So I'm not sure what to expect as these will be my first children. After labor will you be packing clothes to wear at the hospital during the day or PJs?

I had my LO at home... but I lived in my maternity yoga pants and my hubby's oversized t-shirts for the first couple of days. Your bleeding a lot at first, so it's nice to be wearing something black... and you likely won't want anything form-fitting on your soggy belly. ;)

i was in hospital for the first few days as i was not well but i just stayed in my jammies but the first day i got home we went to tesco so i put on my jeans (prepregnancy i was delighted) and i pretty much lived in jeans from then they are my wardrobe staple.

I'm packing leggings and long tops. After having DS I stayed in for a night and getting out of my PJ's and into normal clothes made me feel much better- being in my J's in the day makes me feel like I'm sick! Leggings are good as they are stretchy and comfy, and long tops cover that wobble!

I was in PJ's in the hospital. Yes to black, although I just bought some new ones that aren't but the bottoms are more for when I am home. Anyway I digress . . . PJ's for afterwards and then some comfy leggins and baggy top for afterwards to go home in.

Pack a nightie as well just in case you end up needing a c section and have to have a catheter in! x

I brought a bunch of pairs of black sweatpants, and I'm so glad I did. I was living with them through the end of my pregnancy anyway, and I didn't look much smaller until weeks after giving birth. And, I actually didn't bleed that much, but if I had bled through my diapers/pads/other forms of protection, I'd much rather NOT stain my black pants rather than stain up any lighter pants.

I have black yoga and sweat pants packed as well as a pair of nursing pjs

I had my baby at 4.54pm so wore my pjs that night and then the next day too and the second day i wore leggings and a comfy long top! :)

I'll probably through in a pair of old sweatpants and some nursing tank tops. I had a c-section with my son and that's what I wore after I eventually changed out of the hospital gown (which I think I got my catheter out fairly soon after, so I didn't have to worry about that).

I agree with Eleanor Ace, you can wear PJs at the hospital but have 3-4 well tailored comfy outfits to wear at home. Getting up and getting dressed, putting on some makeup and maybe a spritz of your favourite perfume (some people don't like to wear perfume when they are breastfeeding or have a newborn) does wonders for your mood and energy levels.

Sometimes you will feel worn out and overwhelmed and the last thing you want to do is catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and think "*ugh* and I look awful too!".

I'd get some leggings and some nice cotton tunics/t-shirt dresses. Comfy, easy to wash, and looks good!

HTH ^.^
