December 2017 Testers: Hopeful for Christmas and Year-end BFPs

Sorry for being in limbo Poppiebug... I get your frustrations on not getting a +OPK. It just sucks when you thought you should be ovulating by now or really really close to O....

Did you take any medication that could be delaying your O? Or maybe you're just a day or 2 late for O which is still normal. Also, it's normal to have anov cycle once or twice a year. But we can't say just yet until you went past your normal average cycle.. I hope it's just late O though.

I'm on the same boat waiting to get a +OPK maybe tomorrow is the day.. I still need to pee on one later this afternoon...

Katy, that was my concern regarding this diet during pregnancy, if there isn't any medical need to avoid carbs. Just seems there are easier, less harsh and safer ways to keep weight in check.

Poppie, I would keep doing the OPKs. Your ovulation day can change with any given cycle, and since most of us don't have a specific cycle length but usually varies by a few days, this means the majority of the time it isn't your lp changing but your ovulation day changing. This is far more likely. Unless you're using something which can change your lp, or if there's a hormonal imbalance, or in the case of very early miscarriages.
I wouldn't go on a dip for ovulation because whilst some see a dip some won't and of course this can change each cycle too. If you have had negative OPKs throughout so far, then it's likely you haven't ovulated yet. Or, it could be you missed your surge, how frequently do you test? If you only test once a day you probably missed it, it's usually best to test a few times each day/evening. Have you recently stopped birth control? As this can play around with your cycle

I agree with you happy cakes. I’ve studied nutrition for several years and low carb for women is generally not good in the long run. Of course you will lose weight, but diets like keto arent Sustainable. Women need more carbs than men. Carb cycling is probably the best option. (This is for those who don’t have a medically necessary need) and also.. veggies are all carbs. Their entire macronutrient makeup is carbs!

AFM- 5 dpo started fighting off some weird type of cold yesterday.. I feel alright today but I don’t really want to be fighting something during the tww- seems like not a good thing right?

Well this is it. CD 16, I will O tomorrow Friday or Saturday but I won't know for sure because i'm not temping or OPK testing this cycle.

Round 2 of acupuncture this morning. fun times.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Ladies, i think this specific thread is not the right audience for the diet discussion.

If you want to continue with the discussion, come join my thread:

Lets get this thread back on track.
Dust to all :dust:

And to help with getting this thread back on track.... :haha:

I'm currently 9 dpo... have managed to find my cervix for the past 2/3 weeks (when I started checking) and now today.. it's like it has disappeared? Any ideas? Is it a sign? Am I clutching at straws :dohh:

I hope that the no testing cycle will bring you all the extra luck and that this is it! Fingers crossed! Go catch that eggy :flower:

Ah I always wanted to study nutrition but nowhere near me does it. It's an interest of mine, anyway :) keto sounds to me rather similar to Atkins? I remember being tempted to try it years ago but decided not to as it wasn't sustainable as you say, I could see that just reading about it. That's why I chose SW instead, because that actually is sustainable, since it's just eating healthily and isn't about restricting anything except for the obvious things in moderation which is perfect. The only thing I don't agree with with SW is the use of sweeteners, they're ok for some but many react to them, and also even things like stevia if used a lot can bring unwanted side effects.

With fighting off a cold during the TWW, it actually may not go against you. It could be a sign since our immune system is suppressed when pregnant, and also if unknowingly your body is one for attacking a pregnancy and stopping it from implanting, a suppressed immune system from a cold may allow implantation to go ahead in theory (in my mind it seems to make some sense anyway, I don't know if it makes scientific sense!) ... I could be completely wrong on that of course!
I had an awful cold with my first though, I remember it clear as day. It happened Christmas Day, I could smell everything so much more which seemed odd for a cold, but my throat was so sore and I was so tired and felt rubbish! A few weeks later I found out I was expecting, I was already about 6 weeks by then

Oooo, i personally don't check my cervical position, but have heard that its low just before af. So must be a good sign if its so high that you can't find it :happydance:

Happy cupcakes- I hope that it’s all good then lol. Not that I like feeling blah- I could handle it if it meant a BFP!

Dream- love the acupuncture! Hope this more “relaxed” approach helps! fXd

Tbfromlv - i agree with happycupcake: a cold might help implantation to stick. Fingers crossed its a good sign for you.

Woke up this morning with indigestion really bad, something I haven’t had in a while.
I saw on a post about how your Fitbit can show a spike in resting heart rate when you ovulate. Which if that is true, I had a spike on Sunday... so maybe I ovulated on Sunday instead of Monday? I did have the some ovulation pain on sunday.. hmmm who knows lol.

Super stressed about thanksgiving tomorrow. Cleaning my house like a mad woman lol

Can I be added to test on the 7th when I think af will be due. Think I'm going to ovulate in the next day or two. It's my second month TTC#2. I've been using an app all year tracking my periods & I decided to start testing for when I ovulate last month as I had a feeling judging by my cm I wasn't ovulating when the app suggested & I was right it seems to be a few days later. Only thing I have found with the ovulation tests is I'm finding it easier to test every day with smu as when Ive tried in afternoon even if I've had a darkish line in the morning it's barely visible in the afternoon if I test again then. Wondering as I drink a lot of water during the day it's getting too diluted.

Thanks Blobo!

Pamg- I’m the same way. I drink way too much water for lines to be good in the afternoon. However, I try to avoid it for a while and hold my pee if I suspect it’s O time.. so I’ve been successful getting the positive in the evening.

That is a sing. Your chart looks good. And the extra CM (the wet feeling) is also a good sign. :dust:

Almost forgot to take opk which is still obviously negative.. Maybe getting closer to catch that surge probably tomorrow. Definitely not o'ing today with the temp drop because if I were opk should be so light and this isn't. Also no ferning today.

Already posted it in my journal so apologies if you read my update again. :)

Pamg - add you in a bit. Like you i'm waiting to O in a 1-3 days, hoping I didn't screw up my cycle by taking EPO. I did stop it since yesterday though.

Jumping in with more cm questions.

After my period, my cm is very thick and lots of it. I'm guessing this is "creamy". This month the creamy went away and I always felt dry-ish for 1-2 days.

The day before ov pain, my cm got more watery.

Then I seemed more dry since ov pain but sometimes it does seem like I have some cm.

Haveone similar? Not sure what's going on with cm. I need to start paying attention each month.

bloblo & tankel - Eeeek.. It's so hard not to get excited :haha:

I plan to test IF my temp rises tomorrow morning. (And if I can resist )

FX you get a sure faint line tomorrow and an elevated temp as well.

DS is now  :yipee:

:dust:

Ahh I am sure hoping for that!! My nips are soo sore  in fact both my whole boobs feel like I've been squashed or something :dohh:

Both mine have just gone to bed after a very exhausting 3 hours of softplay :haha:
