concerned about how my friend makes up formula.

A bottle with powder in it only lasts 2 hrs that what i was told anyways

how long does she keep it in the warmer for? maybe suggest read the packaging of formula that she has it says clear instructions of how to do it xx

she makes up 3 at a time - he feeds 4 hourly so that's twelve hours right? -the last one is in there 12 hours! I wouldn;t even keep one in the fridge for that long! Yes the milk with powder in is supposed to be kept for only two hours, But people do cool immediately and fridge them - which I have done but I've never kept it for longer than 4 hrs this way but this is kept at room temp for hours. I am really worried now but don;t want to seem like I am interfering - but think I need to interfere. I was thinking of buying her some ready made cartons and say oh my friend changed milk and asjked if anybody I knew used this brand - ridiculous I know!

my god im just really confused. even if you lived in a bubble theres no way you wouldnt notice that doesnt seem safe.. so im thinking maybe she knows but she obvously isnt too bothered? honestly im one of those people i just have to say " like really ur at home all day and you really need to make up that many warm? are you aware of how much bacteria is manifesting in that bottle. fair enough your babys fine now but you have no idea what that bacteria is doing in the body. " sounds harsh but its the baby ur thinking about not her feelings. it seems she is aware but not bothered if shes seen how u do it and still cnt see an issue. . and INTERFERE id rather loose a friend (if shes that petty) and feel like ive done all i can do to make sure the health of that baby is looked after. dont get me wrong im no exxpert my daughters only been on formula like a week lol but there is no one that will say 12 hours in a warm bag is anyway acceptable hun xx

edit- but how long will u be making the ready made cartons for her?? lol it doesnt seem worth it as she might not even use it

Tell her that its not important of who is right or wrong, but that her precious bundle of joy stay health! Tell her you've read information for your own knowledge and thought she might be interested in reading it.

Specifically stated in the article....
"How long can mixed formula keep in the fridge?
You should always refrigerate any bottles you fill for later feedings to prevent bacteria from growing, as well as any open containers of ready-to-feed or concentrate formula. Throw away any mixed formula after 24 hours and any open ready-to-feed or concentrate formula after 48 hours.

How long can a bottle keep at room temperature?
Discard any prepared or ready-to-feed formula that's been sitting out after 1 hour.

If formula is left over, can I offer it again?
No, throw away any leftover formula. There's a chance bacteria may have formed since the last feeding, which could make your baby sick. "

Hope that helps! If at all possible, tell her you made that mistake and someone informed you luckily before your little one got sick.. fib a little to spare HER little one getting sick ;)
