Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

Same, Vicki! Tweezing is almost depressing because you just think, "Man, for the same amount of pain I could have been done and over with this 10 minutes ago!!"

Tasha! I Just saw a video of a girls nursery and she had HELLO KITTY CRIB BEDDING!! It made me think of you!

I wanted to go down to the States to buy Hello Kitty stuff for Elyse's crib.

When she has a "big girl room" maybe I'll do it up with Hello Kitty stuff. There's nightlights and wall decals and pillows and stuff..

:( I want a Hello Kitty room, but I don't think OH will let me have it.

yep  I don't like getting my eyebrows waxed but much much much prefer it to tweezing so I'll put up with the pain

I hate tweezing too...thats why I had a years worth of eyebrow to wax off and was too embarrassed to go to the salon.

I want a Hello Kitty room too! All I have for Helena's room is the teacup alarm clock. Everything in her room is green though, so I better not switch to Hello Kitty too soon or B will be pissed lol.

Em - we bought the bright starts bouncer to leave at andrew's parents place so that we didn't have to keep carting our other one back and forth all the time! And it is weird, he's on a big incline, that i HAVE to strap him in, otherwise if he has a kicking fit, he's gonna slide right out!
there's no way to adjust it that i've found... cause andrew looked!

I get my shot today... Depo.. i don't care if it takes longer for me to have another baby, especially considering I don't think i want another! LOL... plus, that's something I'll plan into my TTC'ing if we do decide... I'll stop taking it long enough ahead of time.... speaking of my shot.. since i'm on day 3 of my first period, do you think she'll still give it to me?? please say yes.. lol.

Oh ok glad to know its not just ours!! I do however like the toy bar because I was able to take all the toys off and hang her links on there (she goes apeshit over links!) But yah she definiatly HAS to be strapped into that one at all times! She keeps doing crunches so im afraid that shes going to fall right out if I dont strap her in :dohh:

Does anyone else feel like their LO's arent reaching milestones when they should be? I sat up all night last night sooo worried! The only thing LeeAnne can do is smile, laugh, hold her head up when on our laps, hold her toys when given to her, poop and eat (she will roll over once in awhile!) she HATES being on her tummy, like tummy time is a nightmare and I read at her age she should be able to push up on her arms during tummy time she just sits there and screams and rests her head on her arms! She also doesnt put any weight on her legs when standing her up and I read they should be able to do that too-when we try she just flops over! When I put her on the floor she just sits there and does nothing......I talked to my doctor and he said its nothing to be worried about and that shes going to reach milestones a bit slower then others because she was born at not even 37 weeks, apparantly that makes a difference?? Im just all worried today :( I shuld stop googling things!!

Just thought I'd post some new pics of LeeAnne! Check out the drool, you can see it glistening off her chin lol (gross!)

Hi everybody!

I am new here, but thought I'd join you ladies right away (if you want me... ;)).
I live in the west end of Toronto, Ontario and I am waiting for my first one to finally make his arrival.

He was due on May 31st...

Welcome, Serenity! Yikes, I hope your little one makes an appearance!!

Emily - STOP LOOKING ON GOOGLE!!! Your baby is your baby and she is perfect! Lookit that beautiful smile! And she has the cutest dress too :)
You'll always find things to worry over...I know I'll probably be just as bad! But I just wanted to send some positive vibes your way. :hugs:

Tasha - ooo, jealousy is my worst trait! I'm kinda glad we don't have a tv because I know I would just sit and watch and become greener and greener...isn't it hard to stop wanting?

hey ladies! wow a day away and I feel like I missed a lot!

Welcome Serenity!!

Em---> All babies are different. I know it's easy to say "relax" and not so easy to actually stop worrying :) Elyse is 2 weeks behind LeeAnne, and she is not the most exciting baby ever TBH lol she mostly eats, sleeps, poops (like clockwork between 4pm & 5pm daily)..

She doesn't mind tummy time but I put her down on her tummy to sleep for naps & at night (tsk tsk to me!!)

She does put weight on her legs like to stand up when I hold her like that, she does smile and hold her head up well (but she needs to get better at it still, I can only put her in the Bumbo for a few mins at a time and if she's tired there's no way, she sits like a drunk in it, LOL)

But... she doesn't laugh, hold toys really (I actually worry that she's only interested in her mobile and her aquarium most days!), and she doesn't really push up on her arms during tummy time. And, sometimes when I put hold her so she can put some weight on her legs, she just flops over. TBH she really only does it for a few seconds at the most. I give her LOTS of opportunities to do this though, so maybe just try doing that with her more often? I bet LeeAnne CAN do it just doesn't know she can yet/doesn't feel like it, bc Elyse certainly has lazy moments where she won't do it!!

And LeeAnne is growing beautifully. Elyse is a dinky baby still, I don't think she'll be in her 3 month clothes until July. The bigger 3 month clothes probably not til August (she'll be 5 months in August actually)...

LeeAnne is perfect. She's happy, healthy, and remember with babies there's such a vast range for reaching most milestones! She's also teething early- I don't know about you but if I had teeth coming in I wouldn't want to be doing all that stuff either!!

If you want to look at stuff like that I recommend what to expect the first year (book), it tells you what babies should be able to do, will probably be able to do, and might be able to do month by month :)

PS I better add Elyse hates being on her stomach not going everywhere. She's an efficient squirmer but gets EXTREMELY frustrated if she's too tired and I try to give her tummy time!! :)

Hi!

I just got that book as well and so far it looks useful. If it actually is I guess I will find out soon though.. :p

We have the what to expect the 1st years and shes doing well by what they say in there but of course I start to google and youtube crap! Im worse with googling now then I was in my pregnancy

Im in such a bad mood today and for no reason! You'd think I was PMSing, if I get my period again already I'm going to kill BJ (even tho its not his fault )

Elyse is teething and she's putting me in a bad mood. I know that sounds awful , lol.

I could throw myself out a window right now.. I need her dad to fucking do something!! Whenever he comes over my dad pulls him away to shoot the shit and I don't end up having a visit with him OR getting a break from my parental duties at all. AND Elyse doesn't get much daddy time. Of course my dad's out for the evening and he's stuck at work because only 3 out of the 7 guys that work at the small company he works for are in today, they all needed today off for whatever reason.

FML. My mum is out at dinner too.. argh.

How do you do it Tasha!! Does Elyse's dad ever see her?! I feel like a single parent with BJ working 8-4:30 everyday and he then takes care of her in the evenings so I can only imagine how you feel!!!!!!! You deserve a break! Tell your BF to get his ass in gear!!

On a happier note-I GOT LEEANNE LAUGHING ON VIDEO!!!!! I was doing peekaboo with her in the swing and she started laughing again so I ran to get the video camera in hopes she would do it again and YUPP SHE DID!!!! Im just uploading it to youtube and then Ill post it! :D

Tasha, I'm lurking around on the older posts in "Pregnancy Club" - just going back through all the pages and clicking on thread titles that interest me. The past three or four, when they pop up, I realize you posted them! We must be having a lot of the same questions. :)
So did you end up getting a Bumbo? ;P
