cooperates. Enjoy your Chloe-time :flower:

Aimee- no cows milk yet- I'm really trying to hold off until the one year mark. Enjoy your dad's party- glad to hear he's getting better!

Flora- Happy 10 months to Harry :happydance:

Megawansmum- Glad to hear the Rice Krispies were a success! Hope you're turning a corner with her eating.

Sorry if I've missed anyone :hugs:

Spent the past couple days reorganizing the furniture in the house and doing some general tidying- the toys were taking over the house so it was time to change some things around. The cat is none too fond of my efforts though and has taken to peeing in our back hallway, just behind her litter box :grr: The cat better watch herself- she'll either be outta here or wearing a nappy if she doesn't stop!

Hey girls,

Well I'm slowly starting to feel a bit more human. Still getting tired really easy, but I'm sure that will pass. Had my post op check up yesterday and everything is healing as it should and have been given the go ahead to try again when ready. He said it might take a bit longer than it did before but not to get disheartened. He said most people think that we alternate ovary's when we ovulate but he said that's false, it's pretty much like flipping a coin.
Send me baby dust, girls! :)

Am up and down the stairs with missy tonight, I think she has a bit of a cold, coughs and snuffles, bless her. I just stank her room out with Karvol!

Kte ~ Hows your butt doing? Hoping it's giving you less hassle ..

Megewansmu ~ 18lbs aint a bad weight! That's what Autumn is. You say she won't eat lumps .. I wonder a sore throat? Could be painful for her. When missy from mush to the more lumpy mush, she'd be ever so dramatic and gag and spit it out if there was any sign of a lump in her food. So then I tried proper table food and it was a winner, she liked it so much better.
Hopefully she'll start to eat soon! Have you tried her with ice lollies? (for fluids and such)
Hmm, re your questions on what the Bumpkins love to eat. She REALLY loves Cheerios (just plain ones, no honey and stuff), loves steamed apples/carrots/peas/corn/broc/cauli. She REALLY loves pineapple (ick) Home made mac and cheese, she'd eat that daily if I let her. Scrambled eggs w/ cheese. Mash, pretzels, cat food, toast with cream cheese, my crocs, um ... ice lollys, she really loves them. I don't get your normal ice lollys, these are basically frozen purree fruit. They are in the section where the fruit cups are. She's just started liking fish and chicken too, have to cut them up small for her to. She pretty much eats what we have for dinner.

Helz ~ I LOVE the pictures!!

Re appetites .. I've lost 10lbs in a week cause of all the health stuff, but in fact I think it's because I get about 3 mouthfuls of my food before I have a little gremlin standing in front of me, open mouthed!!

Maffie ~ We had kievs last night! You really made me fancy one haha. Hope you're feeling better today!!

Flora ~ Yay for making friends! Hows things with your sister/family?

Happy 10 months to Emma and Harry! :) You know it's insane to me that NEXT month Autumn will be 1 years old. I just can't get my head around it!!!

Well I gotta hit the hay, I thought I'd leave you with a pic of Missys teeth! Its the first good pic I got of them all. She has 7 now, she just needs that bottom right (as you're looking at her) and she'll have all 8 front teeth (THANK GOD) Perhaps she'll go back to sleeping late!

Glad to hear you are feeling a lot better now :hugs: Cute piccie of Autumn! Love the teeth :) Emma's up to 5 now (2 top, 3 bottom)- I'm waiting on the bottom one too but can't see anything under the gums yet. I laughed at your list of foods she likes- cat foods and my crocs would have to be on Emma's list too  :haha: My kid must have a good immune system to not be sick from all the crap she puts in her mouth!

I can't sleep :( I'm having a bit of a freak out that mat leave ends in a month and a half and I am no where near done getting through the list of stuff I need to do for a licensed daycare and as a result haven't tried to get clients yet but I haven't lined up any care for Emma in the event that I do go back to work either. Not that going back to work is much of an option anyway- we'd probably need a second car and really with the cost of both daycare and another car, there would be no point in me working my current job, not to mention how hard it would be to juggle my crazy shifts and hubby's long hours atm. I thought about trying to drop down to part-time but I'd still have at least a month of full time at the start for retraining. One of my old co-workers finished mat leave back in May and I just saw on FB the other day that she's left the company now. Her son was sick alot after starting daycare and I have a feeling she was either fired or told "she might want to start looking for something new". Argh- and my parents made it sound like they would watch Emma when I got pregnant and we moved to the suburbs but now they have conveniently booked an Alaskan cruise for when my mat leave ends and all talk of minding Emma has ceased- not that I wanted to go down that route (they should enjoy their retirement) but it would have allowed me to do that one month of full time work for retraining without stressing about only needing a regular daycare placement for one month. To top it off, a couple months ago hubby made a comment that basically said that all this is my problem that I need to sort out- I know I have a lot of anger/resentment about that and it's probably contributed to me dragging my feet about the home daycare stuff. bleh. Anyway, sorry for the ramble- I know some of you are already back at work and I should just get stuff done and enjoy the time I have left of leave...

Morning all

Happy 10 Months Emma

Well im stuck on the sofa feeling not right, ive eaten plenty this morning and just dont feel right so may call midwife at hospital when im dressed. I think I preferred the high blood pressure

I couldn't write a list of what Noah eats as it would be way too long  he's a dustbin, only things i've found he wont he is 2 baby meals ive had to resort to when out one was a rice pudding and to be honest I wouldn't of eat it, then a basil and pesto meal thing he hated other than that all food is go go go.

He actually has bitten parts off the new tv remote too, you can see the teeth marks in it. Must make sure he cant get to it.

Chaos glad to hear you can get trying again, sending lot and lots of baby vibes your way. The pic of Autumn is so cute, loving the teeth.

Kaites hope you get to crack on with doing stuff for the daycare. If I was you i'd make a list of everything I had left to do and set a target of doing a little on the list daily. You'll soon fly through it all.

Hope you get to the beach, gosh it sounds lovely where you live, what age can kids marry there im sure Noah would like Emma :haha:

Flora glad to hear you are making friends  and happy 10 months Harry

Well my maternity leave has ended im technically back at work Monday  but on leave :happydance:

Morning all,

Just coming to calm it before I carry on with the house (Chloe time is on hold whist she has a nap bless :haha:) We have been up since seven, she has been great :cloud9: I had a go at the in-laws (well FIL as MIL was in bed) this morning  So be a while before I have in-law weekend duty again lol

Aimee: Hope that doesn't mean the Museum job hasn't happened? :hugs: Glad to hear your Dad is getting back to normal  Are you doing anything for his birthday to celebrate? I haven't tried Chloe with normal milk yet.

Kaites: Happy 10 Months to Emma! Hope you get some nice weather so Emma can play at the beach :flower: Im sure you will find clients no prob with what you have said before, like Maffie says, a few jobs here and there and you'll soon have it done! Not exactly nice of Hubby, I mean, he doesn't actually have to do anything just be positive and help encourage you, show an interested, 'like hows it going', sorry he was being man like about it. :hugs: Defo enjoy your last bit of leave but get the daycare going as then your at home with Emma kind of having the same fun yet having fun with other peoples kids as well. :flower:

Flora: Happy ten months for Harry too! Did I say that already? Eek, baby brain honest!!

Choas: :dust: Lots and lots and lots of babydust being sent your way :flower: My butt is prob going to give me some jip today as I haven't been in a few (sorry TMI!) It's never a good sign. I really need to go back to the GP. Lol Cat food and crocs . . yey on the teeth! Chloe has 4, two bottom middle and the top two fangs. I can't imagine your going to miss teething when the last one (for now) comes through!

Maffie: Hope you feel better soon :flower: We gave CHloe and old remote so she can destroy it as much as she likes and we can still turn on the TV, don't want her breaking that remote. What ever happened to good old fashioned back up buttons when a remote broke?!?

Best get on with the cleaning!!

. . . . . Oh and one last laugh for you all, you know last week I mentioned how I jinx watches? Yep you guessed it, this one has stopped working too
