The 'Summer Hat Buttflies' Cake went down a storm!
the lilac sponge wasnt dark enough though and looked weird. But tatsted nice as did the homemeade lemon buttercream.


Well I am bringing Mylo to NEC Cake Show.. and my friend will be brining along her 3 month old. My other mate coming is 7 months pregnant sporting a HUGE bump already!
You'll recognise me.. we'll be the ones pushing round the pimped up buggys and eating all the taster cakes! lol
think its the sunday defo for us.
£8 online ticket.. how much on the door? it doesnt say.. anyone paid on the door before?

lovely cupcakes Jo - what piping nozzle do you use?

Well yesterday I made a Swiss walnut and strawberry cake, basically a walnut sponge layered with fresh whipped cream and strawberries, covered in more fresh whipped cream and topped with more strawberries! It was for DH to take to work as it is his birthday tomorrow but he is off work.

Today I am making cupcakes for his birthday party tomorrow (he is 30!), so choc orange cupcakes and victoria sponge cupcakes (not sone these before, so normal sponge with alayer of strawberry jam on top and then vanilla butter cream, then i thought I'd warm up some jam and drizzle it artistically (?) over the top!

Also a quick question about how you upload photos - mine are all too big and teh upload fails. I can copy from facebook but then you can't click on them to make them bigger - any tips?

Thank you, It's not too bad thanks love, still aches now and again and can't alwys get a proper grip but.......

I think I used 3 different nozzles on them, The Wilton 1M for the big swirls and just some random flower hole ones for the others.

Jo your cupcakes are awesome! I see you been on a dr oetker shopping spree! i bought all them from sainsburys 2 weeks ago hehehe!!
And well im defo on for the NEC on sat - georgie and Cass cant wait to meet you both!!!! super excited!!! and i will prob be bringin K as since i told my mum n dad bout the baby they been a bit off with me, dont wana ask for favours if i can help it! xx
