I am 4 weeks 5 days and I have had 2 hcg test done this week. The first was 95 then the second was 88. I have been sick from a virus my son had, and I saw online somewhere it can cause a dip in your hcg. I dont know if it is true or not. I am seeing a doc for recurrent pregnancy loss. So if I do have another loss he is having me and DH use protection until we do testing and see what is causing this. They also tested my progest. level and it was 23. They said that was good cause it was over 10. Im really freaked out about this, we really want to have a baby. They are not doig another hcg until next friday. I guess they know it is about to be a loss. Has anyone evr heard of loosing a twin and not knowing it? I also read that can cause a dip in hcg. But with them not doing another hcg for another week I guess I have to wait this out.

Vanishing twins happen are a much higher frequency than many people realize. Many medical professionals believe that left-handed people were twins. The reason is complex, but I can find the National Geographic video and link it to you if you'd like.

I just did some quick research, and have found that no, dehydration alone won't cause a lower hCG level. Dehydration CAN cause mc though....

They say that dehydration doesnt but if you read real peoples experiences there does seem to be some proof/evidence pointing towards dehydration equalling lower expected hcg results or dips.
All the best, I've been through this hcg thing and its frustrating I know all the waiting you have to endure.
