Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

And one more before I go to bed (I promise I'm going for real this time):
Wendy, you fed Helena bison and seaweed for dinner? Well, I guess that could be considered a version of surf and turf....
Who am I to talk? We renamed the ravioli that I scraped off the floor the other night, "floorvioli". Simon also enjoys "floorios" (cheerios off the floor) and many other floor-related delicacies.
Like I've said before, even ebola can't touch this boy! His immune system is AWESOME! I'm going to write a parenting book! I'm AWESOME!

Okay, goodnight.

Its 12:39am and they're finally DONE!!

They look great! I bet they're delicious!

Ok, sorry if I missed anything, I peaked earlier and then I just jumped back in now.

Amira has been more active in the last few hours than she has been the last few days, she was actually making my tummy move again and kicking a heck of a lot more! I'm so happy and I feel so much better!
She's been pushing out a lot more too, it's such a neat feeling :cloud9:

Hope everyone is having a great night and your kids let you sleep!

*edit* Second to last box on the ticker! :happydance::happydance:

Happy 31 Weeks Stiina!!!!!!

For once... I don't want a cupcake. I think I ate way too many shortbread cookies today.

Does anyone know if cooked sushi is fine for a baby? Like is seaweed fine?

I asked this question in baby and toddler a few weeks ago and the general consensus was that the cooked stuff is fine. Hannah has had cooked sushi and miso soup and she loved the soup. I don't worry to much about salt levels now that she's one  though we do try to limit how much salt we use in our own cooking now.

Hope you have a great day Rae and that Renah has a wonderful party! :wohoo:

we had friends over last night and one of the guys, who I'm sure I have told you about is soooooooooooooo irritating. He pets Hannah's head like she's a dog :saywhat: Anyways he came later than the others and Hannah had been playing and talking and screaming and he came in and petted her which caused her to freeze up the rest of the night :dohh:  Than we put her in her high chair for dinner and he came over and did it again. I gave Stan the look and he told the guy to back off until she's eaten because it upsets her! The guy also has issues with our cats. He tries to pick them up and carry them around. Which our cats hate, especially from people they don't know. One went so far as to hiss at him several times but he didn't back off until I told him she's scared there's a reason she's hissing :dohh: the other he kept trying to make sit in his lap. Jinx is not a lap cat unless he chooses to sit on your lap and he really only sits on my lap, same with Gypsy really they are both my cats in most ways and only tolerate others.

other than that though it was a good night

 No, she just had a bite of my bison burger I ate when we were out at the Edmonton Christmas tree lightup.

Have fun Rae!!! Hope its not too stressful and you get to have fun! I wanna see that cake!

I'll never understand people who think babies = animals. So if a dog likes having its head patted, maybe she will too!!!

I chose not to comment on that because I couldn't think of anything that wasn't filled with swear words.

I think in those cases it is a good thing they haven't reproduced yet. I figure people who HAVE kids know better. ;)

Have fun at Renah's party today Rae! Make sure everyone takes tons of pictures then post them for us!!!

Re: seaweed and babies - my Japanese sister in law feeds her kids seaweed all the time! Her youngest has been snacking on plain sheets of seaweed since he was around 8 months old, I believe. He loves it! I've seen him choose plain seaweed over a cookie before!

I'm gonna buy some for H!:happydance:

I think it's a pretty healthy snack... I'm def going to try it as a snack for my kids. Apparently it's got some good vitamin and trace minerals in it too, but I've never actually looked it up.

Nori is super nutritious and tasty.
Some people also eat dulse, the red seaweed, crumbled over food as a seasoning or as a dried snack. When I was a vegetarian, I used it to make a fake clam chowder - it was delish!
All the sea veggies are very very high in nutrients.
I am a fan.
I never thought about offering them as a baby snack - I may try that today! We're going shopping.

Morning!

How's it going? How are all the Momma's to be feeling? <3

I'm boooooooooored. Claire decided she didn't want to nap this morning but is now. I can't do most of the stuff I wanted to because it is too loud and would wake her up. I did some scrapbooking, cleaned up the dog crap on our patio (yum!) and had some left over stir fry for breakfast.

P just informed me that the new hutch thing that goes over our toilet downstairs is NOT for any of my stuff. Its for his! And toilet paper! :dohh: I find it funny because I had a really nice brushed nickle one and when I moved in he told me to throw it out because he hates them. So I did, and now we have a new one that I am not allowed to use. Meh!

Although it is mainly to be used as a medicine cabinet. All of our med stuff is in one of the cupboards and it is starting to overflow with supplies.

Still though. It irritated me. I've been super grouchy this weekend, perhaps AF is on her way?

Me too, Tyff.
I should be starting any day now. And yes, I have been riding the moodwagon all weekend.

Hey :) I'm great! Amira gave me a few boots while I was making breakfast, made my morning :)

It's starting to snow more now, I haven't checked the weather cam on the pass, not sure I want to.

Tiff, you need to kick his butt!

Morning everyone! This momma-to-be is feeling pretty good. Just finished painting my floor (Rachel - it's a grey colour. It looks pretty industrial right now...I'm hoping it will dry to more of a 'slate' colour. Whatever! :shrugg:) and now I'm off to my mom's to help her make Christmas Pudding.

And wash laundry. I did all my baby laundry last night and it STILL stinks like my cousin's fabric softener!!! So I'm bringing it over to mom's, and we're going to put vinegar in the rinse water, and hang them on a clotheshorse outside. I still don't have my clothesline or else I'd do it here. If I put them on a clotheshorse, Teddy would have them devoured in a couple minutes :D

But I'm pleased because my diapers didn't fall apart!!! :happydance:

Tiff and Rae, your cupcakes look FANTASTIC! Rae I love the little stand you have them on! Very cool  And Tiff...PLEASE tell me you've eaten one by now! I would have chowed on it as soon as the icing was on top...!!

Sorry. This was a very self-involved post. I ran out of paper to write down what I wanted to reply about.

Rach - step AWAY FROM THE HIGHWAY CAMERA! Just wake up tomorrow and go to your appointment. No checking!!!

(And thanks for the 31 week wish! <3)
