can i start the pill mid-cycle?

Hi ladies, can i start the pill mid-cycle. Basically i stopped taking the pill a week and a half ago because ive decided to use condoms instead but ive just booked for me and my OH to go away for a romantic night away and im due to start my period a few days before this. Its booked for 26th January. Can i start taking the pill in a week or so so that im taking pills at this time and therefore hopefully no bleeding?

You really should start the Sunday after your period- if you start mid-cycle, it could mess it up and who knows what may happen? It might stop any bleeding- but, depending your your body- it could throw you all off and cause more bleeding. My friend cannot skip her periods- if she tries (with pills or she was even using the patch once)- she just bleed for weeks... her body NEEDED to have a period to stay more regular.

Sorry- prob not what you wanted to hear. For me, it's no biggie- I have a very light flow. But if it's heavier, your body might fight you on it. If that makese sense?

You can only start it on the Sunday after your period OR the first day of your period (CD1)
If you do a CD1 start then your period that month essentially stops (did for me anyways...thought I was pregnant actually!)

I started cd1 but sure the dr said I could start anytime aslong as you know 100% your not pregnant and it will take a week to start working x
