I booked tickets back in september to take dd1 (nearly 8) to see her favourate band, which is just less than a couple of weeks away now.

I booked the tickets very soon before i became pregnant :)
So at the concert i'll be 31weeks pregnant. just wondered if its ok for me still to go? the sound/loud music wont scare the baby will it? x

It will be fine. The baby's hearing is protected in the womb.. it can hear but because it's surrounded by fluid the sound waves are different than for our ears. It'll be more muffled.

I was advised to beware high decibles because the babies ears are still forming. My guess is that it depends on what you are comfortable with. Sitting directly in front of the giant speakers or being in a very small venue where you would need earplugs yourself may not be the best place for the baby.

I don't know though, that's just what I was told when we were looking to go to a concert recently. I ultimately decided to stay home because I had been to this particular band's show before and knew that the noise would be too much.

I went to a concert around 25 weeks and she seemed totally fine in there...moved around a bit but nothing unusual to signal that she was alarmed/in distress. I also mentioned it to my doctor afterwards and she wasn't concerned in the slightest.

Not sure how much of a difference six weeks would make, but I can't imagine it'd change all that much. Maybe give your doctor/midwife a quick call and just run it by them, see what they say.

Check out this link, it's very reassuring: https://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/lloud-noises.aspx

We wont be too close to the speakers but concerts lasts like 1.5hours and is loud but its not like rock music or anything.

I took my DH to see LMFAO on 9th march so I wouldve been about 30-31 weeks and it was fine, the bass made me a but uncomfortable but LO was bumping about lol and he's been fine since. I'd go and don't worry :) x

thanks ...i guess i just worry about people bumping into me and the looooooooooong ques for loo when your 7months pregnant lol x

The whole people bumping into me thing is what probably ruined my night but I emailed the venue in advance asking if I could sit anywhere and they said we could use the seating upstairs if it became available (which it did!) and we had a much better time/view that way :) I got a couple of 'oh look at her she's pregnant' comments too which was annoying but I guess you don't see us pregnant ladies at concerts much :D Hope you have a great time! X

why? your pregnant your at a concert hardlt crime of the centuary lol
did peeps bump into you or were you sitting?

1 concert will be fine. If it was like you worked as a dj or somehting then itd be a problem for babies ears but the odd concert is fine. Ists the sortof concert where you will sat (ie chairs/rows so you dont get bashed into by others?)
xx

Yeah its got chairs n rows but a lot of people stand up and its annoying as its quite cramped and some peeps bump into you. also the thought of having to squeeze by people in the row with a bump and go up and down stairs to the loo is a pain lol x

I guess you don't see it very often lol and they were about 15 years old, probably thought it was weird!
Downstairs when we were standing, yes. Had loads of people push past us from the side to try and get to the front so we moved back and eventually went upstairs. Being upstairs was wonderful, no pushing or bumping at all :)

was it quite cramped upstairs at the seats? just the thought of all the stairs up and down to the seat, bumping people and squeezing past peeps to get loo then long ques lol x

Yes but simply because it was a sold out concert but honestly you'll be fine, people see belly and move out the way lol and hardly anyone goes to the loo because they don't want to miss out on music x

it will be FINE i went to see Arctic Monkeys while pg and they were LOUD but i had a fab time dont thin it can do any harm to baby just a one off concert, my DD wants me to take her to Mcfly which I am more than happy to do but she is insisting on standing which i wont do now coz of my spd told her compromise and sit and i will come with you

We are pregnant not dead, go have fun!!!:) I went to a concert 2 weeks ago and it was great. Just stay away from anywhere mosh pits form and you will be okay.

I went to a Rammstein concert about 4 weeks ago, we booked seats. It was fine, Rammstein aren't exactly quiet lol. Baby is fine, had a bit of wriggling during some of the bass.

Like someone else said, most people move when they see a pregnant lady at a gig, plus toilets are usually free cos no one wants to miss the band. Just make sure and drink plenty of water with it being so hot inside.

Enjoy!

I'm going to an NHL (hockey for those not in Canada/USA) game on Monday, I'll be 35 weeks...it'll be loud and crazy but I'm not really concerned about it...in fact if she's born at the hockey game I wonder if they'll give me season tickets?? (just kidding, I don't actually want her to be born at 35 weeks!)
