Hey guys.. found out today i have a blighted ovum (should be 8wks, have completely empty sac measuring 6 and a half wks)

I have decided that im going to go in for erpc which they say should be done tomorrow or friday... and im scared.

Has anyone had this done? What can i expect before/during/after?
Would you do it again or wait it out naturally?

i am very sorry wishes:hugs::hugs::hugs:...

wishes ive had both. had a eprc which went fine and to be honest i prefered it to the natural way, i miscarried on saturday and it was really upsetting as i saw my babys sac and had a scan today and not passes all the clots/tissue so may have to go in for the tablet method to expell whats there.
having a miscarriage naturally is much more traumatic.
dont worry babes the doctors have done this so many times and will take care of you. my body got back to normal very quickly with a erpc this time its dragging on :(

big cuddles though and keep strong xx

Ive had weeks of knowing its not right and just waiting and waiting and waiting... i think from the sound of it, i have made the right choice going into hospital. I think if i can avoid any more upset then i will.

Thank you hun. :hugs: Its nice to hear from someone whos had both. It must be so hard to go through this more than once.:hugs:

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: these are you for Wishes! Hang in there sweet pea!
Im sorry to hear about m/c too! If you need someone to cry on...Im here!

just wanted to pop in and send some :hugs: so sorry to hear of the news, hun.

eprc meand d&c?

If so, I had it done twice.

I prefer the time where I had the general anesthesia as I didnt feel a thing. The second what with no anesthesia. So ask you doctor. You don't feel anything. You will start bleeding that same day and the doctor probably wont work too much in it to avoid scratching the uterus so expect to see lots of blood clots.
The pain that comes is period like pains.

I am sorry u r going thru this. Blighted ovums are a scary thing, and am sorry this happened to you too.. with me it was a nightmare.. please be strong :hugs:

Oh darling, I am so very sorry about your news xx

so sorry to hear this Wishes*

i had d&c 7 weeks ago and it is absolutely fine, i woke up with just mild preiod cramps and had no bleeding at all, tho this can differ with each person*

if in the same situation again i would def have this proceedure*

best of luck and try and focus on the future darling*:hugs:

i had a D+C and the hospital were lovely, the one thing noone warned me about was sore legs (from them holding ya leg up thingys) it took me a few days it felt like my legs had run a marathon.
remember to rest after wards i made the mistake of jumping back into normal life and ended up quite poorly.

youll be fine and we are all here for you

xxxxxxxxx

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, please don't be scared, you'll be ok.

I've had natural misacarriages twice when I didn't know I was pregnant, so it's not the same as it happening when you know that you are (I was younger and not expecting to be pregnant). When I knew I was pregnant last year and did miscarry at 13 weeks there was no way I could have done that by myself at home, because the baby had already died at 8 weeks anyway and I was in a lot of pain they wanted to get it out. More to the point I couldn't stand the thought of it being in me anymore. I was under anesthetic and then off work for 2 weeks - 1 for me to recover physically and 1 for me to recover mentally.

Im going in tomorrow... maybe i shouldnt go back to work on monday then?

no def dont go back to work monday take some time off to get you mind and body better xxx

First off...I am so sorry for your loss:hugs:. I had a d&c when I lost my baby. I was put to sleep totally, and didn't feel a thing. When I woke up I had a bit of discomfort and I bled for about 10 days...very light bleeding. I found that for a few days after I was uncomfortable but then was fine. I took 2 weeks off work. I tried to go back after 1 week but found it was too soon, I work with Moms and their new babies....so I took another week. Take care:hugs:

I am so so sorry for your loss. I had a DandC just over a month ago and it wasn't that bad to be honest. By the time I had the Dand C, I couldn't cry anymore and I just wanted it to be over by that point. I was out of hospital a few hours later and didn't bleed that much (no worse than a heavy period). I did get a UTI a week later which I had to take antibiotics for but think that was my own fault for not drinking enough water (and too much wine). I still cried everynight for weeks but apart from sad days here and there, I am feeling more positive now. Hope this helps and thinking of you. XX

I really wouldn't. I mean, I know some people physically can (I couldn't because I've already had a couple of laprascopys so guess I'm a bit sensitive down there) but I think you really do need some time to rest up or you could make yourself ill.
It's not like you can't leave the house, but don't over do it. Take some time out for you, watch movies, talk to friends (or us!!) eat brownies :hugs:

Thank you so much girls. You're all so brave! They say that they only give you as much as you can handle, that explains why theres so many fantastic and caring people on this forum. I pray im as strong as you guys. :hugs:
