CT Scan while pregnant?

Hey girls,

Well just checked the mail, and I had an appt reminder from the doctor, for a CT scan for this month. I've heard that you are not supposed to have xrays or CT's which expose you to the highest amount of radiation while you are pregnant... Is this true?

I'm going to call my doctors office in the morning to find out if it was sent to me by mistake, (I never made this appointment)... But have any of you heard of this while pregnant? I immediately started thinking the worst... If they saw something wrong with bubs on the U/S that we had.. I'm nervous. But I'm going to call first thing in the morning..

Oh...I would def. remind them that you are Preg. I have never had a CT but anytime I have gone in for an x-ray they have always aske if I was Preg or could be preg. Also once I had to have an x-ray of my Kidneys and they were taking them from the front so they used some special thing to cover my Ovaries. so I would not take any chances.

ur not supposed to have xrays while pg hun maybe it is just a mistake but ring and check

Est Ct Scans, I dont want to scare you but they give off alot more radation then a regular xray. If I were you Id see if there is another test or find out if its urgent. If it isnt wait intill after pregnancy.

I called the doctors office and they said it was definitely a mistake scheduling me for a CT scan. When I called, she was like "Are you sure your pregnant?" I told her, well I'm 22 weeks, so if I'm not I'm really confused about whats going on here.. Glad they aren't suggesting I do a CT for anything...but they did say they want me to come in for a follow up from my last ultrasound... I hate this doctors office cause nothing is really clear to me about what is going on. Sorry for venting, and thanks for the advice girls. =)
