My little girl's in reception, I know there's one or two kids I *have to* buy presents for from H as they're her "bestest friends in the whole world"...but I don't know the standpoint on distributing gifts to other children! I don't want to be in a situation whereby someone gives something to Heather and she doesn't give something back...

Any tips from people with older kids?

It has been a while so not sure if things have changed, but it was just best friends when son was younger (although some might count your lo as best friend & you have never heard of them!) but the school started to do secret santa as my son got older so no one felt left out, might be worth asking the teacher what school policy is? Sorry not much help.x

my sons school dont allow gifts to be swapped in class - you do it outside of school hours b4 or after school or at weekends. they do allow cards though. i'd ask the school about it so you dont end up in an awkward situation.

I used to be a teacher, and i think def swap presents outside of the classroom!!!
