Clomid Babies - Success stories please!!!!

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in the winter of 2001. In 2002 at the age of 16 I had my first surgery to clear out the scar tissue from my uterus and ovaries. Hubby and I got married in 2005 and knew right away we both wanted children. We got pregnant May 2006. Everything was going great. I had all the symptoms of an early pregnancy, but sadly on June 28th 2006 I had a miscarriage. The doctor said it was nothing I did to cause it and to just let my body have one good period and then try again. We tried and we tried. In November of 2007 my gyno thought it would be a good idea to go in and do another Laproscopy to check on my "endo". After the surgery he told me that all was clear and he didn't see any issues as to why I couldn't get pregnant. He said to give it another year and that if I wasn't pregnant by the end of 2008 to come back to him for further testing. Well along came December 2008 and we still weren't pregnant, so we went back to the doctor. He did testing on both of us. Checked DH's sperm count and my hormone levels. He said all were perfect. He said he was going to put me on 50mg of Clomid to up my chances of ovulation. After only one month of being on the Clomid we were pregnant. We were amazed at how it only took one month. I was also put on Prometrium once I was pregnant because of my previous MC.

Hi, i got pregnant on 3rd cycle of 50mg clomid after trying for 16 months with PCOS and very irregular periods, sometimes 4/5 months apart,in July 2008, sadly had a missed miscarriage, but success all the same. Went back on the clomid (50mg) in November and after 3 cycles again was pregnant again (luck 3's), our dd was born in September last year. Was breastfeeding, had one period and was not trying, not preventing (defo no charting and stressing) and am now 17 weeks pregnant!

To me clomid is a miracle drug, don't think I would ever have my daughter without it. I think it really kickstarted my body and as I've heard so many times from other people, once your body knows what to do, to just does it!

Best of luck with the clomid, I know how disappointing it can be every month but have faith, if it was successful in making you ovulate chances are you'll get your BFP soon.

xx

Me and OH had been trying for about 4 years after coming off the pill, and was notified that I had PCOS last june and was put on metformin to start off with. I was asked to take this for six months and unfortunately nothing came of it. I was then prescribed Clomid in January and took it in February during days 2-6 of my cycle and fell pregnant first cycle. I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. I also had acupuncture with my first cycle of clomid - so it could have been either or both. Best of luck to you and I'm sure clomid will work wonders for you to. Fingers crossed.

Hi - I got pregnant on my first round of clomid. Had one cycle of unmedicated IUI which was unsuccessful. 2nd round of IUI, I took 50mg of clomid, produced 3 large follicles and got my BFP. I ov'd on my own but had been diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve and had v short cycles. We'd been trying for nearly 2 years before we tried clomid. Good luck x

Thanks for your story hun-and congrats. How short were your cycles? I just ov'd on cd11 last cycle and got my af on cd25....pretty short but my lp is always 14 days so I assumed I was ok-is it harder to get pg with short cycles? We've been trying almost two years too. What days did you take it and did you do anything else different? Thanks~

Hi, I wasn't ovulating (TTC 18 months) and got prescribed 50 mg of Clomid back in Feb. With the first round (after a round of provera to induce a period) I did ovulation kits and got a positive for the first time, so knew the Clomid was working. A couple of weeks later, we found out we were pregnant! I also used a softcup to keep the sperm around my cervix longer! (not sure if it helped but it might well have). It will work for you i'm sure, especially if you know it's getting you ovulating. I reckon it's all about timing so would recommend ovulation tests. GOOD LUCK x x x

i was put on clomid 50mg in november & fell pregnant on cycle one only to miscarry at 6 weeks. they kept me on clomid for another 6 months & we finally fell pregnant with this baby from my june clomid cycle. i was put on baby aspirin for the first few weeks & after 2 scans, little one is doing fab :happydance:

the one thing i did differently with my june cycle was to throw away my opks & just set ourselves a testing date at what would be roughly 10dpo. i'm not sure if it was because there was less pressure or we were more relaxed that we fell that cycle but it makes you wonder. when i did the test i wasn't really expecting to see a line so i almost fell off the toilet seat in shock lol!

good luck sweety, i'm sure it will happen for you & i keep everything crossed xxxx

My success story- We were ttc for about 10 months, I have very irregular periods 2-3 months apart, not sure if I even o somewhere in there, as "auntie flow" is often very light. I talked to my regular gyno and he had me chart for a full cycle and then come back. When I returned with the longest most irregular looking temp chart ever he gave me clomid 50mg without any testing. To my disappointment I did not ovulate that cycle and had to take prometrium to get my period. he upped me to 100mg for the second cycle and told me if that didn't do the trick we would start doing some testing. And poof! I got pregnant that cycle. Clomid is a miracle worker! Good luck!

Wow this is a wonderful threat. I have an appointment with my Doctor next week because when I went to see her when we first ttc she said that if I had not got my :bfp: in 6 months (due to me being over 35) that she wanted to see me back. Well it has been a little longer than 6 months, it has been 9 because my OH wanted to give it a little bit longer. So when I go I am going to mention clomid to her. He has had a SA and that was ok. I have had trans vaginal scan and that showed up normal. I came off the pill in January and my cycles were very irregular, getting longer and longer then the last 3 cycles have settled at 27 days so I think they are regulated now and my hormones seem to have settled down. The lady doctor I saw did blood works when I first saw her in Feb and my progesterone levels were good which showed I ovulate. I use OPK's and I ovulate every month.

My BIG question is.....will they prescribe me with clomid if I am already ovulating? I do sometimes spot a little a few days before af. But that has not been the case this last cycle. I am due to test in 3 days but I don't think I am preggars lol.

I was also put on Prometrium once I was pregnant because of my previous MC.

congrats on your little one, may i ask though whats Prometrium??

Prometrium is a progesterone pill used in the first trimester for woman who have had previous miscarriages. A lot of doctors are determined that most early miscarriages are due to low progesterone levels and the pill raises progesterone levels to help secure the pregnancy.

Hi there Missymoomoo! :hi:

I think it does depend on how good your doctor is, on my first month of taking clomid, when I went to docs to check for ov my blood test came back with progesterone level of 38! My consultant has advised me to keep taking 50mg of clomid every month until dec to 'boost ovulation'. Even though I am ovulating ( using opk's) it can give you abit of a kick start if that makes sense lol!

Best of luck to you, these success stories are great and give me so much hope!

Lots of :dust: your way x

Yes Princess they do me too. I love this thread!!! It's brilliant. And thank you for explaining that. I feel so much better now. I have just been to the doctors actually as I managed to get my appointment put forward and mr Doctor has referred me to a Fertility Specialist. I have a choice of around 10 places where I can go but she did mention a specific doctor with very good feedback and success rates and he is local to me so I am going with him. I will let you know how I get on.

Are you on your 3rd round now princess. Any side effects or not and if so are they bearable?

I have heard that taking the pills at night helps with side effects. x

Thats great news about your app with the fs Missy, def keep me updated!

Yes on my 3rd month of clomid, af is due 25th of this month so going to start testing from 22nd. I got positive with OPK aswell so know I def ovulated again!

I take mine cd 2-6, the first month side effects were quite bad - made me really moody and kept having really hot flushes, month 2 just hot flushes again however this month no side effects at all so I presume my body is sort of used to the clomid now. I take mine in a morning too.

Glad you like the thread, I decided to change the name slightly yesterday to Clomid babies just to see if we can get any more success stories!

Good luck to you re your app and keep me posted x

Oh I am interested in hearing your success too. I am sure it will be soon. I will keep you updated. So did you ovulate too from coming off the pill?
When I had my blood works done back in feb.....just a month after coming off pill, my progesterone level was 32.8 but nobody has ever explained to me whether this is good or bad. I have no idea. Is it ok? I bet it's bad isn't it. hmmm

Anything 30 or over is def a good sign and means you've ovulated hun!

I didn't get blood tests done untl 1 year after ttc and my progesterone was about 14 I think so was definatley ovulating. My blood test after my first cycle of clomid showed my progesterone level was 38 x

Wow. I am so hopeful I will be given Clomic on my visit. So hopeful as I am over 35 and I think that I need this kick start. But what I am afraid of is if my FS doesn't want to give it to me after my "needing" to ask for it. I know if he doesn't seem forthcoming with wanting to prescribe it I will ask him for it as this is my nature. Now I know of the amazing powers of this fertility drug I can't get it out of my head. I will be so disappointed if he doesn't give it to me.

I don't know how to go about it. Shall I just wait to see the outcome of my visit and after the whole time if he doesn't mentioned Clomid, should I then ask him about it and ask that he prescribes it for me? If I do this maybe I will offend him. I have this weird way of pissing doctors and medical people off sometimes because I always know what I have and what I need and I almost tell them how to do their jobs. I don't know why I do this but it's always as if I know what's best for me. I'm so stubborn, lol.

But on one of the posts previous to this another lady who also had unexplained fertility like myself, who was ovulating and her partner also had no apparent issues, mentioned that it was only upon asking her FS about Clomid that she actually got prescribed it! On that first cycle she got her BFP. If you go back you will see. She had been trying for many years. It gives me a great sense of hope but also a little bit of worry now as I think that if my FS doesn't first prescribe Clomid that I will also have to ask for it and that just seems wrong to have to ask somebody for something that that somebody should already be offering to you. Do you get what I mean?

I'm not a doctor, nor am I a FS, but I do have a sense that for some reason I feel drawn towards Clomid and it's success.

thanks princess for letting me know about this thread, i am also due for AF on the 25th but my bloodtests were done yesterday and im sure my OB would have called if she saw that i was pregnant... so i think im out this month but am very looking forward to starting clomid, a little worried about the possible side effects, how have you found them? have you poas yet??
