Yeah.

Got my friends sisters 16th birthday tomorrow. I am giving the chocolate buttercream and liqourice a go to make black icing.. Hope it works lol

Good luck wit the 16th birthday cuppies x Cant wait to see pics x

Hiya guys x
wondered of you could help x As I said before someone has asked me to make them 50 cupcakes, just found out its for their daughters 21st birthday on the 23rd july x
I've priced things up, ingredients (of a basic cupcake as I dont know what she wants yet) and then I'll need to buy the boxes & cakecases too (from cupcakeboxesuk) and adding all that up along with my time I was thinking of telling her it will cost either £45 or £50 x What do you guys think?? is that too much??? should I say cheaper??

Thats cheap love depending what she wants, once you add decorations the time effort and cost adds up, I just did 24 for £40 as she was specific on colours/decs etc... and I had to buy a lot of it in.

I usually charge £15 for 12 plainish ones then add on if they want specific decs on it.

Although if it is a big batch of the same you can come down in price a bit as it is less messing about x

I think Jo has made black buttercream cupcakes before and they were fab.Maybe she could tell you. x
What a fab memory you have :)

I dont make cakes, just cupcakes.

Girls can you help me.. I need to make some cupcakes this weekend for my friends sisters 16th birthday her theme is black, silver and cerise pink. Silver and cerise pink great but black :nope: I never can get it black, my friend brought black extra and said it didnt do anything different to the normal black unless you used loads.. How can I get my buttercream black??
Sorry I haven't had time to look in here for ages, I did do some and you do have to use a lot of the extra black

Thanks Jo but my cupcakes are no way near as good as yours so don't want to charge too much as I'm Just starting out x I've priced everything up & for basic cakes it will cost me £25 but then if she wants anything adding on etc then That has to come into it aswell x will have to buy cases & 4 boxes which hold 12 each & then one that holds 2 x
Maybe I should stick with £45 for now until I get better??

Your cupcakes are amazing, that's the standard I want to get to x I especially love the mad hatter ones x

Thank you Jo, I did them using the chocolate buttercream idea from Gem. It came out ok! I didnt see this until I just now as I havent been on since yesterday morning.

Reedy, I charged £30 for the 24 I did for todays 16th birthday, she had black and pink with different toppers but I should sit down and work it out cos I think I am under charging.

Here are some of the ones from today

Oh thank you

I say go with what you feel happy charging then, but make it clear it is a bargain as you then get people wanting them cheap all the time

Good luck, can't wait to see them x

Laura they are fab, I really like the flower cutter, where is that from if you don't mind me asking.

I'm currently looking at Rose/flower moulds as I have said I will do a golden wedding anniversary cake, It will only be my 4th cake but the 1st one I am being paid for, I'm only doing it for cost as I need the practise.

What moulds do you guys have and are they easy to use?
Oh and I am am needing some more of the dreaded tapitts, script ones this time!!

The squires kitchen rose mould is my fave and i've tried a few.Must invest in one for myself.

Jo here are the cutters https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Blossom-5-Pe...Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item27bb20a533
I also got them from this lady. Speedy delivery too..

I have lots of moulds some are easier than others.. My bow mould is my favourite but have just ordered the football/rugby shirt mould, I also have baby feet, teddy bear, baby heads girl and boy, rose, gerbera, and some other bow ones... I got mine from Ebay, actually its where I get most of my stuff :haha: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300537254957 I use this bloke and I have never had a problem. Kittyventura gave me another person to use... I am waiting on some to come from him also.

I have the large number tappits and I have the small letter and number tappits but want large letter and the funky ones...

I ordered a couple of moulds from Ebay and they STINK.Have washed them and soaked them and they still smell all plasticy and synthetic :/

the recipes are really awesome! I ‘ll try to use them also for my cupcakes! I always use the basic recipe I found on https://www.cupcakerecipetips.com
A very good site with a lot of basic information and many decoration tips for Baby showers, tips for kids, cupcake baking tools, Bridal showers, ...
A few days ago I also found a Table: Marks gas oven – Conversion degrees Celsius / degrees Fahrenheit … it is very helpful for me. I hope that other persons will like it to! https://https://www.cupcakerecipetips.com/cupcake-baking-tools-baking-cups/

Hello Everyone  Hope you had a nice weekend.

Just a quick q. Been having a nosey as some 1M tips as mine seem to be blocking up with buttercream and the ones I am seeing seem like their tip is much wider open than mine. what does yours look like??
