Dissapointing Scan--- UPDATE ^_^

Hun, don't give up hope yet, the baby could be growing slowly, some do. I've read loads of stories of woman having scans at 7 weeks and not seeing a HB then 1-2 weeks later the baby is well.

I had a scan yesterday and from external scan she could only see sac but couldn't see what was inside it cause it was so small and certainly no heartbeat from external. I started to cry but then she did internal scan and there was a tiny baby with a heartbeat and yolk sac. It could have just been far too early for external scan for you and maybe you are a bit behind with dates. I should have been 7+1 according to first day of last period but only measured 6+4 cause I ovulated a few days late.

She said I could have internal scan everytime I go if I like cause she said it's a lot easier and clearer esp leading up to 12 weeks.

I will definatley be having internal next time to save the worry that an external one can cause.

Fingers crossed for you that everything is ok at next scan, maybe ask for internal one too.

Thank you, I will definitely ask for internal scan next Sunday... In my country it is rare to do internal, the usual choice is external that is why I didn't think about it before...

This is great news! They should never have put you through this. Here in NL they don't even try external scans before 12 weeks as they can't see anything properly. I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 6w3d because of bleeding (I now have a healthy baby boy!) and even then they said to me not to expect anything as it is quite uncommon to see the heartbeat so early. I can't believe that they stressed you out so much for no reason.

Well I took your advice and went to a doctor that do a transvaginal ultrasound, she said the baby is healthy and his size is normal... And she couldn't believe that two other doctors couldn't decide to do internal when they didn't see anything through external

But really your support is this thread really helped me through this very hard time.... now I can concentrate more on actually having my little one

That's brilliant news.
I went for a 9 + 4 scan today (first scan) and before we even started I was told if they couldn't see anything on the external they would do an internal, and the sonographer said that they were obliged to make that clear at the start, so i am really surprised they didn't do that before.
