I've been working out how much we can save each month for all the baby stuff and to cover the wages I won't be earning.

I've looked on the government website but I can't work it out. I know my employer pays 3 months at full pay and then it drops to SMP.

Can anyone enlighten me?!

Your company pays 6weeks at 90% of your regular wage after that it drops to £120p/w for 33weeks (unless it changed in april) I paid about £1.20 tax on the whole lot each month. Hope this helps

My company ofers whats called an "enhanced" maternity package but im not to sure what it is yet.

^^ sorry forgot about that, some companies do offer additional maternity pay through thier own scheme. Thanks Lozzy

I checked today (on the sly..) we get 3 months full pay, then SMP after that. They also expect you to take your annual leave too. That would work well for me! Especially as we won't be going on holiday next year - hopefully I won't be allowed to fly!

thats quite a good maternity scheme. Mine was the standard 6weeks then 33weeks
