Hi ladies
Some advice needed. Olly is 17 weeks old now, and was till last week drinking 8oz, he started draining each bottle, he has 4, so I upped to 9oz, but since then the feeds have been a nightmare, he gets to the last few oz and pushes the bottle around his mouth and out, and all sorts. My OH suggested that 9 is just too much for his tummy, so maybe to give an 8oz in the morn and at night, and maybe try and give him 3 x 6oz feeds in the day, that way he is getting more than 4 x 8oz feeds, but not as much as 4 x 9oz feeds.
I am not sure about what to do.
Did any of your babies do this?
We keep the tv off during feeds, dont talk to him or anything as he did start to get distracted.
Do babies sometimes have a dip in appetite?
Any tips or advice welcome
thanks
x

We just feed leo what he wants which is usually 4oz. Hes been on 4oz since he was about 5wks. he shows no interest in wanting anymore. He has about 24oz per day and sleeps 8/10hrs each night.

Xxx

thanks, anyone else? anyone with babies who have done what olly has with his feeds too?

Caleb's appetite varies - sometimes he'll wake and have 8oz and then other times like his morning he'll have 4! I had upped his bottles in the day to 7oz as he seemed hungry and then he started only wanting 3oz at a time. Seems to coincide with if he's teething or under the weather.

I do get a bit worried but as long as they're drinking think it's ok. After all our appetite varies!

Yep, we had the exact same thing happen the week before Christmas, when LO was 18 weeks. It lasted several days but he was soon back to normal. We tried everything - teething gel, calpol, change of teat size, cooler milk, slightly warmer milk, different positions / chair - everything! Nothing made any difference, and he was back to normal by Christmas day.

ah sunshine thanks for that, makes me feel so much better. will stick to the lower feeds to see how he does and will keep sterile water on stand by if he wants more.
honestly, just as you think things are settling it all changes!
thanks all of you for your responses x
