Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

:happydance: Summer has arrived early here. Was 24 C yesterday and will be hitting that today. Perfect temp in my eyes!

What's nice about this year? No maternity clothes! :happydance:

^ and we can have some nice summery drinks!! :D

Helena is 8 months today. Booo hooo. How come they grow up so fast?

Looks like it will be a warm one today, heading to my moms, hoping she will put out a kiddy pool for Helena to try out her new bathing suit in. :)

Happy 8 months to Helena!!! :happydance:

Enjoy your day hon!

In regards to Costco, we shop there all the time. Things on the 'regular buy' list are:

Chai Latte mix
Flour (we make bread every other day)
sugar
peanut butter
lemon juice
meats (I break the packages down into meal sizes and freeze for future)
cherry tomatoes
snap peas

and of course, baby clothes. I LOVE their baby clothes

We end up there about once a month so our membership pays for itself most of the time. I also find that we end up buying at least one or two christmas presents there each year.

Happy 8 months Helena!

It's cold here and been raining for days :hissy: And Stan's aunt and uncle who I really don't like are coming to visit tomorrow :hissy:

Happy 8 Months Helena!!! Grady is 2 months tomorrow.. it's crazy!

It's supposed to be a high of 24 here, even though it's really overcast out. Think I'm going to take the little monkey for a walk to the grocery store to buy myself more diet food! Oh how I love diet food. :hissy:

We were going to get a Costco membership, but someone told me that when it comes to diapers, just buy them on sale at places like Wal-Mart, Zellers, etc and you get a better deal. And there's something on sale nearly every week at one of the 2! But I have heard Kirkland diapers are really good! I love their giant muffins.. YUUUUM! We never bothered just because it's only 2 of us, it's not really worth it for us to buy huge amounts in bulk. And I'm like Tiff - I always ended up buying more because the sizes are huge and I get excited. Especially about the pickles..

Who shops at Costco? If so, what things do you buy there that you don't buy in a grocery store?

I specifically went there to get a iced coffee mix so that I wouldn't be going to a coffee shop every other day and save money. I looked at the cost of huggies, and for the cost, I almost get a free package of diapers. In other stores, $22 for 72 diapers (.30 per diaper). In Costco, 208 for $48 (.23 per diaper).

So I spent $50 on a membership but end up saving a bunch more with diapers and this iced coffee mix.

What other things are a deal to buy there? Unfortunately, they don't sell baby formula.

I just got a pack of like 704 wipes for $11 something there on sale :happydance:

They sell formula here in Ontario. Selective brands though I believe. They have the Similac with Omega 3 and 6... but they don't have the Sensitive like we use! Cause my SIL has a membership and usually gets us stuff from there.
Especially baby clothes!

And... since I live at home.. we do go to Costco sometimes... there's 5 "adults" (aged 15-47) and one baby living at my house lol so it's worth it for us, and I pick up baby stuff if I want while I'm there... I rarely buy big bulk items there of anything but I like buying books/DVDs there, they're usually quite cheap :) :)

Stan's the same about buying in bulk if it's a good price! :dohh: I've had to explain to him over and over it's not always necessarily a good thing

I'm so sure that Elyse slept 6:30-10:30 then midnight to 7am last night while her nana had her... there's no way she's coming back home anytime soon today now if she slept through her nana-visit.. and I miss her :(

I know the feeling Tasha! When my inlaws take LeeAnne for the night when we visit they think because she sleeps through the night it means they get to spend ALL morning alone with her! Like they actually ask us to not come downstairs until at least 11am so they can have some alone time with her! Ummmm IDIOTS you guys KNOW she sleeps through the night therefor dont act like its a surprise and be all sad you didnt get to spend the night with her!
If it was up to them she would sleep in their bed right in the middle-and I of course do NOT want that so when I told them that they said "dont worry we wouldnt do that!" I went in to look at 2am and low and behold she was asleep in the middle of them in their bed! I WAS FURIOUS!!

K I totally went off topic but I just needed to get that off my chest LOL

I'm watching one of my favourite movies! To Kill a Mockingbird (the 1962one). It's on SilverScreen right now-LeeAnne's swinging away in her swing watching it too

LeeAnne LOOOOOVES her swing AND her links! I must get more links this weekend-who knew they could entertain a baby for hours! Yes bad mommy doesn't have her strapped into the swing because there is a blanket under her  If she wasn't sitting beside me I would strap her in!
Excuse her outfit! Her dad picked it out today (Metallica onesie) it collects lint like NO tomorrow!

Aww so cute!! I'm hoping to set up Elyse's swing today or tomorrow while she's at her nana's. She's getting dropped off sometime after my nurse comes (I'm under instructions to phone her when my nurse leaves and she'll bring her back when she feels like it after!!)

ahaha you can see the tag on her moose-Smitty's! Yup one of her favourite stuffed animals came from smitty's :dohh:

It's so cute that she actually holds her toys.. Elyse would much rather hold her own hands :dohh: :dohh: :dohh:
