burnt carpet help!!!!

Hi all i live in a rented property and i think i may have synged the carpet with my hair straightners you can see a long line and your socks stick to it. OH thinks somethings been spilt and if he knew i have burnt it he will not ne happy! The only solutions i can find on the internet are cutting it out and putting a new patch on which I cannot do! Does anyone have any solutions? Even if i cant fix it i want to make it less noticeable

There's not a huge amount you can do unfortunately - I burnt our rug with the iron (don't ask!) and I managed to get rid of the worst of it by using sandpaper on the patch. You can still see it if you look hard enough though. Good luck! Hope you find a solution.

I burnt my sons carpet with the iron and you can't do anything unfortunately.

My daughter burnt the carpet when she dropped the iron on it, I've covered it with a rug not much else you can do x
