Cycle Day 1 anyone? (TTC#1)

I am definitely going to supplement with the cheapies and then do the digis as a backup. Something nice about seeing that smiley face!

I just can't spend that much money, hahaha! I hate paying a lot of money on something I pee on.

Hey SMandel22 - and everyone here - looks like I am joining this group. Thanks for putting this together.

I am 36, going into 5th month ttc for #1. Thought I had it this past month and was 3 days late (first time I have been late in many, many years). Temp even went up this AM. Started spotting yesterday and really hoped it was decidual but, alas, it's real. "They" say give it another month or two then see specialist due to our age (God that makes me feel old.) Was really down last night but it's only been 4 months and in reality that is not long.

A nice big glass of wine tonight will be my reward for enduring, then off to the races again!

Last month was the first month I used bbt and opk so I am going to try that again. I have tried bding every other day, every day etc. Not really going to worry about that anymore. If we feel like it great (last month that still turned into every day..)

I usually ovulate around CD 14-16 and have a luteal of 12-13 (this past month ov cd 16 and had 14 day luteal)

For the past 4 months (of course, just in time for ttc) I stopped getting EWCM and stopped spotting during ovulation. I had seemed very fertile until I needed to be.

That's probably all you ever wanted to know about me! How 'bout you?

Nooooooooooo!!!!! I had such high hopes for you!!!!! You're right, 4 months isn't terrible. It's frustrating, but you're still young! (Don't listen to "them".) It's scary, they say your age could be a factor and I'm only a few years younger than you, so if it makes you feel any better, I'm feeling old now too!!

I was feeling really down the past few days too. I know it was only my first month TTC, but I would of sworn I had timed everything perfectly! Got a pos OPK and all!

It sounds like your cycles are very much the same, so I really look forward to sharing this next month with you and every time I hope for a BFP for myself, I'll hope for you too! :)

Which ones do you use?

I used the CB digis last month and still have some left. I was thinking of supplementing with ICs so I can test more than once a day. In addition, on cycle 1 I got two surges, so I may just keep POAS for awhile so that I don't miss it.

I use the internet cheapies. Wondfo brand. I have used them for just one month and I thought they were bad until I kept using them and then got an amazingly dark test line, and then I felt dumb for thinking that they were all broken, lol. I ovulate around Cycle Day 14-16, so I start using them on cycle day 12 once a day, and then twice a day Cycle Day 14-17 and adjust as needed.

I ovulated or got my surge on opk at cd 10 last month.. Early bird!! Wish I'd kept testing tho incase I got a second surge , damn it x

I'm thinking I might keep testing throughout the month too. Only because my boobs get sore about 8 days before AF. I always thought that was Af starting to show signs, but now I'm thinking it might be from when I ovulate. Who knows, so I'm going to start the OPK's on Cycle Day 12 and continue throughout the month. It's going to be an expensive month, lol.

Thanks! I look forward to it too. I think it will help to share this journey.

It's amazing the changes that occurred in my 35th year. I never really thought about it much prior to that. From age 35-39 there is only a 60% chance of conceiving in 1 year - eggs simply get old. How's that for feeling young!! There is a big difference (fertility wise) between 30 and 35. But, I seem to be ovulating, I have gotten pos OPKs when I used them, my temps rise when they should, so I am better off than many.

I am hopeful and will keep on trying as long as needed. At least the trying part is fun! :winkwink:

If you're ovulating, I'm sure everything will work out just fine for you!!

Have any of you tried the Sperm Meets Egg Plan? Although we have tried every other day and every day, I have not tried this. Supposedly it has a 40% success rate - even factoring that only about 1 in 4 eggs are viable for the average woman. (I think that stat is for 3 months of trying it since that is what the author recommends, but not sure.)

Think I may talk to my hubby tonight and see if he wants to give it a shot.

Twiggers - sounds like you have a good plan as well. If you have two surges may as well go for the gusto with both! And, btw, I am jumping on your bandwagon. 35 (or so) IS an arbitrary number. I happen to like statistics too much for my own good - even though I know how easy it is to manipulate results. So thanks!

Hanging in there. For some reason I got 0 cramps this month and they were horrid pre-birth control. They are also lighter than pre-BC. But I'll take it! I'm thinking they might start getting worse as I progress.

Other than that....just trying to get things ready to move on Saturday. We built a new house and close tomorrow AM. And a nice giant cold sore decided to appear this AM. Ugh. Probably due to the stress of work, the TWW, and the house.

I'm looking forward to cycle 2.....now that I kind of know what to expect I'm hoping the next TWW will be much less stressful.

Are y'all following SMEP? Or OPKing?

I'll start OPKing on CD10. FF thought my O day was CD12, but I thought it was CD14 or maybe even CD16. So we'll see what this month brings.

Just saw you already meantioned SMEP! Should probably read these posts a bit more... :dohh:

DH is on board for SMEP. I usually get a pos OPK anywhere from CD 11 - 14 so I am hoping for the earlier end this month.

Back in the positive groove and can't wait to see who gets their BFP this cycle. At least one person in the group will!

I like those odds huni :)

I have been making a couple of calls on my break today. Have any of you tried acupuncture and/or massage to assist in pregnancy? I think I may give one or both a shot as well but not sure which path to take. Please let me know if you have any experience.
