I'm assuming a smear test is the same thing as a pap smear, right? Sorry if I sound dumb, but I just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. lol
Anyway, if it's the same thing, then I've had quite a few done. I had one before I was supposed to go on birth control (but I got pregnant with Aiden before I could start taking them
), I had one at my first OB appointment with each pregnancy, another at each of my 6 week postpartum checks, and then I think there was another in there somewhere, since it's recommended you get one yearly after you start having sex. And I think they say you're supposed to have one once you turn 18 even if you don't have sex. I'm not entirely sure, though, since I never made it that far.
And I think when they do the pap smear, they also do STD testing.
I guess it's really different in the US.
For me, to get it done it was never really that bad. Uncomfortable, yes, but it wasn't painful. My doctor was funny, though, since he apologized to me the whole time (every time).
