Christmas 2010 shooping

Ok so i gave in, we made an order for 4 hampers for us and kids and it came to 8 pound something a week with 26 weeks remaining.That means only presants to spend money on

i put a set amount of money away each month for gifts, but i usually don't actually start shopping for gifts until october.

We probably won't start buying presents until sept/oct but we have already started saving x

Heck no. Far too early for me. TBH, I always found that the earlier I bought, the more money I spent....because the prices were at regular price and because my kids would tell me a few things that they really wanted.

I have found too that my kids outgrow things they like in 6 months.

This year, my shopping will be done in December as I've found prices go down that month.

I pick things up in the sales that happened throughout the year.

My mam got my daughters as was in jan sales.

Im gonna buy the nanies stuff as thats easy as he/she will be 2 months or so, ill also buy my husbands as he is not picky and i can buy him stuff that he wont get bored of and then nearer christmas if there something new then we get that.I cant start my boys shopping till later though.But i will buy my boys clothes for winter if i see them in sales

I went a bit crazy last year so this year I'm only getting them a couple each. If I see something at a good price I'll get it

Yeah i went too mad last year, they got 20 presents each lol.This year im gonna get them something big each and then a few small things.Plus my older son will be 5 in jan so cant go too mad lol

i've already got few bits stashed away ready.


in 2007 my OH was made redundant in march, and teh only way we could see the boys (then 2 of) had some xmas gifts was to buy 1 a week/fortnight when we did the shopping, by end of year they had loads of little bits - action figures, pocket games etc. and since then we have just continued buying throughout the year. this is much easier now we have 3 to buy for and means we dont have to find loads of money in dec!



i cant believe some of you are saying you went crazy last yr with 20gifts - most yrs my kids have about £300 speant on each of them!!! whether this is 1 big and loads of small and clothes or loads of small. my parents always did the same for us.
