Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

:hi: Stiina!!! Don't be so long next time! :hugs: We missed you! I keep thinking about how great it'll be when you guys have your LOs but then you won't be as active for a bit. That sucks. :(

Great news, Rae!

You guys were out of control today!
Seriously, I think there are over 20 pages!!!!
I didn't even try to skim them.
I'm in a somewhat better mood today, but I feel like I'm getting sick and am walking around in a bit of a fog. Psychosomatic swine flu?:)

now that I'm not pumping I can write more about babywearing... I'm so sure that most of you are sick of my babywearing posts, sorry

I have three carriers, a ring sling, a Mai Tei and a woven wrap. The ring sling is used the most for day to day carries. Carrying Edward to and from the car, short shopping trips, I even use to use it to breastfeed. It's fast and efficiant BUT it can make your back sore after too long as it puts all the weight on one shoulder.

The Mai Tei is great for longer front and back carries. Easy to use and quite supportive.

The woven wrap is the most flexable of all my carriers. It's just one long piece of material so I can front or back carry, hip carry etc with it. The learning curve is a bit higher. If you go with a woven wrap, then you don't need a Mai Tei.

My DH is comfortable using all three but he's starting to prefer the wrap. I always buy in neutral or "husband approved" colors

As for inexpensive, I can't help you there. I spent WAY too much, but concidering how much I use them (specially the ring sling) the price was well worth it.

From the sounds of what you just said, I like the sounds of the woven wrap, although it sounds a lot like the Moby, where you wrap it around you how you want and it's a long sheet of fabric. Am I way off?

STIINA! First off, I absolutely love long posts, they totally make my day lol
Our nephew called Peter Gunkle, not Grunkle, but it was close!
As for fabric stores, I would suck. I've never felt nor been anywhere near a baby wrap, plus I don't think there's any near me and even if I have good intentions, for me it's easier to just buy. I suck I know.
I do appreciate the suggestions though!
:hugs:

Ok, so along the lines of the baby wearing.. I talked to Peter and he seems into it! And the $40 price tag isn't scaring him off lol.

And OT... I'm making chili, I've been craving spicy (and haven't been having an issue with heartburn thank God) so I made it extra hot. Peter said it tasted good when I gave him a sample but said that he might end up spending time with the toilet tomorrow lol
Sorry, just made me laugh :D
I also made a massive pot of it so he'll be visiting the toilet LOTS for the next few days :D

Rae that's great news!!!!

I was thinking about how it will slow down with the girls having their babies too :( Justine and I WILL be texting 24/7..or maybe it will be me texting her and bugging her

Terri - i actually had a girl at my house here today whos a wrapper!! shes got a woven and im looking at a wrap actually, then i can have a sling, carrier, and wrap.but i am not sure what to get, especially something warm, but breathable. id like to be able to wear it under a jacket or sweater so we can go outside for walks etc with out her being in a snowsuit while being warm kwim? but also a fabric i can wash and dry like normal. any advice?

Stiina - looooooooong post, but i read all of yours too!!! <3

Tiff - i mean stiff!!! hehehehe. no no, that what you make ME, baby :haha::haha::winkwink:

Nic - happy 9 months Lakai!!!!!!!!! i forgot last night!!! and booooo to the fridge!! i have 3oz that i pumped today in the freezer and i would cry if something happened to it. its like liquid gold for me. especially as it was hard to get the measly little bit out!

Rae - yaaaaaay for a Lawyer appointment!!! why would he want her birth certificate anyway!! im glad you told him to jam it!!

ok, last night was rough. pretty sure we are going through a growth spurt, as someone has been feeding often and sleeping like crap. she cried and cried and cried yesterday. finally i got so fed up, we got in the tub, and i was not as nice getting her undressed (popped her button snaps all at once instead of undoing them one by one) and she really started to cry. so i had her cuddled skin to skin and asked her if she was done and she just whimpered :dohh: we got in the tub and she calmed down thankfully!!!

my g/f called me this afternoon. im hoping shes not going to cancel on me.... we are supposed to go get our shots tomorrow at Northgate and i plan on getting there bright and early. and i really didnt want to go by myself. i have to call her back later on, she was going grocery shopping when she called at 4 ish.

ill be lurkinggggg.........nah nah nah nah!! i think i got everybody!!!

I think Ashlie takes the cake for longest post ever
Yes it is a Rebel! I looooooooooooooooooooooove it...I need to start using it more!
Sorry you had such a rough night! As LeeAnne is getting older I have such a hard time remembering those rough nights the first few months! It is amazing how in a few months time you won't even remember those nights!

sounds like good chili!

:hi: Sarah sorry to hear you aren't feeling well :hugs:

haha Ash, I'm not that bad! Besides, I made sure you guys were ok with it lol

Moby vs Woven - the idea is the same, large piece of fabric that you can wrap around yourself in different carries. Big difference is the amount of support. A woven can carry a larger baby than a moby. Your baby will grow out of a Moby before you are ready to give up wearing where a woven will hold your baby until you can not physicaly carry your baby anymore.

the woven I purchased is this one the LIGHT one. I chose it because it's lighter weight and cooler. I get very hot carrying Edward.

thanks Terri, the girl i was talking to today was chatting about Tadpoles and Butterflies, im taking a peek!

There is a babywearing group in Edmonton run by the owner of Tadepoles and Butterflys too if you need to see and touch some carriers before puchasing. I've gone a couple of times and always find it quite informative.

So this is lame..but here's our new fridge!!

Fridge!

Ive had a weird day...I got my period...first time since I was pregnant! I dont know what to make of it. I pump the same, I really didn't think I would see it again till after I stopped..but here she is.

That was my day. LOL

Wahoo for a new fridge!!

I hate getting my period...although since having LeeAnne I have 1 heavy day and then I'm done 2 days later :dohh: not sure if it's normal or not!

This is going to be a wonderful night..LeeAnne has been in bed for 25mins and up twice already! :growlmad:
