Hi girls!

Erm, so i have been engaged for over a year now... and we haven't planned a thing, we never actively started planning our wedding at all, not even the date...or year for that matter!

It seems the longer I wait to start planning, the less excitement and momentum there will be, as we have been engaged for ages...

Is there a list, of things to do & in what order?! Where on earth do i start?!

...:help:...

x

Ok...are you sitting down? Notebook and pen beside you? Then I'll begin....

- Decide which year you want to get married - girls are starting to plan now for 2012 so you can never start too early
- Decide a budget. Setting this early on will help you when it comes to choosing suppliers
- Discuss whether you want a religious or civil ceremony. If you want a religious ceremony do you want to get married in the church, or would you like the ceremony to be conducted at the venue?
- Research possible venues in your area. Draw up a shortlist and make appointments to visit them (when you get to that stage there is a list of must-ask questions, I can send you a list!)
- Once you have found a venue you like, discuss dates, check whether they correspond with the availabilty of the church/celebrant - and book a date!
- After the date is booked - the next big things to think about are photographer/videographer and band. The good ones get booked up fast so make these a priority
- Start dress shopping a year beforehand so you arent in any way rushed. Some dresses take 6 months to arrive, and then you need to allow time for alterations after that.
- If your venue doesnt do catering, then you will need to contact caterers as soon as you have a date booked.
- If your wedding is during peak holidays seasons, sending our Save the Date cards are a good way of letting everyone know your intentions so they can keep the day free
- At the 9-12 month mark, find a florist and book your wedding transport.

I think thats enough for now (I dont want to totally scare you) If you need a hand with anything, just give me a shout xxx

THANKYOU Boofs!

This should make a change from baby clothes! xx

:happydance: I hope you find them useful. I'll pop in a copy of thishttp://www.reallifeweddings.co.uk/ too :flower: Its Scottish weddings but all of them featured are gorgeous and full of good ideas

Thank you thank you thank you !!!! Wow... my little boy will get to be at my wedding :cloud9:

Another good place to look at is www.confetti.co.uk so many handy tips, ideas, venues etc even a search on dresses :cloud9: They even have a shop for various things like confetti, favours etc

Wedding planning is both fun and possibly just a little stressful, currently planning on a 2012 wedding myself :happydance:

Boof- could I please have the list of must ask Q's for the venue? I'm about to book mine but wanna make sure I've not missed anything glaringly obvious xx
