were getting some pictures done on friday in a studio for Rivers 1st birthday and i really want some different ones rather then just her standing there with a white background.

just wondered if anyone had any examples or ideas?

:flower:

My sister did some of Finley yesterday & I'll get them tomorrow so I'll pop a few on here for you to have a look at if you like x

We got amelies done and just let her play with toys. They were really nice.

thank you :)

I was thinking of maybe a naked one with a chunky hat on.

Im a bit worried about keeping River stil though she enjoys running off to much

ooo or a naked one with a tuto....

I love little chubby naked babies there so cute

we did have this problem with Finley too so we just did a few at a time but with you going to a studio not sure what your timescale is x

the timing is quite relaxed i think. last time we had 2 hours.

going to get some family shots too and some with the hound :)

I really love black and white photos, with something colorful- like a red ball for example. And it always makes it a little different when the baby/child isn't looking at the camera too.

If the photographer is any good then her running around wont be a problem and will even make for some better shots.
I used to encourage the kids to run around and be silly because to me the best photos are ones that catch their spitit and personality, if a child is just sitting down possing its not the real them, you want to remember them how they where realy, cheeky, hyper, playfull and I used to get praised very highly for my candid shots with parents saying I had caught their personality so well :)

Take some of her faverite toys, they are handy for bribing and she is more likely to feel comfertable with something familier and show her true self plus her own faverite toys are often nice to capture in the photo as well especialy if its somthing like a first teddy so you still have that part of the memory in years to come as well.

Some things we used to play around with (we had our own but parents brought some along as well) are things like tutus, fairy wings, faverite teddy.
I lovely one that always turned out nicely was fake scattered rose pettels or holding a big large artifical flower.
Also maybe take a bottle of bubbles with you, most of this is stuff most studios will have (apart from personal toys) so chack with them what they have so if they dont you can take something with you.

I wish I could post some of the photos from my portfolio from the studio photos I used to do to give some idea of differant things but I dont think its fair (and probably very illigal)to post photos of other peoples children on the internet when I only had their permission for a portfolio

this studio doesnt have toys its one the photographers high out and is mostly used to adult photos i think

will definatly look out for a tuto i think

My friend did this for her DD 1st birthday. She had a lovely pic of her on a little wooden pink chair and a balloon in the shape of a 1 next to her, along with a few other toys. It was really nice

Just having a look at them now, it wasn't a wooden chair, it was one of those kiddies armchairs. Also a nice pic of her DD loking in a mirror and the photographer taking a pic from behind of the reflection. Another one sitting at a childs piano and one with building blocks.

If it's a white background I always think nice bright colours for clothes work well and nothing too patterned. We find that people are really particular with their clothes but then forget that their shoes / socks will be seen as well.

Rasins or treats that aren't too messy as everything will show on the camera!!

Em definately toys that you know will hold her attention. Pics running about do look good but we find sometimes they want to run around everywhere but where the backdrop is! Oh one thing we used when a wee boy just wouldn't stay in the backdrop is colouring book and crayons. The pics were nice of him playing. Also a soft ball works quite well as you can be throwing it to them which means you get them moving but in the area you want them to be!

Hope this helps, have fun x

I got Finley's pics today so I'll post the ones i like the best tonight when I have more time x

I do all mine myself and they always come out better then studios etc, I think kids feel more relaxed with people they know. Bubbles are always a good thing x

I will find out the cd and post some for you later, mine are almost 5 years old now when Morgan was 16 months and Naomi-Mae 1 month but they might give you ideas.

Was gonna suggest bubbles, or confetti...im sure she would look gorgeous looking up at bubbles smiling! :) xx

Got some of the photos back.

Am really happy with them so far :cloud9:

Got the family shots to come back still

Thank you all for your ideas they really helped
