A little about our past - Last month my period was 7 days late and I tested, it was faint positive. So I posted a pic up on the prego test section and everyone confirmed it said positive. Well then we decided to take a second digital test, it said "Pregnant" and instantly we were so excited, and finaly thought we had a little one on the way.

But nope, I had an appointment at the doctor 4 days late. RIGHT before the appt I saw a little blood and I didn't worry to much cuz I already saw 2 BFP's. However the test at the doctors came back neg and a few hours after came REALLY heavy bleeding.

She said that it was most likely a chemical pregnancy but didn't even really explain anything to me or take time to answer questions because she is a GP not a GYN....

So my point for this post was to see if anyone has any information on chemical pregnancies, and why they might be happening? I know I had one in the begining of the year when I was seeing a fertility specialist, and also one this month. I believe I had one during the summer too. So at least 2 for sure chemicals, possibly 3? I'm not seeing a fertility specialist anymore so I cannot go to that doctor. Would it be a problem with my or possibly DH sperm? We want to know how to try to fix this!

From my understanding chemical pregnancies can be due to a number of things :low progesterone during LP, genetic mutations, implantation on scar tissue in the uterus, clotting disorders, etc. Even if you see a specialist, the cause may be unknown. Chemical pregnancies are extremely common, especially with these early detection tests available OTC. Women are testing as early as a week before AF when we're actually supposed to wait until well after AF is due (easier said than done). Miscarriages in general are so common that some doctors won't even see you until you are at least 8 weeks. My close friend had several chemical pregnancies before getting pregnant with #2. She would get a BFP days after missing AF but every time she went to the doctor the told her she was not pregnant. She never saw a specialist...she just let nature take its course.

I have had two chemicals. Both faint positives and both heavy horrible bleeding. Basically there is a chromosomal issue with the blasyocyst and either fails to fully implant or the body attacks and rejects it xx

A lot of women have them but just don't know it cos they don't test early like us
