Bv bacterial vaginosis

Please don't think I'm being selfish.

I was diagnosed with bv my doctor phoned me today after a swab last week and has prescribed anti bs I have no idea how long I've had it it was a routine swab after other symptoms anyway I've been organising an event for months and it's this sat Dr said no drinking alcohol as it has side affects. I've been so looking forward to letting my hair down I've not been out in months, I picked up some balance activ from boots so I'm wondering if I would get away with using this this week then start the anti bs Monday I would never of known I had it if it wasn't for the swab!

I had BV for months as well and not known- but kept getting UTI's and they treated me for that before finally diagnosing it properly and getting the right RX. However, I have read that it can become more serious untreated... but I doubt a week would make a huge difference? Maybe just ask the doc (to be on the safe side)? If a week isn't going to affect things- then start the meds the day after your event. I don't think it's selfish-- it's understandable it's not ideal timing. But you have to do what feels right hun Hope you get to have some fun!

This is a site I often use to get good info- being it's a medical site... seems it shouldn't be a big deal for another week (you aren't in a high risk category). - but again, can't hurt to check with your doc for that reassurance.

A week won't make a difference, I'd do the same! Hope you feel better soon, I had it a few years ago and remember it only too well xx
