completly stuck for boys and girls names

no matter what names me and my OH come up with we can never decide completly on them as they just don't seem to feel right if you get what i mean.

We want something slightly unusual but not completly out there but because my last name is smith (will be baby's last name too) we find it difficult to match up an unusual name with smith.

the only thing that we have definately decided on for the names is the surname which will be smith and the boys middle name which will be john (family reasons for that)

so any ideas that you all have would be brilliant, open to any suggestions :-D

i think with smith u have a lot more scope as to what u can pick, as a rule of thumb a 2 syllable name works better with smith for a girl, - i speak from experience my maiden name lol

for eg, Joanne Smith - sounds fine
Jo smith - not so great lol

im my family we have danielle, helen, ellen, maureen, rachel, for girls paul scott lee wayne and connor for boys,

i've really been thinking about harry john smith for a boy but OH thinks harry is only because i'm a harry potter crazy lady but if im honest it never came to mind when i thought the name but he's still not keen

and i really liked bethany rose smith for a girl but realised that was my cousins name ... oops, dont think i could have that then so back to the drawing board for girls names
