***December Snowflakes 2012 Parenting***

Gorgeous photo's IST! And good luck to you guys! I hope it works out. I'm a little jealous but I keep reminding myself how nice it will be to go to an expat hospital. I have to walk past the most expensive one when I take Amber to her music and movement class and it looks like a five star hotel. So I keep saying, patience and you can go there too!!!!!

Cute pics, IST! So much hair! Poor gabby has a huge mullet. No bangs, it's just all in back. And starting to get some curl to it.

Just curious, how long did it take everyone here to get pregnant with your December snowflake? Took me 10 months, so that is always in the back of my mind for when I should start trying again. I don't want to be pregnant this year, but if it takes another 10 months, I should be trying now....

Chloe - it took me 2.5 years and 3 rounds of clomid to conceive Camden. That is definitely a huge consideration in my TTC plans, especially since I'm not exactly young now as it is. I'm just not ready to try again yet, and I know DH isn't either. At this rate Camden may be it for us!

Chloe it took me 9 months to conceive Cait (I consider myself lucky). I suspect PCOS because I had to lose 30 lbs just to have a cycle and it's back to irregular (but at least I have one now). I have every symptom to some degree. I actually went to my family doctor yesterday and asked for a bunch of blood tests and explained all of my symptoms in detail because neither he nor my ob/gyn wanted to diagnose anything. Although my symptoms have greatly diminished now that I have lost nearly 50 lbs, I am still having some cycle issues. That's why ttc is such a big deal for me. I never know what's going to happen. On a side note, I had a fever at my appt yesterday so my doc is thinking uti or something. My tests are tomorrow. I'm really hoping that we get pregnant right at the start but I really doubt it.

I am not happy that some of you have also had some issues with ttc but I'm relieved to know I'm not alone. That's kinda why DH and I aren't being so careful now, 2 months before official ttc, we doubt it'll happen so quickly.

I'm sorry some of you had a hard time ttc! It took us four months with only ntnp. I was totally ignorant to temping and charting and signs of ovulation. And the month I got pregnant my cycle was totally out of it and we only dtd once around the time I must have O'd! Finding this site and reading about the difficulties of others made me realise just how lucky we were. And of course its making me stress now that this time it won't work out that way.

But to give a little hope, one of the ladies on a ttc thread I'm on took 2 and a half years to conceive her first. She eventually got dh to agree to ntnp because it took so long the first time and she fell pregnant the first month!

We're going swimming today and I'm so excited! I've taken Amber swimming once when she was about 5 and a half months old. I can't wait to see how she likes it now!

Hey all..update on my Angel Took her to the er yesterday and she has two really bad vviruses, a ear infection again, abs broncholtis.. now she's on a very strong antibiotics. And with my Ella it took us 8 months and with Angel first try.

Hi ladies :hi: hope you and all of your LO's are doing well.

Bbygurl, sorry to hear Angel has been under the weather :( hoping she's feeling better soon x

We fell pregnant on our first try with DD1, but took 9 months with Millie (suspected PCOS, had been referred to a fertility specialist but took matters into my own hands and took soy and conceived a couple of months later!). I don't know if it was pregnancy or bf'ing but something kick started my body into being super fertile this time! Can't believe I've been pregnant 3x this year already! Hoping this one stays sticky :) we had an early scan at 6+3 and everything was fine, and the heartbeat was there flickering away so feeling positive for my 12w scan at the end of the month!

Wow, been a while! Congrats lolly!! :D
Glad that babies are doing well! Tessa is growing and saying new words all the time! Happy, but sad they grow up so quickly!

Hi Jules! Nice to see you again!

Today is the day! We're off to South Africa tonight and I can't wait! Busy packing at the moment and I had to take a break because it is starting to stress me out a bit! Its so hard to be sitting in summer weather and trying to pack for winter!

Yesterday (Tuesday) was my birthday and Amber gave me the wonderful present of sleeping til 8am! It was great. Today she has woken up with a croaky voice. Its very cute to listen to but not the ideal thing when we're about to spend 18 hours flying! Lets hope it clears up soon.

Happy Birthday, Bean! I hope you have an uneventful flight! And I hope swimming was fun. Swimming lessons start in 2 weeks for us, and we haven't been since the winter. She has changed so much since then, I think she will like it a lot more now.

Lolly, glad to hear the pregnancy is going well so far!

bbugurl, poor Angel! I hope she has improved!

Thanks for sharing your TTC timing. Since stopping BF, AF is starting to get more regular i think. I'm at a 40 day cycle now, was 60+ days, and then before that 300+ days, lol. My anniversary is 7/11 and we are planning a weekend away, without Gabby. I really hope AF does not decide to return to a 28 day schedule, since she just showed up today.

I was putting a list together of Gabbys words and lost count at 35. She has so many! I can't believe how quickly they learn things now. It is so fun to watch! Hope everyone is well! Anyone else have a baby who will not let you brush their teeth? Its like wrestling an alligator in my house.

We made it to South Africa safely! Amber was a trooper and did so well. She is getting used to seeing lots of strangers but her sleep is terrible. She wakes up between 1:30 and 3am and nothing I do will get her back to sleep in her crib so she comes into our bed. Then I don't get much sleep. Really hoping it sorts things out soon.

Chloe yes we have huge problems with teeth brushing. It drives me mad! It got better for a while but didn't last.

Happy you had a safe trip bean!

Hi all! Been so busy! I hope you're all well.

Glad you had a safe trip, Bean!

My big news for the day is that i put Gabby on the potty this morning (she went to sit on her baby potty on her own, so i asked her if she had to go poo poo, and she didn't say no, so i took that as a yes, and i moved her to the seat i bought to put on the real toilet). She sat there for a bit, and i told her if she had to go pee pee or poo poo she could go now on the big girl potty, and she just started to pee (first time on a potty for her)! Usually she wakes up with a pretty dry diaper, and then as soon as i change it, she pees in it, so she pretty much always goes in the morning. She was so happy when she got praised for peeing, it was too cute. I hope she wants to use it more in the future. We are definitely not starting hard core potty training, but i quite often take her into the bathroom with me when i pee, in hopes of making her comfortable with the purpose of the potty which would then make potty training easier. So proud of her! I will have to try to make this a morning routine now.

On another note, has anyone used a Maclaren or Chicco liteway umbrella stroller? there are 2 for sale in my neighborhood and i am deciding between the two for a good travel stroller.

Hope all is well!

That's great news Chloe! Amber really isn't ready yet. Her nappy is still wet in the morning and she doesn't really let us know when she is going. But I'm not worrying about it yet.
I haven't used either stroller but I have heard good things about the Maclaren.

Amber is doing so well with all the strangers and is so friendly. I'm so proud. I just wish her sleep would settle! The second night with my parents (fifth night in SA) she slept all the way through. But the next two she woke up again. Last night she woke up and cried 5 times! I waited the usual 2 minutes and 4 out of 5 times she went back to sleep. But it still wakes me up. The one saving grace is that when she wakes up at 6am my dad goes to get her!

It's been very quiet in here.

So I got a faint bfp this morning and although time has me really confused about when this happened, I seem to be pregnant. I suppose I'll have a March baby this time. I'm confused, excited, and a little nervous.

IST, congrats!!! That is very exciting for you :) How many DPO are you?

Yes, it has been quite quiet on here. We must all be too busy chasing our toddlers around! I know there is never a moment's rest at my house (only when i'm at work!). Gabby has also decided that the 8:00 bed time is not for her, so she is up with us until 9:00, which dramatically cuts down on my free time. We will be switching daycares at the end of august, which is nerve wracking, but i think it should be good in the long run for all of us. Thinking about TTC #2 after my November cruise.

I don't think we have any new milestones to share. She is repeating everything i say, and we are working on putting multiple words together when speaking. She is also turning into a super picky eater and i'm trying to find vegetables that she will eat.

Hope everyone is well!

TBH I have no idea...lol. I had 2 pos opks and didn't know which to go by or if the second was a fluke? My test is faint though so I'm guessing 12dpo? I can't be sure. I see the doctor next week and I'm nervous.

Cait is doing the same, repeating everything! I have to be careful of my language now a days. I'm not big on swearing but when I stub my toe and stuff....they sometimes slip. Not too much new other than that. She's just picking up new words and doing a few new things here and there. Still not much interest in the potty.

Hope everyone is doing well!

This is now the third time I'm writing this post!

Congratulations IST! Awesome news!

We are having an amazing holiday. Its incredible to have family around to help and give us some time out. We spent a week at the beach and Amber adored it. Sand is her new favourite thing!

Chloe I have had a breakthrough with brushing teeth! I changed from a plastic bristle brush to regular bristles and she loves it. I also started using a tiny bit of toothpaste for 0 to 3 years. I know they say you shouldn't use it til 2 or 3 but Amber has bad breath! But she still happily uses the brush without the toothpaste.

I will be testing later this week. Although I want a baby we only want a bfp for this coming cycle so my insurance will kick in on time. But I guess we'll just deal with what comes. Hopefully we won't have wasted all that money and that I'm just having a long cycle.

Congrats IST!! So exciting!

Sounds like all of our LOs are doing similar things at this point. Camden repeats EVERYTHING and is starting to put a few words together. We go to the pool 4 or so days a week and she's become very confident in the water. It's a great way to tire her out! She loves coloring and she's gotten very good at puzzles. My parents are moving here at the end of the month into a neighborhood a few minutes from us, so she will be very excited to have Grandma and Grandpa close by.

So no March baby for me, but I'll be trying again when I can. I hope all of our wonderful snowflakes are doing well!
