Depo injection, no period

Oh ya and for me depo withdraw = sore boobs, nausea, and acne. But that is getting better now so hopefully my hormones are on the mend

I'm left with the frustration of not been able to give him that. Saying that he is putting up with hell of a lot at the moment

*sigh* well I thought AF was visiting me yesterday. But it was just my wacky body showing me that it is going to continue to give me a hard time. *sigh* yesterday I had cramps, greasy skin, cramps, low back pain, cramps, sore boobs, cramps, and a heavy flow. (and bad cramps!) Today - nothing. *grrr* - OK some cramping and of course my low back always hurts because of back problems, but AF brings her own brand of back pain when she visits.

I wish I had known before their was a chance he was going to change his mind and decide he wants a baby after all. I would have never gone on the depo shot to begin with!

Have you heard about Goats Rue to get your hormones back on track after Depo? I have not tried it yet. Just done some research. From what I can tell their is not much risk in trying it - other than it tasts horrable. Thoughts?

Ooh where can you get that from? I'm skeptical about Agnus Catus because you aren't meant to use it in the TWW, but if AF hasn't come back yet, how do you know when to stop? Xx

Well there is a lot of web sites that talk about and sell Goats Rue. Sorry I can't post links with my phone, but if you Google it, tons of stuff pops up. They say you can sometimes get it at health food stores too. I think you stop taking it when you get pregnant and then resume after if you need a milk production boost.

I have just come off the depo, was due to get one 5th of dec. I did an ov test and had a faint line on the 26th and then it was lighter on the next day. I've always had a 28 day cycle and have always ov around day 13/14. I've had no sign of a period at all. Some very very slight cramping but nothing like I'd normally have. Has anyone else had something like that?

So confused! Wanting to get pregnant but worried it gonna take awhile

Well I don't know what is going on with me, but I'm bleeding again.

I only had that light bleed 2 weeks ago. About an hour ago I felt those period type pains, went to the toilet and started bleeding. To be honest I've been checking and noting CM this month and last couple of days, it's been discoloured, brownish like what you get after a period. But I've been doing that thing you do and ignoring it.

This happened last time, I have a bleed for a few days, just like a period then 2 weeks later, spotting and clots for a couple of days. Last time I went 4 weeks till the bleed 2 week ago.

The thing that is getting to me is that I had some opks delivered today, I'd decided to start in the new year testing and temping. But as you do I thought I would do one, for practice and just cause I wanted it to have two lines. Well there was, slightly fainter than the control line, well that got me excited thinking that maybe I was heading towards to surge and maybe ovulating, but obviously not, now I'm bleeding.

Why do we put ourselves through this??

Do I class it as a period or a random heavy spotting, I just don't know ???

I don't want to be negative but will share my story. I was on the depo for about a year and it took a long time for my body to regulate. A good year or so. Though I know those results vary from person to person. Either way, your body will eventually regulate after depo. Just might take a bit longer than you like.

When I stopped the depo, I had a couple of 14 day cycles. Your body will get back into a pattern. Mines back to a 28 day cycle every month, just takes time.

Just a quick update:- I now have some spotting it's not much but the fact I now have some is making me quite excited not sure if it will turn into a proper period so will have to wait n see. If its just spotting will that be classed as withdrawal bleed from the depo?

I don't know if it will be withdrawal spotting or the start of an actual period but it's definitely a good sign to be having anything so quick after depo! Hope it turns out to be AF. Congrats and GL!

My Ob recommended when I quit receiving the depo shot to start on the pill to get my period back and to get it on a regular schedule afterwards. Maybe try that? I was on depo for two years and luckily I received my periods back after my last depo shot expired.

Thanks iiTTCii, finally stopped bleeding and feeling better, it was definitely more of a proper period. It's been 6 months since my last injection now so FX I might be on the road to recovery.

Can i join? My depo was due on 23rd of oct.
I had 2 shots 1 in april, 1 in july.

First 4wks nothing really happened i felt OK.
After that i started to have a lot more cramping, headaches, spots etc.

I have been using ovulation tests from about 1 wk after it was due nothing major to really report however my line is getting darker when ive started to cramp some tests look near to positive so all i can think is my body is trying hard to release that egg but isn't quite getting there.

All i want for christmas is a period lol

Just wanted to share my story and give you some hope, I was on the depo for nearly 6 years, I Toomey it for 5 years, came off for a year due to the osteoporosis chances, went know the coil and implant during that time, once that year was up I went back on the depo, I was on it for another year before deciding to come off as I had read horror stories too, I started on the pill as I hadn't found the right man but knew it would be better and easier to stop the pill when I did than the injection, 6 months later me and my partner decided to try for a baby, that was mid Sept, I'm now 6-7 weeks pregnant and awaiting my scan date in the post, it can happen really quick, my periods were totally scatty, some being short, others ridiculously long, the gaps between them I couldn't even judge when it was due next! But it will happen! In amongst all the horror stories there are some good ones! X
