Cd2, first round of clomid, anyone with me?

Thanks Fairyy. I was pretty upset Saturday and Sunday, I seem to be doing better today. Plan now is to NTNP, this last 14 months have been an emotional hell through TTC and it is time for a break from the obsessiveness. I am going to focus on losing weight, DH and I have decided we won't seek any more fertility treatments until I lose approx. 60 pounds as I am convinced the weight has something to do with it since I was so much healthier when I had DS and only tried for 3 months with him.

Piper I have wondered about my thyroid. My doctor checked but only checked one level and from what I have seen there are many different thyroid levels that can be checked. but either way the one she checked was in a normal range.

If you recall, my IUI was cancelled due to high TSH. It needs to be 2.5 or lower to sustain pregnancy. I truly believe that taking a higher dose of synthroid this cycle was a factor. Have you ladies gotten your thyroid levels checked?

When I got pregnant with my DD, it was only a cycle after taking my 1st dose of synthroid so my levels are quite important for me. (Before that I was TTC for approx 2 years!)

Yes, I remember that you told about your levels. Glad that higher dose of synthroid worked for you! Are you having any pregnancy symptoms yet or symptoms starts little later in pregnancy ?

My thyroid levels have been checked twice since NTNP/TTC. It was normal then. I will go for routine check up and blood testing to my primary physician in a month or two. I believe if there is any issue in my thyroid level then it will show up in that test.

Good luck losing weight todmommy. It is always good to stay active and follow a healthy life style. I hope the relaxed NTNP approach and losing weight lead you to your BFP.

I feel like I too need to focus on weight loss - the past few months with Clomid I Have been so lazy and slacking on my gym routine and I can feel it. No motivation to run or just really do anything.

I've been on the lowest dose of Clomid for the past two months but am suppose to call and check in with my dr at the end of this cycle. I ovulate on my own but am curious what everyone thinks about upping the dosage of Clomid? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Other input I should consider?

Hi Love2Run. Hope you are doing good today!

I have also been slacking on my gym routine specially in the TWW. At least we should do something or the other everyday or every other day at the gym. May it be a small brisk walk/run or yoga or high intensity exercise. My plan is to do high intensity stuff before "O" then Pilate/yoga/light exercise in the TWW.

You can ask about upping your dose of clomid next cycle. I just got my prescription refill for 100mg clomid for next cycle. I was on lowest dose of clomid like you for last two cycles. I also ovulate on my own. But my OBGYN wants me to come for ultrasound on cd11/12 if I need clomid for further cycles.

So instruction is to take clomid 100mg from cd5-9. But I am wondering should I take it on cd3-7 instead ? I read somewhere that ladies were more successful trying clomid cd3-7. What should I do ? 1st cycle I did 50mg cd4-8, 2nd cycle 50mg cd5-9.

Fairyy---No major symptoms...just mild cramping. I didn't experience morning sickness with DD so I hope to avoid it this time too! I've only taken clomid on cd 2-6 or 3-7. Since you're taking a higher dose, maybe 3-7?

Love2Run---Have you taken clomid the same time each month? Have you have progesterone levels checked on 7dpo? Sometimes we ovulate but it isn't strong enough to release the egg from the follicle or the egg itself was released too early.

I am on cd13 today of my 2nd clomid cycle 75g days 2-6.
I had the cd12 check yesterday and by ob/gyn was happy : oestradiol was at 99 and I have one follicle of 12,5 (and smallers just below 10)
She said this is good sign that 75g is working for me, and that I should ovulate earlier this cycle (cd27 first clomid cycle).

So I will be tracking O, hopefully in the next few days!..

Thanks Joy!!! I ovulated on CD 14 or 15. Yes, this is round 2 for this baby. I took one round trying for DD.

@Piper - yes I have taken clomid the same time both months - CD 5-9. No, I haven't checked my Progestrone levels, my Doctor just wanted me to start taking the progesterone on CD 26 which was yesterday.

I have the same questions as fairyy... should I switch my CD of clomid? I'm going to call my Dr on CD 33 (she instructed me to test that day / stop the progesterone if negative)... why can't these things be easy!?!

@joy - currently on CD 27... and waiting until 33 to test per doctors instructions or progesterone 26-33 then test... arg.

Thanks piper. I am more inclined to try clomid cd3-7 this time. So I will start on cd3. I may ovulate a day or two early then. First cycle took clomid on cd4-8, ovulated on cd15. Second cycle cd5-9, ovulated on cd17.

I finally got a positive opk yesterday, on cd17!
The test was even darker this morning, but starts to fade away now so I guess the pic is over.

As usual, I am very crampy on the side where O is happening and inside my rectum (sorry tmi). O is always very uncomfortable for me for at least an entire day... I was scared something was wrong but all my tests (hsg, etc) were cleared, and I don't have any other endo symptoms (no painful sex or af...) I might ask for a laparoscopy if I still don't get pregnant in the few next cycles, even though I am tired with medical tests. Let's hope I won't need it! I guess we will know in the next 2 weeks!

What about you Fairyy? Are you onto your 3rd cycle with increased dosage?

AF got me this morning and maaaaan she came in with a vengeance. OUUUUUUCH!!! Called my Doctor to talk to her about changing what CD I am taking Clomid or increasing my Clomid mg... but I have yet to hear back...

Aphy sorry that AF got you. I thought the spotting you had was IB. Pretty bummed but don't lose hope hun. I think that may be your progesterone is little low and it can be fixed easily.

AFM: Yes I am onto my third cycle of clomid with increased dosage. AF was supposed arrive on Friday but it showed up on Saturday. So today is cd3 and I will start my clomid from tonight. Probably this is my last cycle on clomid. I don't want to take it anymore unless we are opting for IUI.

Good morning!

finally heard back from my dr pretty late yesterday afternoon... She doesn't think theres any reason to increase my mg on the clomid so I will stick with 50 this month. I asked her about switching the days from 5-9 to 3-7 and she didn't have any knowledge of why there would be a difference. I can't remember who but someone said (maybe you fairyy?) they thought you were to take progesterone 3 days Post Ovulation and I had a friend tell me the same thing so maybe I will go that route this month instead of waiting until day 26 like she wanted me too. She gave me a referral to a specialist so we have an appointment there for the 21st of September if this month on clomid doesn't do the trick.
