You can buy it online and have it sent to you. Might give you some time to see if baby arrives in the meantime too?

I googled it and it gave me some places that sell it from about £6 onwards? :flower:

aww i no how u feel hun lucky i hav a nice midwife at my 38+1 appointment she did an internal cos i asked and stretchd a tiny bit not enough to be called a sweep but enough and then i dont have another appointment til im 40+1  there isnt enough appointments for me to be seen weekly :(

Ok ive never tried castor oil myself but my friends mother took it with all 3 of her children and it made her go into labor within 24 hrs. that being said my friend decided to try it as well and it did nothing for her so i dont really know if it works or not...

Hun, I had the poos during my 1st labour! I don't know why but I do have IBS and stress brings it on so I'm thinking it was that. But anyway it wasn't pretty and it was really embarressing, And labour pains coupled with shit pains really really isn't nice :( I hope if u get hold of some u don't have a dodgy tummy in labour because its really not worth it :) good luckxx

i heard it helps to but i dont think i would have the guts to try it lol..i was told to just have lots of sex and that usually helps!

Alot of people poo during labour anyway, think about it ur pushing in the same area!

Haha yeh doing a poo as babys head coming out is normal but having diahrea (sp) the whole labour is not nice :( my labour was quite quick though, so hopefully if its abit longer it would of gone and 'cleared me out' before pushing stage! Here's hoping haha!

Its not something you would choose to do though is it
you would normally do anything to avoid pooing in labour lol

This made me laugh :haha: I'm the same, I've got IBS too and oh god the shit pains!

I had stomach flu last night too - definitely worse than labour in my eyes! BUT I'm hoping that'll do me a nice clear out and I'll go into labour soon...Due date tomorrow!!

Sorry for the hijack! :hugs:

I took about 2 oz. of it in a milk shake the time it worked....

My doctor told me to try it because I was nervous about how an induction would go... I tried it four times. The first two times, it just made me really crampy. The second time, I was vomiting and "going" but having lots of contractions... I went to the hospital and was only 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, and baby was still up pretty high. They sent me home. I tried it again a couple of days after that... I never felt contractions, but my water broke! I hadn't progressed AT ALL, though. I was still only 2 cms dilated and 50% effaced. I needed Pitocin to get my contractions to regulate because they were very irregular and like 6 minutes apart. My baby had a bad reaction to the Pitocin, and I ended up pushing him out without contractions after an hour and a half of trying with the contractions (he was tangled up in the cord, so it kept pulling him back in). It wasn't bad... except I was pooping since the moment I got my epidural. I just had no control after that point. After my epidural wore off and I was able to go to the bathroom, the first thing I did was go poop more. lol... It was awful... But I have my baby, and he's perfectly safe and healthy, and I didn't need a c-section!!! :)

totally agree with this!
I had never had any pooing issues during my first three labours then for some reason with the fourth i decided to eat pasta with cheese sauce for tea one night, cheese sauve ALWAYS upsets my tummy but its the best sort of sauce in my opinon. I had tummy pains in the night which results in me sitting on the toilet and finally my waters breaking. The whole labour i spent running back and forth to the toilet and APOLOGIZING FOR THE SMELL - i cant stress how awful it was. Oh and the less said about pushing the better seriously safety and getting it aside avoid anything that upsets your tummy like the plague!

When did the EU ban it?! I took it with my ds but that was a few years ago.
If you get it then mix with orange juice and bicarbonate of soda as it makes it more palatable - if thats poss! kinda like an oily champagne!

Good luck in all your efforts.xxx
