Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

we had to do that with Hannah a few times too, sometimes it's just easier to bathe them

I'm making a note to myself right here to catch up from like page 2121 when I get home and have time, I quickly peeked through but Andrew's nana is here talking to me lol.

:) You're so welcome Stiina!

LeeAnne had a up the back onto her hair poop tonight :growlmad: Pulled her out of the jumperoo and WAM it was everywhere! So gross!! Shes REALLY got the poops!

Here's a new video Rachel. Not giant kicks, more like rolling and shifting. There's a part where is looks like the camera is shaky - but it's him, not me I swear!

& Rae, if you got the same coat (grey w/ pink inside?)... you just missed a $20 off sale! Did you get their new stamp card at least while you were there?

I agree aside from basically Wal Mart and Joe Fresh (actually H&M is pretty reasonable too now that I think about it) baby clothes are soo expensive. Old Navy has good deals sometimes too, and if you're a Winners fan, you luck out there on their clearance rack. And it's a good place to find brand names, ie: Adidas, Baby Phat, Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, etc

I love the Winners clearance rack! They have such cheapo designer names!

Ok so...after all this talk of spending a lot of $$ on baby stuff........my sister went out and bought LeeAnne a juicy couture outfit..IT IS SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait for it to fit!! I almost puked tho when I saw that price...I guess that's what you get when you make 100K a year :hissy:

cute outfit, but I can't imaging spending THAT much no matter what I make.

hmmmm... making shake'n bake chicken tonight for supper. Been too long and it's so easy! Why don't I make it more often???

 Tiff I'll let her know!!

I'm the SAME way Sarah! It wouldn't matter HOW much I make I refuse to spend that kind of money on an outfit! But heck if someone else wants to buy it for her I'm not going to stop them

Sarah? O RLY?!

I love the outfit...but holy crap thats a lot! I once spent $50 on a very cute sleeper..but it was also half off.

And I never even got a pic of him in it! DOH!

I am such a cheapo:blush::blush:

The most expensive baby clothes I have bought so far was a little Roots jacket on sale for $25 and I thought that was pricey! I debated forever over getting this really cute sleeper at H&M for $15 - I guess because most of the others I own were all under $10:rofl: and he already has lots of hand-me downs too.

Im a cheapo too. I have bought soooo many brand new things second hand. I mean the babies don't care, I don't care. So who cares?! Cheapo or not, its the smart thing to do really. There is far more important things in a babies life than clothing. I always want to ask the mom's of super uber trendy dressed babies, in the perfectly high priced wear once outfit....if they have college savings yet...or even preschool. I know that's bitchy, but I always wonder.

Lakai always looks pretty darn trendy and cute IMO and I don't go overboard. And he has a college savings plan. hehe

Im a bargain shopper too, which is why I like the Joe Fresh stuff! I wont buy anything full price unless I desperately need it.

I came home from work ealy tonight because Jasmine has a fever and is sick :( IM not sure how bad it is because she is in bed, but hopefully she isnt getting H1N1

My sentiments exactly.
My baby is going to have a choice about education. With what they're predicting an undergrad degree will cost in 18 years, he won't have that if we don't take full advantage of the RESP program. In fact, I sometimes get the feeling that a lot of parents our age just assume that their kids will be able to get student loans, just like they did.
Well, depending on who you ask, an undergrad degree (just tuition and books) will be somewhere between $112k and $136k. That's assuming kid is living at home with parents and has no living expenses.
In the past 25 years, incomes rose by $20, cost of living, tuition, housing, etc went through the roof. It sucked for us to deal with student loans, but they were at least somewhat manageable at the national average of ~$25k/student. If incomes continue to stagnate (and all signs indicate that they will), our kids will have to deal with debtloads of well over $100k if they want a university education. It will be way more crippling than what we faced, and I know it has been a huge burden for most people.
But yeah, your kid looks great in that designer of the minute outfit. I'm sure they'll appreciate how well you dressed them when they are 18 and realizing that further schooling just isn't an option.
So there's my rant on the topic! :)

Hi everyone!
I have only read a few posts, but ...
Wendy! Noooooo! Um, I hope said dentist is now comping you the root canal and the crown or whatever the hell you will need?
Hope it doesn't hurt too much! :(
Stiina - Simon was the kickiest little thing in the womb. The doctor told me "active inside usually means active outside" Boy, was she right. I certainly did give birth to a little mover. He is chasing the cats around right now with one of their toys, trying to get them to play. And he loves fiddle music, although I am playing him more French Canadian stuff to honour his heritage. La Boutine Souriante is my favourite group for that.
Ha! The cats are hiding under my chair!

Oh no, I had a $900 bill. My next bill is gonna be over a grand.

Speaking of next appt, I can't make oreos next Thursday because thats my next appt Terri. :( Are you free the week after that?

I am all about the saving for education as well. I know my mom did not save a PENNY for me and my siblings :( My sister has had to get scholarships and funding for everything. She is know saving up for her adopted daughter, which is great and for the grandkids.

my parents didnt save for us either..... but only my brother has gone to college. she has paid of the remainder of his student loans however.... but i dont feel bad because she didnt have money to put into it. there have been a few times where phone or power has been cut off....and we just dealt with it....
