Christmas.....

OH CRAP don't mention that word! We got married in Dec last year and are still paying that off, we bought a house last month and also found out that I was expecting the month before so i can't handle anything else!! Christmas is cancelled. Unless people want to buy us baby and house things or throw money our way of course.... LOL x x x

haha this made me lol, i know that feeling x

We got my stepson all done last week and his mothers present a month ago. Hubby and I are probably going to just buy the big nursery items as our presents to each other. We really dont need/want anything as we already have plenty of tech toys and gadgets. Our gift to ourselves was getting rid of all credit card debt this year and we won't be using them during Christmas either! My family doesn't spend much money on Christmas. It's not that they don't have the money, but they hated seeing friends spend tons of money on mountains of rarely used toys for the kids. I agree with that. Id rather get something special and then spend the money on experiences like Disney world or other parks where my kids will remember for years.
If you don't like spending tons of money, one idea is a dress up box. My stepson loves pretending he's his favorite superhero or ninja and I waited til the day after halloween and loaded up on tons of costumes at different stores at 75% off. Girls love dress up too and they had plenty left over.

wow, thats a pretty awesome idea :D I may have to steal that one for my little boy when hes old enough :D and I deffo agree with you, more money to spend on a lovely holiday and such is way better then spoiling kids at christmas with 'too' many toys. Yes me and oh will be doing the same this year :)

Yep! I'm nearly done. I actually started buying presents in the January sales - I must have known!!!
:)

Not yet but I am so excited too!!

Don't fancy the crowds in Dec when I will be huge!!

See I wish I has started in the January sales, would make life so much easier and help spread the cost too

I have
Wouldn't normally start at this time of year (or even before 2nd week in Dec actually!) but as I'm due Xmas Day I thought I'd better start and get a few bits as I see them...

Same here!!!!!
I haven't started yet tho, i'm going to have a look while we'r out baby shopping today! Got a one year old nephew and a five year old neice to get xmas and b'day presents for so could very well see somethin today.
For some random reason i thought the other day that even if i start buying stuff i couldn't wrap it but then, as if by magic, i went to Tesco yesterday and they've got their xmas paper out now so even thats sorted
xx

Haven't started buying yet but I know what I'm getting for most people. I'm not going too mad this year because of moving house and baby so need to save a few pennies but everyone's fine about that. Me and OH will just get each other something small.

I actually squeaked with excitment the other day when I walked into m&s and there were Christmas cards and wrapping paper out!! I LOVE Christmas, thinking online shopping this year though as don't like buying too early and I'm due on new years day! X

Online shopping sounds like a good idea actually, I just have soooo much to buy, like christmas presents, baby stuff and things for our new house. How the hell Im going to manage I have no clue lol

Yeah something small is all we can afford this year too, although my bf said hes going to buy me some charms for my pandora bracelet and a new pair of shoes after the baby is born as a little thank you, im more excited about that tbh

I love Christmas but I'm dreading being a chubster and trying to manouevre my way through aisles in shops and fight other shoppers while I've got achey legs and I'm having another hot flush LOL. Good plan to start shopping soon but I'm going to be so tight for money, with crappy maternity pay to plan for + all the baby stuff still to buy, can't see anyone getting much :/
