Hello! I realised yesterday that I will have a baby by Christmas. I know they won't be aware etc but I'd still like to get them some presents. We are team yellow so can't get anything personalised or gender specific. Any ideas?
I found a playgym really good for entertaining my dd after she was a few weeks old. You can get gender neutral ones. I think a book is a lovely idea. We got a personalised star to hang on the tree for dd first Christmas although there might not be time to order it as you don't know baby's name.
I was literally coming on here this morning to start this thread myself. Dh and I had a talk about this yesterday and half decided that little bubz will be too little to really notice ( I am sure he will enjoy all the lights and fuss) so we will get him one "keepsake" sort of item and then get him clothes bit cheeky I know, but he will be far too little!!!
DD was around 16 weeks old on her first Christmas and she didn't have a clue so we have decided this time around that we aren't buying any presents for DS, we are going to open a savings account and put some money in. Friends and family will no doubt buy him things.
Baby will be around about 3 weeks old at Christmas. I am not getting much purely because I do not know what everyone else is getting and I would rather top up on everything the baby still actually needs after all the gifts from everyone else had been opened so will probably just be 1 soft toy that has like rattle and crinkly and different textured bits on it. Then I can nip out just after Christmas to get anything else.
My first was about 8 weeks old last year for Christmas and we didn't get him anything. Well I did wrap a book for him, but it was silly because I opened it. My mil got him an exersaucer though, and others got him clothes and stuffed animals.
we're not going to get ours much. he'll have pretty much everything he needs when he's born. I thought about a play mat, seen a nice blue one in argos that has a soft cushion like mat and some soft teddies and comforters
We'll definitely get ours a little something from us and from Santa - more for our DD, who will be confused if Santa doesn't get her little brother /sister something! It won't be much though - I don't see the point in spending a fortune and I'm sure my parents will buy enough for all of us!
Awww such a sweet thought, a newborn at Christmas! I love Christmas 🎄
My DS was almost one last year and I wish I got him a 'baby first Christmas' ornament or something like that but we were traveling and with my in laws so it was tricky. This year I'm not sure if ill have my baby for Christmas or not (depends on when my c section is scheduled for) but if I do I'll get a cute keepsake. And I'm going to make one with a photo in for my DS and pretend it was from last year! Lol. Excited to be home for Christmas!!
Oh yeah, we did get a gorgeous buble (sp?) With my son's name on for his first Christmas, or you could go to your local pottery painting place and get babies footprint on something! I love doing that with ds, we have a framed handprint and a foot print on a money box with a message for father's day
My baby is due November 14th but because of my last two early labours I doubt he will make it that long, since he will most likely be close to 10 weeks old, we might get him a couple baby toys if he were much younger I might just get him a book and blanket or something like that...
I had a Christmas baby and I wrapped one present for hIm since he got everything during his baby shower and took a couple pictures. I got a blanket with his name on it=)
